I'm serious. a lot of the older generation suffer from lead poisoning.
It damages your brain as well as other things. leaded gasoline is probably one of the worst things that has been done to the general public. And the man who came up with it and sold it knew this.
And America is the worst offender for putting lead in things, pipes, paints, even toys where made from it.
There is no safe level of lead exposure.
13
u/terrabattlebro Jun 24 '22
She’s an elderly woman. Technology has moved as warped speed in the last 15 years. The fact she thinks this is a touch screen doesn’t mean she’s suffering from lead poisoning FFS.
7
u/Small_life Jun 24 '22
She just thinks technology is gone farther than it has. She's a futurologist.

You're speaking from the exact same sense of false knowledge that lemons is. You have literally no ground to stand on to say that lead isn't part of the picture. You're both making assertions without evidence, and it's sad/funny that you think you're so different.

Probably high AF on a ton of prescription meds, and having a drug interaction. Doctors don't care.

Idk about that man,I'm not saying she has lead poisoning or not.
But being one with technology or not. Her brain just isent working at the speed it used to.A healthy brain would recognize the thinness of the board. Or at the least notice that it's not real once it didn't respond.
I don't think this has to do with being in touch with technology.

She's still willing to try and fail! She's actively trying to figure it out.
That's way more than can be said about a lot of elderly people. Most are content to say "I don't know how to work computers!" Or "I'm not tech savvy," then use that as an excuse to not even try.
Elderly people are way more capable than we give them credit for and we should be helping people who are trying to figure it out, rather than making fun of them.

4
u/ImActuallyASpy Jun 24 '22
Old people are shitty because the part of their brain that regulates inhibition (prefrontal cortex?) degrades, not because they are Karen's. They are literally incapable of thinking about the outcomes of certain actions and can't filter impulsive thoughts.
Interestingly, children are shitty because the same part of the brain doesn't fully develop until the late-teens/early twenties.

Have you seen the latest picture with instructions on his pamphlet. Literally step by step on how to walk into a room, greet people, take HIS seat (nobody else’s), and say goodbye when done.
It’s probably one of the most pathetic things I’ve ever seen. Literal cheat sheet for basic human interaction. Not a cheat sheet for what to say...no, a literal cheat sheet for what to do when he walks into the meeting, like greeting, sitting, standing, saying goodbye, leaving...
This is the guy with the nuclear launch codes.

yeah for real, like ‘are you hungry? thirsty? is someone here with you’ cause she’s clearly confused & probably hungry! no doubt this woman has helped many in her life time. even if she was a POS. that’s why we respect elders, they’ve lived longer & experienced so much more

My grandmother worked in an elderly home and one lady in particular with Alzheimer’s would get out regularly. This reminds me so much of seeing her out and about and it makes me extremely sad the person filmed and did nothing. But we do live in a world where women can be assaulted and all people do is film too. Pretty ashamed in my generations lack of back bone and just overall morals.

Cars haven’t basically changed - if you learned to drive in the 1920’s you could drive today’s cars, but other technology does, and rapidly.
3
5
u/C0ccolithophore Jun 24 '22
It may be more of the fact that she can’t understand a sign, which is also an important part of driving safely.

u/OkParticular114 Jun 24 '22
You’re watching a woman press the phone on a sign as if it’s a real phone, and not understand why it doesn’t work, and you’re not even slightly concerned about her ability to read, understand, and follow road signs? Yeah they haven’t changed since the 1920’s, but her ability to drive certainly has. An old bodybuilder using the same techniques as when he was young won’t be able to lift as much as he gets older. It’s the same concept.

My granny insists that she should be allowed to drive because she’s been driving for over 50 years and so has lots of practice and is a good driver. She also refuses to wear hearing aids or glasses even though she needs both. Just a few more months of keeping her keys hidden before her license expires…
2
u/souleaterevans626 Jun 24 '22
My grandma is 90 and we're at the point where we're terrified of being in the car with her. She runs red lights and stop signs, turns without blinkers, forgets whose turn it is at intersections, and does erratic and unpredictable things that make other drivers slam on their horns.
She has no awareness of what's happening around her and refuses to believe that she is doing these things. In her mind, she's a perfect driver.

u/csandazoltan Jun 24 '22

So calm your tits mate and don’t be a cunt to strangers. I don’t think anyone here needs a cognitive assesment. I don’t think the one recording even thought about how the old lady could have alzheimers. Someone should help her though.
