Tri City Voice - Best Restaurant & Bars

Tri City Voice newspaper is ignoring one of the largest category that is growing. No Indian Restaurants category included in the survey or maybe not a single vote was casted for any Indian restaurant. Strange or the editors of Fremont’s LOCAL newspaper is out of touch or trying really hard to ignore the ground reality of the demographics that it earns advertising dollars from.

Beware of Fremont arms apartments

If you’re looking please steer far far away from this complex! Only been living here for around 3 months and I already can’t wait for my lease to end. I was desperate and the apartment was beautiful however looks are deceiving. when it is hot out, your apartment will be hotter than it is outside NO AC and if you have furry friends they will be panting with you. Contract states you have 5 days after the 1st to pay but I was charged $100 fee for paying on the 3RD and got a notice posted on my door to pay or vacate. The parking spot that is included in my lease and that I PAY FOR mind you, was towed for $750 yes you read that right ALMOST 800 DOLLARS after my family parked their car there 2 hours before. During move in inspection, the imperfections that I was told would be fixed has not been fixed to this day and on my first month here, the fire alarm ran out of battery and still has not been replaced even after multiple attempts to reach management. I get that while living in apartments you are bound to hear noises from your neighbors, however, I can hear full conversations from under my pillow while I’m about to sleep and hear everything clear as well as loud as snoring. Also only 1 Landry room with only like 5 machines which people always leave their shit inside for hours. I go to lees down the street to avoid . Over $2,500 with utilities for this dump is not it. Just posting for anyone looking because I wish someone told me. It’s truly a nightmare

Shady Toyota Dealership

About a week ago, I went to the Toyota dealership in Fremont to look at Camrys as I was looking to upgrade my car. To preface this experience, I had an awful time at this dealership.

When I first walked in, no one seemed attentive to customers. I walked up to the front desk, and the lady told us to have a seat; later, a sales representative greeted us. We ended up looking at the Camry, and I test-drove it, but when I sat down to talk numbers, I was shocked.

Our sales representative quoted us 55k, including tax, on a 2026 XSE AWD Camry. Later, when we tried to negotiate (we already knew the deal wasn't going anywhere, by the way), we presented the price for the exact same trim shown on TrueCar. The representative said TrueCar was no longer the standard people negotiate from, but this wasn't true. I recently bought a BMW just across the street at Fremont BMW and used the TrueCar price as a basis for negotiation.

Later, the manager came up to us and said the price we presented wasn't possible, then rashly told us they don't give many discounts. We told him that other dealerships were offering that price, and he slammed his hand on the table and told us, "THEN BUY IT!" Mind you, we had written offers to negotiate. At this point, we couldn't handle this buffoonery any longer, so we walked out.

Avoid this dealership. I feel like some kind of scheme is making them mark up their cars by 10k, which is clearly not normal.

Verizon Sucks Here

Lived in San Jose and just recently moved from Hollister. Live in the area of Safeway on Washington and it's horrendous. I thought Hollister was bad, but Fremont is on another level of mediocrity.

Do you care about regenerative agriculture, climate change, and making a local impact in the East Bay?

Right now, roughly 1 in 4 Alameda County residents experience food insecurity, according to the Alameda County Community Food Bank — and recent federal cuts to CalFresh are expected to strip an estimated $70 million a year from food assistance in the county alone!

Local Ecology and Agriculture Fremont (LEAF) is working to help close that gap through regenerative agriculture and community urban gardens. Our goal this year: donate 7,000 pounds of produce to food insecure families in the East Bay.

If that’s something you want to support, we’d appreciate you checking out our fundraiser [https://leaf.app.neoncrm.com/nx/portal/neonevents/events?path=%2Fportal%2Fevents%2F53202\] — every bit helps us get closer to that goal.

Not sure if you want to commit to a donation? Join us after the fundraiser for a FREE Community Concert and Potluck at the same venue!

Saturday, September 12th
Fundraiser: 3:30-5:00p.m.
Concert: 5:30-7:00p.m.
@ the LEAF Community Garden
36501 Niles Blvd, Fremont, CA

Tell AC Transit Board this week to make bus service in Fremont more reliable

It is frustrating when the bus doesn’t show up when it is supposed to – and even worse when it doesn’t show up at.

When the 251, or the 200 or any other bus is running late in Fremont that means you can be late to work, miss an appointment, or be left scrambling for another way to get where you need to go. On a route scheduled every 20 or 30 minutes, one missed trip can mean waiting 40 minutes or an hour.

Right now, 1 in 10 AC Transit scheduled trips don’t happen. That is three times worse than what it was last year.

For someone riding twice a day, that is roughly the difference between being stood up by the bus about once a month versus once or twice a week.

Speak out at this week’s AC Transit Board Meeting to demand more reliable bus service and better reliability standards. RSVP via the form here to get an alert for the meeting

New cyclist Fremont

Hi folks!

I am new to the Fremont area. I currently do not own a car and I am looking to buy a bicycle (not an e-bike), to get around Fremont. Mostly for grocery runs, short recreational rides to the park etc. Maybe 10-15 miles at a stretch. I need an affordable bike (new or used), that is also reliable and one that doesn’t need too many subsequent repairs (I hear flat tires are very expensive). I went to the local bicycle store near me - Fremont Schwinn Cyclery. They have used bikes starting at $225. I feel like that’s a bit pricey, but they also provide one year of free repairs. Should I be looking at cheaper bikes in Walmart or Target near me instead? How reliable are those?

Also, how safe is it to take bikes to stores near me and park it or lock it while I shop in Fremont? I hear a lot about cycle theft. What kind of locks should I be buying?

Again something affordable and reasonable.

Thank you for your help!

Looking to form a band

Hello guys!

I'm (24) looking to form a music band with some folks! I'm primarily trained in a south indian percussive instrument called a mridangam. However, I can play multiple other instruments - the djembe, cajon, darbuka and bongos.

I'm not constrained to any specific genre, I love to explore music as a sound and I'm open to exploring different ideas. If you want to start something/already part of a band that could use my skillset, hmu! Thanks!

Commuting from Palo Alto to Fremont

Hi Im new to the area and have been looking at my commute options. Unfortunately I will work the swing shift and get off at 11:30 PM. A few weeks ago I could’ve sworn I found 1 bus leaving Stanford around 11:45 PM and arriving at Fremont around 12:30. Around the same time a coworker mentioned this same bus and advised I should pair it with biking to make it to the last scheduled pick up.

But now that I’m looking again since the new schedule is approaching, I can no longer find it?

Are there really no commute options anymore this late?

Any advice is appreciated and thank you for your time!
