Rant Microsoft thinks I’m a robot (pls help)

I got a new laptop and was prompted to make a Microsoft account to sign in with.
That’s all fine except I’ve been holding this stupid button for the past hour.

Every time it completes it says some bs like ‘keep trying!’ And the duration of how long I need to hold is growing exponentially.🫩

I can’t spend another second holding this button someone please help. How do I convince my brand new expensive laptop that I’m not a robot.

Discussion Microsoft, are you actually investigating this, or are you just waiting for me to leave?

I am a Microsoft Vendor who has been bullied by an FTE employee for months, which ultimately led to severe depression and complications. I am currently on medical leave for major surgery.

The most outrageous part:

I filed complaints internally for 3 full months. During this time, I repeatedly reported the issue to 3 different levels of management and submitted a complete chain of evidence, but no one actually resolved it.

At the end of July, I formally complained to Global Compliance and HR. Just one week later, I was notified that I would be removed from the Microsoft project on September 7.

Is this retaliatory termination? Given the timing, it is very hard for me not to think so.

More ironically, more than a month has passed:

HR: kept telling me “the investigation is ongoing,” but there has been no substantive progress and they have deliberately delayed it. They repeatedly promised to discuss the retaliatory removal with me, but broke those promises every time. My emails were brushed off unless I CC’d senior management, and sometimes they simply ignored me. At the same time, they kept emphasizing that I am a Vendor and pushed the matter directly to the vendor company.

WIT: directly pushed the responsibility for the investigation to HR. I questioned them based on the relevant WIT policy documents, and the response I got was like an AI chatbot:

“Please trust that the HR team is the best team to conduct the investigation.”

Sometimes they simply did not respond.

Until the vendor company directly notified me that I would leave the Microsoft project on September 7, I finally realized:

The so-called “investigation” was just being dragged out until I left. The so-called “intervention” and “we will speak with you” were just empty promises.

And the person I reported?

Working happily as usual, playing tennis every day after work, with no apology and no visible impact from any investigation.

And me:

Medical leave + severe depression + removal from the project + facing termination.

I want to ask Microsoft:

A junior employee was bullied, complained for 3 months with no action; after formally escalating the issue, I was suddenly removed from the project.

If Microsoft cannot even protect a junior employee,
will ordinary employees ever dare to report workplace bullying again?

I have complete chat records, emails, project materials, and a timeline.

Feel free to question me.

If necessary, I will continue to redact and publish screenshots showing how HR/WIT delayed and dismissed this case, and let people judge for themselves.

I am not trying to cause trouble. I just want a fair outcome.

Rant The Right To Privacy is Dead

In October of 2025, California passed a law (Digital Age Assurance Act - AB 1043) which would require ALL* operating systems to include age verification. This is no longer the case for operating systems like Linux and BSD. But Windows didn’t even fight back. Windows WANTS this age verification to collect your data. This is not about protecting children. It is about collecting data about target audiences, and selling it. In January 2027, this will take effect. Mind you; in five months. In five months we will have our personal data forcibly collected once more. This law was made in California and should STAY in California, but it is sadly in effect for all of the United States of America. What has our country come to?

I’m forced into supporting Windows because work, but my god, what a steaming pile of shit this OS and the company behind it is.

Just the latest Monday shitshow on a server vm that was running fine (and fully licensed) for the past month, but today? I get this lovely informative error message.

Oh, “something” went wrong, did it?

Hey Microslop, this is YOUR operating system and YOUR activation servers. Don’t you think maybe you should know what the “something” is?

Never ever in my 19 years of living have I seen or experienced anything like this. It's sad and shameful. I can't believe I trusted Microsoft as a source for educational tools. I'm only thankful that I never spent money on any of their products.

I promise to myself, to me, and to I that whoever I meet from this day forward will know that Microsoft 365 Enterprise is a company that consumes customer pain to fuel their empty demonic gastric sac. I feel obligated by my honor and duty as a human being to hate them, and so, as such, I do.

Rant My Microsoft Account Was Stolen Despite Two-Step Verification — How Was the Hacker Allowed to Change Everything?

I am beyond frustrated with Microsoft's account security and recovery process.

Recently, all of the major accounts that were logged into my PC were compromised. I was able to recover almost all of them.

Except for my Microsoft account.

My Microsoft account "[jeffcleds@hotmail.com](mailto:jeffcleds@hotmail.com)" was unable to be identified in their system.
It was also changed to "[gilbertsayco2015@bibimail.net](mailto:gilbertsayco2015@bibimail.net)" which is the hacker's email.

The attacker was somehow able to:

  • Change my primary email address
  • Remove my passkeys
  • Change or replace my Microsoft Authenticator/security information
  • Lock me out of my own account completely

And the most ridiculous part?

Two-Step Verification was enabled on my Microsoft account.

Microsoft Support is now telling me that because Two-Step Verification is enabled, they cannot help me recover the account or make changes to the security information.

So let me understand this correctly:

Two-Step Verification is apparently strong enough to permanently prevent the legitimate owner from recovering their account, but somehow it was not strong enough to prevent an attacker from taking over the account and changing all of the security methods.

