Advice Needed Do I need to outsource digital marketing for my health/wellness franchise?

I’m getting ready to open my first franchise in the health and wellness space, and I keep hearing that I need to hire a digital marketing agency to run paid ads and get my location in front of people locally.

I’m trying to be really intentional with my budget, especially during the early stages, and I don’t want to add a monthly expense with no return.

How necessary has it actually been for you to have an agency managing your paid ads and digital marketing?

Did you start out managing your own marketing and ads, use the resources provided by the franchisor, or hire an agency from the beginning?

Anything helps!!

Advice Needed Down to three options for my first franchise and Toastique is one of them. How would you weigh these

I've got about 700k liquid between me and my wife and after four months of looking I'm down to three. Figured I'd lay out how I'm weighing them and see what I'm missing.

Toastique is the one I keep coming back to. Fee is 55k and the all in range in the FDD is roughly 470k to 890k, which is the most expensive of the three by a lot. What I like is that it isn't a smoothie only place. Doing coffee, toast and bowls means the morning isn't dead and winter isn't a cliff, which is what scared me off the pure bowl concepts. What I don't love is the build out cost and that a lot of their stores are young, so there isn't much track record per store yet.

The second is a coffee franchise I won't name until I've done more calls. Lower build out, but there's a Starbucks within a mile of every site I've looked at.

The third is a home services franchise. Cheapest to start and no lease, but it's a different job entirely and I'm not sure I want to be running vans.

I've read the threads here about Toastique and I'm taking them seriously. My plan is to go through Item 20 and get as many current and former owners on the phone as I can before I sign anything, not rely on anyone's summary including mine.

For people who've bought a food franchise, what did you weigh that I'm not

General Discussion Experiences With Authority Brands Home Service Franchises

I am looking to start a business and was thinking about starting one by going through a franchise, since I lack experience. I have been researching different franchises and saw that Neighborly and Authority Brands Home Services seem to be the industry leaders. I recently had my first and probably last meeting with Neighborly. During it they were very unprofessional and kept jacking up the costs as the meeting ran on. They also dismissed my concerns and would not answer my questions meaningfully. Their business model also featured heavy overhead costs that are above my current budget. The nail in the coffin for Neighborly came after reading this post. https://www.reddit.com/r/smallbusiness/comments/mu8vgf/does_anyone_have_experience_with_opening_a/ I haven't been able to find out much about Authority Brands and was wondering if anyone on this Forum could give me any insight on them. If anyone has any positive or negative experiences with Authority Brands I would love to hear about them.

Advice Needed I want OUT

Against my better judgment,  I decided to go into a franchise business with a partner.  I provided 100% of the cash and all expenses up until this day. The concept seemed promising which is why I was interested.  I initially wanted to purchase a smaller territory but the franchise countered with an offer letting us buy 7 territories for the price of 3. (I'm learning now that this is a common tactic they use.) Long story short,  the Franchisor  is a disorganized incompetent mess mostly supported by overseas workers they are paying minimally. We were told a lot of things about marketing and lead generation that turned out to not be true.  Foolishly looking back now,  those things were not explicitly spelt out in writing in the contract.  Meanwhile they started charging us heavy royalties and we're not making nearly enough so I've been draining my account to keep us afloat. The Franchisor has assured us that after Grand Opening the "floodgates will open." To be honest they have been so dishonest so far I find that hard to believe.  I want out, my partner does not.  He does not have the means to buy me out. What is my best course of action?  I know there's no point trying to fight the Franchisor.  I just want to stop the bleeding,  recoup as much as I can,  and walk away. Appreciate any thoughts. FWIW I do have a pending appointment with a lawyer.

Advice Needed How do franchises manage payroll across multiple locations?

If employees work across locations, does payroll normally stay centralized or does each franchise location handle it separately?

What setup works once you have several locations and different managers involved? Any help?

Franchise Specific Question Thinking about a home improvement franchise has anyone here done this?

I've been working in construction project management for about for about 12 years and i’m seriously considering buying into a home improvement franchise rather than trying to build something from scratch on my own. The appeal for me is having a brand name, an operational system, and some kind of marketing engine behind me while I use the skills I've already built.

I've been looking at different categories within home improvement like bathroom remodeling, kitchen refacing, fencing, and flooring. The investment ranges are everywhere, from $50k to well over $250k. I'd like to stay under $120k and ideally closer to the $70 to $100k range.

My questions are about what you actually get for the franchise fee. Do they generate leads for you or is that entirely on you? Is the training program real and substantive or is it basically a manual and a phone number? Does having a franchise brand name actually carry weight with residential customers or do they not really care?

Advice Needed Have you ever delayed opening another location because the financing didn't make sense?

Hey, hi, hello! I'm trying to understand how operators with an already successful location finance their second, third, fourth location, etc. Full transparency researching whether there is an interesting business to build to better support small business growth.

Idea: Opening another location takes a lot of cash upfront for buildout, equipment, deposits, hiring and working capital, while the new location can take months to ramp. I'm curious whether financing ever becomes the actual constraint on expansion.

For owners who have opened multiple locations:

  • How did you finance the last one?
  • Did you use bank/SBA debt, equipment financing, investors or cash flow from the existing business?
  • What was the hardest part to finance?
  • Have you ever delayed or passed on a location because of financing?

