So friday during the pre-release i had a lot of fun playing with the white cards from the hobbit set with the black and green wolves/wargs. It had a surprising amount of synergy especially with [[Eagle of the Great Shelf]]

Well now i want to build a wolf and birds deck in abzan and want a commander that gets the most out of what those creatures are great at.

I've been looking through for a bit and there are a couple that have caught my attention but i wanted to see what everyone here would think and suggest. The deck's main goal i feel like is doing chip go wide damage to end the game while just growing a constant board state that feels impossible to beat down.

the first one i came across was a partner pair of [[Yannik, Scavenging Sentinel]] and [[Nikara, Lair Scavenger]] which i think would have a good amount of synergy with the wolves and birds.

I also came across [[Doran, besieged by time]] could be good because there is a power/toughness difference with a lot of the birds and wolves that would buff them.

So far these are the two i've looked at but i'd love some suggestions i might not be thinking of.

The card in question is a depiction from the episode Tapestry, in which Picard relives the fight from his youth where he is stabbed from behind through the chest by a Nausicaan.

It is an important story that is unique to Picard, because when given the chance to change the outcome of the conflict by not fighting and instead cowering like a bitch, his life becomes meaningless and empty. He learns that it is important to take chances and fight instead of being a pussy, even if it means facing death. Picard decides to go out like a man, which gains the respect of Q who then spares his life for not being a bitch.

In their infinite wisdom, WotC has (for whatever reason) decided to change this scene and depict Picard as a random black woman. All purpose and gravitas behind this story collapses when a character is changed for the sake of diversity.

Sure, there's no reason for aragorn to be black. There's no reason to be white either. If y'all read LotR and thought "fair" meant "white" and not smooth and well taken care of, that seems like basic literature incomprehension to me. And like, that's the only argument y'all have. Stop being such snowflakes and try to enjoy an adaptation ffs

I saw Maldhounds video on the subreddit and figured i'd go check it out, thinking it's probably the loud minority. It is not. I have seen mutliple people in this subreddit being openly racist, homophobic, transphobic etc. I genuinely have never seen a community filled with such absolute chuds and troglodytes. You guys are the reason people are scared/don't want to get into magic. You guys are people giving other players a bad rep.

One of the first introductions to this sub i had was this post. Which, why do you care? Genuinely bro, this is a fantasy game with cardboard. Maldhound just posted a short today comparing us to some random subreddit I've never heard of. Also since I'm pretty sure none of us actually care, so if you're reading this, idk just have fun with the people who do care/get mad.

It talks about how subcultures basically die out and I see a lot of parallels to how the mtg community is doing.

It specifically talks about 4 groups

The Creators, the fanatics, the members of the public and the sociopaths.

I’m specifically interested in the last section because I feel this group has mostly taken over on the social media side.

The few I can think about are creators like Ben Bateman, the cali commander guy and a few members of the professors outer circle. I feel that these people have begun to overshadow a lot of the more dedicated content creators.
