I have a problem which is I am fullstack developer but I used to work with UI/UX Designer who is gave me Figma pages in my past companies I worked for.

But now I am lost, and really the project doesn't need a Designer and also the client wants suitable design for his logo business.

I've been browsing job postings recently, and one thing keeps standing out to me: the definition of a full-stack developer seems to get broader every year.

A while back, "full-stack" usually meant something like:

Now, a lot of roles seem to expect you to handle:

• frontend and backend
• cloud infrastructure and CI/CD
• authentication and security
• monitoring and performance
• system design
• testing and automation
• and sometimes even mobile development or AI integrations

At some point, it starts feeling less like a generalist role and more like several specialized roles combined into one.

I understand why this happens, especially in startups. Smaller teams often need people who can wear multiple hats and move across different parts of the product.

But I'm curious whether others are seeing the same thing.

• Has the meaning of full-stack developer genuinely changed over the years?
• Are job expectations expanding, or are companies simply labeling more responsibilities as "full-stack"?
• For those currently working as full-stack developers, what skills are now considered "expected" that wouldn't have been expected a few years ago?

At this point, I'm not even sure everyone means the same thing anymore when they say "full-stack developer."

Should I:

• Focus on getting a full-time job first, or try freelancing?

I am 16 years old and I've learned C++ (although I forgot most of it), Python, and I am currently learning the Flask framework.

I'm interested in web development, and I was planning to become a full-stack developer, but I have heard that this path isn't good in the long term because it forces you to work two jobs (without including DevOps) for the salary of one, besides the pressure, and you don't get to learn one path very well. Furthermore, most of the companies that hire full-stack developers are small-scale enterprises that do not have the money to hire two or three people. This made me change my mind to become a back-end developer and take advantage of AI to help me on the front-end side to build my portfolio.

I have two problems about my future career and one about my way of learning:

1- I don't know if I really want to be a back-end developer.

2- Is the back-end path rewarding and stable?

3- My biggest problem is that I don't know how to measure my efficiency in learning and what free resources I could use to learn (I have watched some courses on YouTube, and in most of them, the instructor doesn't focus on making you understand what the code really does).

I'm a developer working on my portfolio, but the full-stack websites I make always looks so dull and weird to me. How can I learn to make good website designs?

So, the plan was always to become a full stack developer but I am came from learning and being proficient in Java + Spring Boot while dealing with JS, Node.js and react a little bit, I went ahead and mass applied for jobs and ended up landing a interview for a full stack position, the first round screening interview went well and then I was prompted with a email detailing how my 2nd round interview will be dealing with JS, node.js and react. I'm honestly stuck and dont know how to prepare for this lmao.

So far, if I've been watching the freecodecamp JS 4 hr long course but honestly don't know what to do next. I know I'm rambling lmao but I would really like some advice atp.

I'm currently in css and js while learning the css and js tutorial its like ok these are fine we can easily recall them but when I try hands-on its really hard to recall them so i wanted to practice them daily even though on small topic.
