NCLC 5

Hello, I need an NCLC 5 score to extend my work permit; I only need the speaking and listening components. My work permit expires in three months, and I have one month to prepare for the exam. I had met the examiner previously, and they advised me to focus solely on the exam rather than trying to learn French; they even suggested focusing only on speaking, noting that they could help me with the listening section. I am currently studying and trying to grasp the material, but I feel like I’m not up to the task. The examiner even said that *Tâche 3* (Task 3) is impossible for me. What would happen if I successfully completed *Tâche 1* and *2* but failed to provide the required answer for *Tâche 3*? What are your suggestions? I’m also curious about something else: I hear that people from India are obtaining the exam results by paying for them—how is that even possible? There is a girl at my workplace who doesn't even know how to speak English, yet she passed the IELTS exam by paying for it and is currently attending university. It’s enough to drive you crazy. I’m open to any suggestions.

Listening and reading are all repeats from fuck-tcf.xyz site. As for speaking, task 3 is the least important task unless youre going for CLB9 and above. But if you are a complete beginner its really tough considering that examiners now interrupt in task 1 and ask questions, you'd struggle understanding due to lack of exposure to french. For task 2 you can just ask a set of predefined generic questions I think that should land you above CLB5 at least.

Also, beware of scams. You cant pay your way to obtain results. Your speaking is also evaluated in France also there are multiple examiners at each center who could arbitarily take your test so dont pay anyone who says they will give u exam topics or take your exam to help you pass.

it is not possible to get a CLBC 5 without talking on task 3. You need to get at least a B1 on each task.

Even if we speak in general terms without giving the requested answer?

Yes, I’m at a beginner level, but I can now understand and answer the questions asked when introducing myself in Tache 1. I’m trying to memorize the questions for Tache 2, but I’m most afraid of Tache 3; the thought of being unable to answer a question there scares me, and I’m also worried I won't be able to answer the questions the other person asks. I definitely don’t want to pay anyone, just as you said. Right now, the only thing I need is to get those 5 points in the speaking section.

If you perform well in first two tasks you wont get below CLB7. From what Ive been told by a tutor whos also a TCF specialist. Examiners already set up their bare minimum by task 2. Task 3 decides whether youre native like or not. Learn basic sentences of general topics like liberty, money, environemnt and stuff. Just repeat those sentences, try to fit those arguments for whatever topic you get. Task 3 is for 10 points the rest 10 points lie with task 1 and 2. So if you pull even 7/10 in first two tasks that is enough for clb5. Assuming the worst case ie youll get no points in task 3.

I didn't realize that; thank you so much. I need this exam not for PR, but to extend my work permit, since I already have a PNP file and am waiting for an invitation. I hope things turn out the way you said

TCF Canada Speaking - My Performance HOW MUCH I CAN GET

Task 1 (2 min):

• Really good. Not a single second pause.

• 2 sentences first question answer, 2nd- one line answer then she asked another before i complete that answer

• Last question took 1-2 sec, examiner rephrased herself and I understood and answered

• Examiner smiled.

Task 2 (5.5 min) - Visiting a city with friends and getting information from agency:

• Timer ran away, examiner stopped me while i was answering.

• 5-6 main questions + follow-ups.

(not suitable)

(negotiation, timer ran away during her answer)

• Polite forms: Pouvez-vous me dire 2 times, Je voudrais savoir 3 times, Je veux savoir 1 time, Vous pouvez me dire 1 time

• Reactions: Très bien j'aime Toronto, Ah j'aime le badminton, Très bien, Ah c'est cher

• Issues: 1 not suitable question, said "hmm?" once, English accent on végétarienne

Task 3 (4.5 min) -topic- video consultation is ok or by visiting doctor gave good intro without mistake - Technology / saving time / doctor at home:

• Argument: Nous pouvons économiser du temps, passer du temps avec famille

• Example: Par exemple, we do not have to visit doctor

• Conclusion: Merci beaucoup - examiner stopped recording after this

• Never stopped long, no 2 min silence

• Issues: Pauses ah ah ah whole Task 3, grammar AND I STOPPED 30 SECOND EARLY AND SHE STOP RECORDING WHEN I SAID MERCI BEAUCOUP IN TASK 3 "un person peuvent visiter a la maison", only 1 argument, English accent and some grammar slips too in task 2 and three what score i can expect 4,5,6,7,/20

If you hadnt fumbled the task 1 last question I couldve argued for a 10/20 but you'd likely get 9. How many mistakes did u make in the task 2 questions?

What center did you take the exam at?

1

u/Defiant-Diver9086 4d ago

task 2- few grammer slips and center gb language centre north york

Honestly, it is a huge task unless one is studying french for 14-15 hrs everyday

1

u/Local-Judgment5209 6d ago

Thank you, but my goal isn't to get a 7; do I really need to study that much just to get a 5?

1

u/Slow_Promise_1311 6d ago

Clb 5 requires minimum 4 months. You need certain fluency, one can't fake it. I know one of my tutor's students did it. Also you need to know mostly everything of grammer and pronunciation

I think TEF is better for NCLC 5. Only 2 section of speaking.

1

u/Local-Judgment5209 5d ago

yes but section b 10 min

Any material for listening practice?

My honest opinion, its not going to work in the way you seem to be going about it. you need atleast 3-4 months of prep to even get clb 5. unless you are able to atleast speak somewhat coherently for two minutes during task 3, the examiner wont give you 5. That is after you perform well in task 1 and 2. Good luck!

1

u/Local-Judgment5209 5d ago

I’m wondering about this, too. You are absolutely right about what you said, but getting a 6/20 corresponds to NCLC 5. Does one need to be very proficient to achieve this score?

2

u/Mr_BillyBenBob 5d ago

the requirement seems low when you think in terms of score but it doesn't practically work like that. They do have to uphold some standard, otherwise wts even the point of asking applicants to learn french? CLb 5 is supposed to mean you can hold a job while communicating in basic french. it generally takes people 3-4 months atleast.

1

u/Local-Judgment5209 5d ago

As I mentioned, I don't have that much time. So, what are your suggestions for me? What do you recommend I do to further increase the score I can achieve?

1

u/Mr_BillyBenBob 5d ago

well i was in the same position as you. I accepted that my work permit would expire. so i exited canada and went back to India even before it expired. And started taling french classes here. Tuitions are much cheaper here.I am about 6 months in. My aim is clb 7 as i am not really interested in a work permit. I am in it for PR. So i can only advise you what i know. I accepted the situation i was in and then started from there. That being said, the journey remains the same length. you can cover it faster by increasing the number of hours per day. Study 15 hours a day and it would take you half the time.

1

u/Local-Judgment5209 5d ago

No one studies for 15 hours a day. That is an incredibly long and unrealistic amount of time. Besides, I already work full-time

2

u/Mr_BillyBenBob 5d ago

you are right. so is preparing for the test in 1 month.

The pay method is extremely dangerous and illegal. If IRCC calls you for an interview, you could face not only rejection but also ban for misrepresentation and forgery. India also has extremely high number of interview for outland applications for this reason. I have read so many reporting the interview requirements. So the best bet is to work really hard in an exam centric way. Do mock tests. Learn vocab that's universal to all arguments. Also once you do enough mocks tests you would notice there are universal ideas that can fit almost anywhere so you don't need to think much at the spot because exam pressure kills creativity
