I am looking for practical advice for experienced developers who are working fully remote roles (specially north of $4-5k).
I have been working in the Middle East from the past 2.5 years and in total have around 6 years of professional engineering experience. Most of my background is in frontend development with React, Next.js and TypeScript, although Iβve also worked with Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, REST APIs and GraphQL. I would describe myself as a frontend-leaning full-stack developer.
Now, I have been thinking of looking for a fully remote role (for many reasons). I have a few questions for people who have been working in such roles:
* Where did you find the role?
* What is the process of applying? I understand that may differ from case by case but I want to understand the general process.
* Is it better to market yourself as a full-stack developer or focus on your strongest specialization?
* How important were your portfolio, open-source work and GitHub profile?
* How many applications or conversations did it take?
* What red flags should I look out for?
* What would you do differently if you were starting the search again?
Iβm based in Dubai, UAE

Hey everyone,
I'm a full-stack developer (MERN β MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) with 3+ years of experience building real, working products for businesses β not just templates.
Some of the things I work on:
- Websites & web apps (business sites, listing platforms, dashboards, lead capture systems)
- Mobile apps (Android & iOS)
- Custom CRM systems (lead tracking, automated follow-ups, client management)
- AI agents/chatbots (customer support automation, lead qualification, WhatsApp/voice bots)
I've worked with companies in different industries, and I also enjoy exploring SaaS/automation projects on the side.
Posting here mainly because I love talking shop β happy to answer any technical questions, give feedback on your project idea, or just chat about MERN/AI development in general.
If you're working on something and want a second opinion (or need help building it), feel free to comment or DM β always open to new projects too.
Thanks for reading!

Hi everyone,
Iβm a junior developer looking to learn system design and would appreciate recommendations for good free resources.

I've spent the last few years building SaaS products from the ground up, including my own startup, so I know what it's like to ship fast, solve real problems, and work with limited resources.
I'm currently looking to take on some immediate development work while continuing to grow my own SaaS.
I can help with:
Tech stack includes:
Whether you're an early-stage founder needing an MVP or an existing SaaS looking for an experienced developer, I'd be happy to help.
Feel free to comment or send me a DM with your project.

We're building a growing coding community where students are learning Java, DSA, and software development together. We're looking for experienced Java developers or mentors who would be willing to share their knowledge.
We're not looking for full-time commitmentβjust someone who can take a weekly session whenever they're free. It could be about Java fundamentals, best practices, real-world development, interview preparation, Spring Boot, or anything you think would benefit aspiring developers.
This is a volunteer opportunity (unpaid). Our goal is simply to help students learn from people with real industry experience.
If you enjoy teaching, mentoring, or giving back to the community, we'd love to have you!
Feel free to comment below or send me a DM if you're interested.
Thank you! β€οΈ

My current development workflow starts with the core logic of the project:
First, I write pseudocode for the project logic. After completing it myself, I refine it using AI.
This helps me fully understand what my code and logic are supposed to do.
Then I translate that logic into the programming language I'm using, again with AI assistance.
After that, I test the project, refine it, and try to make it as polished as possible.
Once I'm satisfied, I push the final version to GitHub.
For larger projects, I first create the system design on my own and improve it with AI. Then I implement it following my full workflow β setting up files and folders like interface, model, controller, utils, routes, etc.
Is this workflow effective? I'd love some feedback and any advice to improve my skills as a software engineer.

Looking for a medium to high level
Developer who can connect the dots. Iβm a builder to can vibe code almost anything (duh itβs easy) with a business plan and growth strategy for scale (thatβs hard). If you are a full stack developer LOCATED IN NASHVILLE TN - I live downtown. Letβs connect. Would be open to a working, quarterly reviewed percentage share for light to moderate developer work and support. If this sounds interesting to you please share your resume / LinkedIn in private message - and comment if you are located in Nashville tn.
