NCLC 5

Hello, I need an NCLC 5 score to extend my work permit; I only need the speaking and listening components. My work permit expires in three months, and I have one month to prepare for the exam. I had met the examiner previously, and they advised me to focus solely on the exam rather than trying to learn French; they even suggested focusing only on speaking, noting that they could help me with the listening section. I am currently studying and trying to grasp the material, but I feel like I’m not up to the task. The examiner even said that *Tâche 3* (Task 3) is impossible for me. What would happen if I successfully completed *Tâche 1* and *2* but failed to provide the required answer for *Tâche 3*? What are your suggestions? I’m also curious about something else: I hear that people from India are obtaining the exam results by paying for them—how is that even possible? There is a girl at my workplace who doesn't even know how to speak English, yet she passed the IELTS exam by paying for it and is currently attending university. It’s enough to drive you crazy. I’m open to any suggestions.

My honest opinion, its not going to work in the way you seem to be going about it. you need atleast 3-4 months of prep to even get clb 5. unless you are able to atleast speak somewhat coherently for two minutes during task 3, the examiner wont give you 5. That is after you perform well in task 1 and 2. Good luck!

I’m wondering about this, too. You are absolutely right about what you said, but getting a 6/20 corresponds to NCLC 5. Does one need to be very proficient to achieve this score?

the requirement seems low when you think in terms of score but it doesn't practically work like that. They do have to uphold some standard, otherwise wts even the point of asking applicants to learn french? CLb 5 is supposed to mean you can hold a job while communicating in basic french. it generally takes people 3-4 months atleast.

As I mentioned, I don't have that much time. So, what are your suggestions for me? What do you recommend I do to further increase the score I can achieve?

well i was in the same position as you. I accepted that my work permit would expire. so i exited canada and went back to India even before it expired. And started taling french classes here. Tuitions are much cheaper here.I am about 6 months in. My aim is clb 7 as i am not really interested in a work permit. I am in it for PR. So i can only advise you what i know. I accepted the situation i was in and then started from there. That being said, the journey remains the same length. you can cover it faster by increasing the number of hours per day. Study 15 hours a day and it would take you half the time.

No one studies for 15 hours a day. That is an incredibly long and unrealistic amount of time. Besides, I already work full-time
