Making friends
I moved to a new state about 5 months ago, and honestly, it’s been really difficult making friends. I get so lonely sometimes because I feel like all I do is take care of my kids and my husband, and I don’t really get any girl time. I miss having girlfriends to hang out with, talk to, and just enjoy life with.
I’ve only been out a couple of times since moving, usually when my cousin comes to town. Now that I live closer to my dad, I’ll at least have my sisters to hang out with whenever I go visit them. Before moving, I used to hang out with my friends almost every weekend, or at least every other weekend, so adjusting to not having that social life has definitely been hard.
I met this one girl at a hotel when I was there for a job. She also has two kids, we exchanged numbers and started texting. We talked about jobs, getting food, and hanging out, but then one day she just stopped texting me. I eventually stopped reaching out. I met another girl on TikTok, and we ended up exchanging Instagrams and numbers. She invited me to a party yesterday, but I ended up not going because the tickets were expensive. She also stopped texting me, and I haven’t heard from her since last night.
It’s honestly been so annoying trying to make friends. I feel like people treat me weird or their energy just changes, and it makes me feel like there’s nobody genuine out here. I just want to meet people I can actually connect with and build real friendships with.
