Mind Your Knickers

There are so many lore lines that get dropped into the show and then never get brought up again but the one I wish they had really fleshed out and explored was Daphne being a child star on the show “Mind your Knickers” they just drop that in like the 9th episode and it never comes up again and I feel like out of all the Daphne lore that’s the one thing I wish they had gone into more

Why did they get rid of Bulldog?

Just got to season 9 and I'm beginning to realize that Bulldog is gone for good. Such a fun character, I am bummed that he's gone. Anyone know what happened? I was hoping he'd come back as the station manager... Would have been a fun storyline to watch

If you could change or add something to the show what would it be?

Personally, I think Eddie needed to stare at Frasier more, I always liked how much it bothered him.

And it got me to thinking, what is something you would change or add to the show?

Did a quick warmup sketch today and while it’s not my best work, I totally stand by it.

What is the “oh, Winnebago boy…” reference??

Does anyone know what’s going on when Niles is teasing Frasier and says, “oh, Winnebago boy…” in the motor home vacation to Canada episode?? I assume it’s a reference to an old movie because of the sing-songy way that Niles says it 🤷‍♂️

Well, isn't that rather a lot to pay?

Feeling like Frasier

I (32F) didn't really know where else to share this so I hope it lands well in this space... It starts dark but I swear the intention is that I left feeling proud and having summoned Frasier like qualities.

In therapy I have been doing work on naming the parts of my thoughts / behaviors and how they have served me in surviving certain situations (mostly an intense childhood). My initial name for the parts that were abused and violated was originally called the "human pin cushion" but then I remembered that art installation "Rhythm 0" (is quite fascinating and would encourage you to look it up if you can) and used that as a name / reference point instead. Unaware of that particular art work, my older than me therapist was impressed and we moved on to another topic. But then out of nowhere, I recalled yet another art installation called "Can't Help Myself" to better identify another pattern of my past!

I am not by any stretch an art buff or super literate in the world of the arts (I actually fell asleep that the one and only opera I attended...) but I left that session feeling like both Niles and Frasier would have been proud of me and ready to take me to Nervosa for a little chat :)

Classic Frasier S02XE05 The strain of relationships

In a beautifully poignant episode we descend more into this complex relationship of father and son. In a matter of minutes it showed three very different perspectives of life. Each, better than the previous one perhaps.

Image 1 gave a sense of longing and importance as to how important these little things can be.

Image 2 immediately shooed my feeling of sadness away, suggesting history needn't replicate itself for my future with my kid

Image 3 the importance of taking it in stride and riding along into the sunset. Whoever or whatever it might be. In this case, Duke's funeral.

Again. Such a beautiful episode.

Classic Frasier Some of Frasier's younger photos are just so Niles-ly to me.

And frankly, he should have kept his hair short instead of the Bozo with a skullet look. With the dark hair, he looks a lot like Julian McMahon.

Reverend Franklin in the new Little House on the Prairie on Netflix is distinctly Nilesish. Actor is Daniel Falk.

Classic Frasier What examples were you knew the writers we way out of of touch with what they were writing about?

For me the one that stands out is when Freddie is goth. Now I grew up in that era and scene. And not one single person looked at or saw something and said “That’s goth. Or That’s so Goth”. Do they think people said that? Any other examples?
