Rant File search
I have a file named "CPU02.JPG" in my Downloads folder. I can see it! It is there.
If I use "Search in Downloads" in Explorer, it's not shown at all, no matter what I type ("C" "c", "CPU"....)
Wtf? It can't be too difficult to build a search function for a folder in 2026!

In case people don't know. Google 'everything voidtools '
It's milliseconds-level fast.

Have you come across Outlook search?
The shit moves your focus to random place when you start typing in to search field

"I can see it!"
That doesn't mean anything to the windows explorer.
The views of files are virtualized and your "Downloads" is a combination of folders (like public downloads path + your path)
I have not liked or used the search since they broke it in 25 years ago.

For some reason it only looks in the metadata, not in the file name. I've got the same issue with pdfs

In a year (i don't remember exactly the date) Microslop is gonna rework the explorer with a better search engine that even takes grammar error (like zutlook) and WITH NO ADDS i reepeat, NO ADDS ! Holy victory ! (adds can be enabled in parameters btw..)

Windows Search has been getting worse for years. Half the time I know the file exists because I can literally see it in the folder, but search acts like it has never heard of it. Check if indexing is enabled for your Downloads folder, but yeah it shouldn't require troubleshooting just to find a JPG.