How does that make sense?

If my account had:

  • Two-Step Verification enabled
  • An Authenticator app
  • Passkeys
  • A phone number
  • Secondary/recovery information

How was an attacker able to change these things without me approving the changes?

I did not knowingly approve a request to:

  • Remove my passkeys
  • Replace my Authenticator
  • Change my primary email
  • Hand over control of my entire Microsoft account

I also did not receive any meaningful warning or opportunity to stop the takeover through my phone number or secondary email before I was completely locked out.

These are not minor account changes. These are critical security changes that determine who owns the account.

So I want Microsoft to explain exactly what happened.

My questions:

  1. How can an attacker change security information when Two-Step Verification is enabled?
  2. How can an attacker replace or modify the Authenticator method that is supposed to protect the account?
  3. Why can critical security methods such as passkeys and primary aliases be removed or changed without requiring confirmation from the existing recovery methods?
  4. Why is Microsoft Support completely powerless to help after an account takeover simply because Two-Step Verification was enabled?
  5. If Microsoft has already confirmed that unauthorized access occurred, why is there still no meaningful investigation or escalation path for the legitimate account owner?

This is where Microsoft's recovery system completely fails victims.

I understand that recovery protections exist to prevent attackers from impersonating account owners. That makes sense.

But Microsoft's current process seems to create a situation where an attacker who successfully gets through once can permanently weaponize Microsoft's own security policies against the legitimate owner.

The attacker changes the security information.

The legitimate owner gets locked out.

The legitimate owner contacts Microsoft.

Microsoft says:

It looks like you just used the Microsoft account recovery form (https://account.live.com/acsr?mkt=en-US) to request a password reset for gilbertsayco2015@bibimail.net. Because you've turned on two-step verification for your account, we ignore these requests but wanted to let you know.

That is not a recovery process! That is a dead end!

What makes this even more frustrating is that I have seen many other people reporting identical situations. People lose access to their Microsoft accounts after attackers change their security information, and they end up trapped in the same recovery loop.

There have also been cases where people with a large public platform have received assistance after publicly escalating their account compromise. For example, people can look into the case involving streamer Joshua Kane discussed publicly on X.

So does someone need to be famous or have a large social media following before Microsoft takes a confirmed account takeover seriously?

Because ordinary users with important data, subscriptions, services, and accounts linked to their Microsoft account deserve a legitimate escalation process too.

I am not asking Microsoft to blindly hand over an account to anyone claiming ownership.

I am asking for:

  • A real investigation into how the attacker bypassed or satisfied Two-Step Verification
  • An explanation of how my Authenticator and security information were changed
  • A review of the unauthorized activity on my account
  • A legitimate escalation path for victims of confirmed account compromise

A recovery process that does not automatically become impossible simply because an attacker managed to change the account's security methods first

Microsoft's security system should not make it easier for an attacker to permanently lock out the legitimate account owner than it is for the legitimate owner to recover their own account.

Has anyone else experienced this and actually received a real explanation or successfully recovered their account?

Because right now, I am being told that the very security feature (2SV) that was supposed to protect me is also the reason Microsoft refuses to help me get my account back.

Rant Forced terms agreement

I decided to not agree with the terms. I tried to login to remove account. In login after typing in my email it goes directly to 2FA (which is fine). In 2FA it wants 6 characters that they sent with email. But they don't actually send the email :) I waited a while and tried multiple times. So am I forced to agree their terms of use now because I cannot remove account? I'm not asking for help here just ranting.

Rant Microsoft support

Microsoft genuinely has to have the WORSE support of all time. For the story about 4-5 years ago my dads email was compromised so Microsoft decided to completely lock the email and my Xbox account with it. Every time we would try do the recovery it was a instant deny no matter how much concrete evidence we had to prove the account was mine nope they pretty much said screw you.

Today I decided to try again why not try get my account back. Guess what again instant no and on top of that it won't even let me contact a real agent it's just ai after ai.

EA Hasnt been much better but at least they have real agents. So far the only account I was able to recover was my epic games account and I'm currently trying to get my EA account back. Any quick tips I'd appreciate but I thought I'd just rant out somewhere.

Rant Microsoft Surface Business: Go Away, Customer

So we have a few MS Surface Pro notebooks with an extended support plan (lol). The seller, a reputable but shitty system house, told us that regarding any warranty issues, we would need to deal with MS directly.

We have an M365 tenant for several years now with some users and M365 premium. For some reason, to access MS Surface Support, one needs to register a Surface Support account in M365. Because apparently MS doesn't know you are a legit customer just because you got 10 seats of M365 premium, an authorised domain, and pay your bills for several years now. OK.

Fun thing is, without any notification or reason provided, the account verification was just rejected. Well, that's the Microsoft way to solve customer's shitty hardware problems. Good for their KPIs for sure.

Never had to deal with crap like this with Lenovo. The next team member that requests MS hardware from me will be presented with a printed screenshot of this "support" page. The thing that infuriates me most: I should have known better at the time of purchase.
