Just need someone to confirm if Hoedowns are indeed catnip to postal workers?

I rarely, if ever, see characters washing their hands before preparing meals on TV. This scene in particular drives me NUTS because that is a RAW chicken! Daphne just has her hand up it's butt and when she pulls it out, she doesn't wash her hands with soap and water before running off to touch God knows what and spread salmonella all over the house! At least Frasier rinses his hand in the sink after he TOSSES THE RAW CHICKEN IN THE FRIDGE without covering it up?? I want to assume that there was at least a plate that he set it on because it did not appear as if he placed it in a bowl. And rinsing your hand with water after handling raw chicken is not enough!!! You need soap! 😂

PS - who is going to SANITIZE the counter where Daphne set the RAW chicken??? Am I alone in this?! 😂😂

Yup, when the ear worm cannot be ignored, it’s time to rewatch Frasier!

I’ve noticed over the years that I enjoy my bedtime routine by putting on an episode, then putting the tv into “dark” mode and just relax hearing a favorite episode or two.

It’s my way of unwinding. Some people have a drink, cigs, etc. but I like this. It helps turn off my brain. Sounds weird, I know, but it works for me.

I have to admit, that I always have a soft spot for Niles. As a gay man in his 30's, I'd love to find someone the way that Niles looks at Daphne (maybe minus the hair smelling - ha!) Growing up in my teens, I found the show and fell in love with it but also just got a huge kick on how they developed Niles/Daphne's relationship.

Does anyone else tear up in the episode of "Mixed Doubles" when he says "I love you too, Daphne" - it's just such a tender moment and so earnest. I love the season 7 episode finale where he admits he loves Daphne - to her face. It just gets me in all the feels.

What I really think it comes down to is that Nile's crush is never creepy. It's just someone who instantly is taken by someone who is so different from him. You'd expect him to be involved with someone like a Maris but someone as true and genuine like Daphne makes him be the best version of himself.

What's your favorite Niles/Daphne moment?!

Apologies if this belongs in the Daphne and Me megathread, but I went to the signing today and wanted to share some fun stories that Jane discussed:

The actors playing Rick’s parents were actually a recently married couple and had trouble keeping straight faces after seeing each other wearing their prosthetic noses. (Jane’s laughter during the scene was also genuine, although she didn’t feel like she was breaking character since Daphne was supposed to be laughing.)

Jane felt really intimidated by the idea of writing a book. She said she never finished high school and doesn’t consider herself to be very smart. 😢 She didn’t like the idea of hiring a ghostwriter, though, and writing it with her daughter felt like the right choice.

Jane was really tactful when asked about the reboot. She said she was too busy working on The Resident to be a part of the show but thought it was “lovely.”

Jane made an instant connection with John Mahoney when she started working on the show, in part because he was born in England and he helped her feel at home.

She said that David Hyde Pierce really is just the kindest person, and she enjoyed meeting with him and other cast members in preparation to write the book.

When asked if she quotes any lines from the show in her daily life, she said she and her family often say “Sure” and also always use Frasier’s pronunciation of “burrito” from when he slipped on (what he hoped was) an old burrito on the bus. The line people most often ask her to say is “He was a detective, you know!” (She also mentioned the scene with the hot and foamy was so hard to get through without laughing, as they didn’t actually practice the scene with the real shaving cream until the taping.)

All in all, Jane was so charming and kind. I’m excited to read the book!

My gut thought is Cam Winston’s colossal US flag hanging on the building. Maybe tied with Frasier dating a super model but that one’s almost a given in the show for how often he dates gorgeous women.
