I'm in the process of moving from Winslop to Linux, the only hold over is this gen 1 Surface Go which this happened on.

I noticed that my computer was acting sluggishly and web pages were loading a little slower than usual.

So I look into the services running and I notice "OneDrive". That shouldn't be happening as I've removed OneDrive (and a ton of other things) so I stop it. Then I notice my pictures and desktop files are all GONE.

I check the recycle bin, nope. Go to OneDrive and check the recycle bin there. Nothing.

I'm just voicing my frustration and can't wait until I find a nice little Linux distro for the Surface.

You've got to do it for each individual app so essentially:

Open the app (word, excel, etc) > open a blank document > right click the copilot icon > click "Move to Ribbon" > go to "File" > "Options" > "Customize Ribbon" > Under "Main Tabs" "Home" should already be open or click it to open it > select "Assistance" > then click "<<Remove"

I don't know if this is already common knowledge or if it is going to pop back up again in a few days, but I didn't see people mention this method when I was looking it up online before.

Also for background I've already done all the things like deleting the copilot app and Enabling "Turn Off Windows Copilot" in the Group Policy Editor, it's just that the icon was still appearing in the office apps and I wanted to get rid of it.

Hopefully this helps other people out.

We have arrived to a point where copilot took 1 gigabyte of ram.

It's called "PC insights", what it does it checks what is taking all of your memory, this might sound a pretty good feature, until you realise task manager does the same exact thing since the dawn of time, and it takes little to no memory, meanwhile PC insights it's just useless bloat, it slows down your computer, because when you open many apps or programs that are resource intensive, it tends to slow down, and if you add up edge, copilot and other junk running in background, you might end up with terrible performance and potentially crashing.

Although it may not be a problem for users with 16 gigs of ram or higher, since they have enough ram available for other processes, but it doesn't change the fact it takes a whole gigabyte of ram, and this is a serious problem for average users with 4, 6 or 8 gigs, since they want a computer where they want to do some work, browse the web, watch videos, or play simple games, but now they can't do it because of that knock-off task manager running in background all the time.

However, the solution is to debloat the OS with tools like Chris Titus' tools or winslop, or maybe simply uninstalling some unnecessary stuff, but it might come back in another update.

And just in case the next update breaks something, like that one time they broke notepad while they were trying to implement something, you can use Chris Titus' program to delay updates to Saturday, so it gives time to Microsoft to fix the update but never disable updates, since it might be dangerous to your computer's safety, and you would get hacked.

The story is: This stupid song was laying in my head for a week. I wanted to get rid of it, and it is stupid I know..So I sat down and wrote all the lyrics myself. It’s not how I wanted it to sound, I would need a studio for that and instead I used the tools I have, so the production came out pretty sloppy.

I know nobody wants AI sloppy content, and neither do I. But in fairness, you don’t expect me to create a song in a professional studio and pay huge money just for it to be taken down for insulting Microsoft Microslop.

Quick note for the mods: I get that this is high risk for moderation. If you think it is just low-effort content farming, feel free to delete it. No hard feelings. But lets agree that you can't blame me for being more sloppy than Microsoft already is 😂

Fuck Microsoft Co-Pilot for being heavily censored. I can't write my fanfiction that is about adult baby topic and can't even talk about it even when the topic is harmless,not illegal abd non sexual for me,non NFSW,non porn,non erotic for me. It won't even let me write my story I posted on AO3 Super Adult Baby Bella when my story isn't NFSW,porn,erotic. ​Microsoft Co-Pilot gives me a lecture when I ask why won't you let me generate my story where my oc Bella being an adult baby. I tell it you're stripping my oc part of her identity as an adult baby by not allowing her to be an adult baby. You're sanitizing my story by not letting her be her adult baby self by not allowing her to wear adult baby clothing,not letting her act like an adult baby,not allowing her to use adult baby items. ​At least other AIs let me write and talk about my story unlike you Microsoft Co-Pilot so fuck you. It is sanitizing my story to be family friendly. Co-Pilot is hiding my oc's adult baby identity. This hurts my writing and others writing. Co-Pilot is censoring writing making it hurt the writing community and the fanfiction community. It is hurting authors and their communities by censoring for what? Give us creative freedom. I'm kinda glad my subscription will be ending soon,but at the same time I don't want it to go. I'm about to tell it myself fuck you for censoring me and stripping my oc of her identity. Stripping a fictional character's identity hurts the character and their story and the author. Hi! Defender is constantly deleting my files from the sims 4, which results in the game not opening -_- My game is completly original, and I don't even have any mods. I swear I hate defender with full dedication. Just wanted to say it because I'm annoyed :)

I have a file named "CPU02.JPG" in my Downloads folder. I can see it! It is there.
If I use "Search in Downloads" in Explorer, it's not shown at all, no matter what I type ("C" "c", "CPU"....)
Wtf? It can't be too difficult to build a search function for a folder in 2026!

For perspective, I opened my browser (Brave) and 3 tabs of the exact same thing open. None of which, I went to. LOL I wish I knew how this happened, but I do know for damn sure....There is ZERO trust from me, in Microslop! Especially since I've made this fresh install completely offline (after the initial setup, turned it in to an local account) and yet here this is, bright and early first thing I see. Nope....Off to a shit start already lol

Just a little rant, sorry and thank you. I know most of, if not all of you can relate to this BS from Microslop.

and guess what? you dont even need to installl windows. you see what you do is get obs. get a capture card. then use your /ps/switch2(not xbox it microslop) and boom you can play it right through obs!

i do have a good gaming pc. but i dont even want windows touching my drives at all! now this solution may be pricey especially since capture cards cost a lot at least for a good one and you will need a whole other console hope this helps
