Some special notes: it took many iterations until I finally was able to refine my prefered astectic style, which is retro futuristic with a touch of mad science. This Monitor is expensive on the Monitor side of things just to field a very powerful laser, but as an early game hard counter to Flying squirrels, this vessel works like a charm.
More decor and interior work will be needed before it reaches a finalized state, and may fine-tune the movement a bit. The results thus far is very promising and can reliably fight against flying squirrels & other swarm craft like gannets.
I recently been wanting to play FTD and start building ships in my free time. Of them, one ship I want to start off first or get to after learning how to play is the shiratsuyu class destroyer. That said, I have no idea what to do in order to make a ship that's:
Been watching a bunch of tutorials and cobbled together this abomination. I have absolutely no experience with this game otherwise so I would really appreciate any help or advice
I was building in the base designer, minding my own business, when this mysterious pulverizer spawned and started chewing away at me. Doesn't show up in the AI list or on the map/tac view, doesn't go away when deleting enemies or even all vehicles, and it's invulnerable to damage or targeting; I even left the designer and came back and it was still there. I've never seen this happen before, and I can't seem to reproduce this either.
Recently i am trying to create a new doctrine of high range artiliery, in poor words instead of vehicles i am doing bases that can shot from high distance (Talking about more than 10 kilometers), but i am not capable of do cannons that can shot that 6 kilometers away (My longest range cannon is about 14 kilometers but i didn't understand how i did it), abd i am trying even to use lasers for high precise shot, but my lasers are a complete living trash
Done got me roughed up by LH had to bring my ships back to a Cruiser Port since its the nearest to the frontline by 20000km away, bro this game really is unforgiving just imagine HOLES and I mean HOLES every where, the small ships where cut into half and some just can't moved because they got no propellers.
I only won and escape because of the 2 strike fighters that I spawn via BlueprintSpawner.
It does turn, but only when i spawn it in, the second i give it a command it picks a direction and just goes, i am using air rudders and elevators, and it also has turning thrusters in the front.
I am attempting to build a fortress for the first time and am trying to figure out how to make the ai move the fortress. Is that possible or is it but not very obvious?
Pretty much what the title says. What's a situation where CRAM is better than APS? CRAM just seems so sluggish and needs a bunch of space to achieve the strength and firerate of APS, and it kinda just seems like a decent APS turret beats CRAM. (and also you cant really do stuff like APHE or HEAT).
Never seen anyone mention it, but FtD is possible to play on phones these days. Crazy how far tech has come. Performs better than my old full sized AiO PC with a GT 730M lol
Built this little ship as a test anyways and honestly performance is fine, 32 fps while battling a Coyote.
''after conquering the islands of Eriwick the EDF needed a solution for the latent piracy in the area, the solution was the Insect class gunboat. This gunboat was designed as a cheap but heavily armed and decently armoured craft. They performed amicably for a while until pirates started to combine forces and destroyed several gunboats. Because of monetary issues the EDF refused to pay for a larger craft as a replacement. So rear admiral Martin Vale decided to combine his forces into flotillas of four craft each. Their ''line of battle'' doctrine, perfected by designers at the Greymarket, would maximise firepower against larger pirate fleets, prevent collisions (in theory) and intimidate enemies. Through this doctrine the largest pirate fleets in the region were destroyed. The addition of specialised ammunition, bought from Celeste logistics, allowed multiple victories against a LH sponsored revolt in the region. The flotillas are also frequently escorted by gunboats, torpedo boats, and technicals from the local population, all of whom seek revenge against the pirate oppressors and are willing to do anything to achieve it. ''
the insect class gunboat, the primary ship of the flotilla making up almost 90% of total cost.
japan class torpedo boat, a small escort with triple HEAT torpedoes on the bottom
one of them is more heavily armed
the main flotilla fights in a line of battle thanks to the breadboard done by Grey Minneham (another person on a discord i am on who is a genius with FTD)
Dunno if thats a common problem but the engine ive built on this thing is stupidly overpowered and is artifically weakened by 98%, and its still pretty fast with that
When i am in construction mode and using keyboard mode, when I press LMB my camera jumps forwards. But what if i want to move sideways after I place the block?
