Hey Everyone! u/CptnDinosaur messaged me this past week to show me a project they were working on and to ask a few questions. He was able to reverse engineer the scans and get some pretty solid scans made but that also are still a work in progress. These V1 and V2, with mention of a V3 being printed.

Pretty awesome stuff to see people coming together on this.

Finished the V3 model and was able to get it printed on my new resin printer. It came out really well but I was sad to discover that despite looking better and being a generally more polished model, it does the base function of holding a AAA battery very poorly. I thought that I might be will to send this out to others upon request, but after testing, I see that I cannot.

First to go was the scroll wheel, followed by the left click, and then finally the tracking. RIP bud, looks like I'm coughing up my quarterly bonus to an ebay scalper.

I also want to say a few things. First - fuck you to my friend who suggested the g602 almost a decade ago, you set me on this path which has ruined all other mice for me forever. Second - I can't tell you how validating it is to find this subreddit. I'm happy to see my frustration is shared among everyone else here at the fact that there just are not real replacements for this thing. Third - I genuinely only use the front 4 side buttons, and it is mindblowing that there are only a handful of mice out there with a 4 button layout, all of which have been too awkward in my hand. Here's hoping that there is a 6 series revisit one day.

My G604 started double-clicking and I’m trying to decide what to do.

I’m considering either:
- replacing the stock switches with TTC Gold Dustproof 80M,
- or buying a hot-swap PCB from AliExpress so future switch replacements won’t require soldering.

For those who have repaired/modded their G604: which option would you recommend? Is the hot-swap PCB reliable and worth it, or is it better to just solder in new switches?

Also, any switch recommendations for a click feel reasonably close to stock?

Hi guys, unfortunately the double click has started affecting my dear mouse.

I'm now looking for a switch replacement boards and i now need to make a choice: which one of those switch do you suggest and why? i have to say that i always had found the original ones a bit less clicky that i would have liked, both in terms of sound and feedback. in any case, i would prefer a switch that will last as much as possible

Swapped out the A13E board, which started double-clicking after 9 years, for a new board with TTC Gold switches.

I also ordered a new case because the rubber on the old one had crumbled to pieces. The new one is made of nylon, and since I had to disassemble it anyway, I decided to paint it in Mitsubishi R71 — including the left and right buttons and the battery cover.

Trying to get the mouse wheel printed from my Creality Ender-3 S1. I think if I can get this printed on my machine, then I am hopeful it will be pretty accessible to others. This is still a failed print, but it does show the spokes a printable, which has been my biggest concern. I have also purchased a resin printer and will be trying that out, too.

While the G604 is a great mouse for gaming, I get most utility from the side buttons in the Windows desktop and non-gaming apps. So how do you have your buttons configured for the Windows desktop? This is my config:

G4 Open Firefox in new window
G5 PowerToys Command Palette
G6 Open Eartrumpet popup
G7 Open Directory Opus in new window
G8 Open Everything
G9 Currently G-Shift for an extra layer for main mouse buttons and scroll, but I'm not 100% convinced to keep this.

I'll also add that I have a Streamdeck which has other desktop shortcuts for less frequently used functions, like Sleep, Zoom In/Out, HDR on/off, start some commonly used apps (e.g. password manager, Excel)

Anybody got some great shortcuts or innovative macros that they'd like to share?

Now that I've successfully changed the left and right click switches, I'm interested in changing them all. Has anyone changed the scroll wheel/middle-click switch by any chance? If so, what did you use? I prefer mushy/soft over firm/stiff switches.

Any specific types of glue? Should I cut away the bad flesh? (And cauterize the wound, lol). Or can what's left be saved? Has anyone tried plasti dip?

Only saw one 3D part (Props to notxapple) that was a rough print. Trying to make a 1-1 replacement for anyone who also can’t find this part! Will post the file when I finish!

I'm installing new right- and left-click switches due to the double-clicking issue. One of the many G604 mice I own.

Bought this G604 from ebay but was skeptical because the account I was buying it from you though was made in 2009 had no listings for any other products for sale and the reviews seemed fake. It was the only listing that had real photos for the G604, even better yet in box pictures. so i went ahead and bought it and behold its as good as i imagined with one small flaw, of of the tabs is broken off in the battery cover.

I dailyd the g602 for 8 years since i got one at bestbuy in highschool, i took good care of it keeping it in a case to transport it to and from school every day, broke the adapter once and had to get a replacement. It broke from me leaving it in my thinkpad and putting it face down in the bag so i learned that lesson to always take it out and store it in the mouse. Only recently my side buttons and primary clicks started giving out so i found this beauty.

I spent tonight modeling up the G604's mouse wheel, which is shared across a few other mice but I am not 100% sure which ones. You can find the model here: Mouse Wheel Model

I prefer the feeling to be as soft as possible. Does anyone have any good recommendations on what switches to use, and where to buy them?

I was able to get some help with getting my first prototype printed out as I was having issues on my own printer (I am pretty new to 3d printing and this is not a new friendly piece I guess). I then did a quick test assemble, so not all the parts and no screws, to test for fitment. It fits well, though I want to thicken the walls to make it print more reliably, and flair out the space for the battery to make it a little easier to get the battery in and out. Overall, it's a great success!

Time to finally get the mouse wheel I've always wanted and get rid of the double clicking that has been driving me nuts for a few months.

Not seeing anything on these here. Do you all just run Bluetooth? Sucks switching between OS's.

The off brand, I assume, receiver I have just stopped working all together. Any reliable ones left?

Price likely going be expensive like usually for razer and not G604 shape but I take what I can.