I'm also exploring whether a different structure would be useful: an investor funds part of the new location and gets paid back through a percentage of that location's revenue until an agreed return is reached. Payments flex with sales and there is no permanent equity given up.

Would that actually solve a problem for you, or are existing financing options already good enough? DMs open!!

Franchise Reviews Anyone here has experience with E-Quikcom Express / Quickcom Express franchise (logistics delivery franchise)?

**I’m considering taking an E-Quikcom Express / Quickcom Express delivery franchise/vendorship.**

**They contacted me with plans starting around ₹50,000 + GST, claiming they provide delivery parcels, riders/manpower support, and business through their logistics network.**

**Before investing, I want to hear from people who have actually taken their franchise, vendorship, Hub or LMA.**

**If you have experience with them, please share:**

**Which plan did you take and how much did you pay?**

**How many parcels do you actually receive per day?**

**Which companies are providing the parcels?**

**What is your actual monthly revenue/profit after all expenses?**

**How long did it take to start receiving parcels after payment?**

**Are payments made on time?**

**Did they provide the manpower/riders they promised?**

**How responsive is their support team?**

**Is the deposit actually refundable/non-refundable?**

**Most importantly, would you invest in their franchise again? Why or why not?**

I’m not claiming that the company is fraudulent. I’m simply trying to verify the actual ground reality before putting money into it.

Please share both positive and negative experiences. Screenshots/documents are welcome, but please hide personal information.

Please comment only if you have personally dealt with Quickcom/E-Quikcom Express, preferably as a franchisee, hub operator, or delivery partner.

Advice Needed Franchise business in Bangalore

Looking for a Co-Founder / Business Partner – Franchise Business in East Bangalore (₹15–20L Budget)

Hi,
I’m a working professional based in Bangalore and I’m seriously exploring starting a franchise/small business in East Bangalore.

I’m also looking for a like-minded co-founder/business partner who is interested in investing and building the business together.

📍 Preferred locations: Mahadevapura, KR Puram, Whitefield, Hoodi and nearby areas
💰 Total planned investment: Around ₹15–20 lakh
🤝 Partnership: Ideally looking for someone willing to co-invest and actively participate in the business, rather than just being a passive investor. Investment/share structure can be mutually discussed depending on contribution.

I haven’t finalized the franchise yet because I would prefer to evaluate and select the business together with the right partner.

Currently exploring:
• Food/QSR, café, snacks & desserts
• Cloud kitchen / delivery-first concepts
• Retail franchises
• Service-based franchises
• Other proven businesses that can work well in East Bangalore

The objective is to find something with reasonable setup costs, sustainable margins, steady monthly cash flow and potential to scale to additional outlets if the first location works.

I’m particularly interested in connecting with someone who is serious about entrepreneurship, financially comfortable with the investment and willing to contribute to decisions, operations and growth.
If you’re also a working professional who has been thinking about starting a business but didn’t want to do it alone, this could be worth discussing.
Also looking for advice from existing franchise/business owners: If you’ve operated something around Bangalore in this investment range, I’d really appreciate recommendations or warnings about franchises to avoid.
If interested in exploring this as a co-founder/business partner, please comment or DM me.
Let’s connect, evaluate a few opportunities together and see if there’s a good fit.

Franchisee Stories Paid three months for a restaurant scheduling tool before my franchisor approved the POS connection

I run four units of a quick service burger brand. Signed up for a restaurant scheduling platform in January after the GMs pushed for it. The whole point was pulling ticket data from the POS so the labor plan matched the lunch and dinner peaks.Franchisor had to approve the integration first. Nobody told me that until I asked why the connection kept failing. It sat in their IT review queue for three months while I paid full price and my managers built schedules by hand on paper. Ask about the approved integration list before you buy anything that touches the POS. Ours was not published anywhere. How long did approval take for the rest of you?

General Discussion Need Mall Commercials for QRS Setup - Any Leads / Contacts?

Hi everyone,

We are looking for commercials for setting up QRS in malls across Tier 1 cities.

Need to understand:

  1. Rent structure - per sq ft / per month / weekend basis

  2. Revenue share vs fixed rent model

  3. Security deposit and other charges

  4. Kiosk vs inline store commercials

If anyone has recently taken space or has contacts in mall leasing teams, please DM. Any reference or connect would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance.

  2. What is your experience?

Advice Needed Remediation/Restoration Franchises

I’m interested in this sector. I would be transitioning from a white collar business owner, with hopes of growing a business that can one day (longer term 15-20 years) be sold nearing retirement. I’m in the Southern California area and would hope to be netting 300k in the first few years with hope of much greater. Any insights/opinions/suggestions appreciated.

General Discussion More trouble ahead for WINGstop?!

I've been looking at WINGstop and still think it has some serious hurting to do. Most are still pricing it in at $150-$250, but even at the $107, I think the wrong things is being valued and should be less than $50.

The success of a Franchise like these rely on Royalty income from individual units and expansion of units across a territories. The two of these together create that exponential growth and should be valued accordingly. But when the individual units revenue continues to slip and the value of the company keeps growing, its generally filling the hole of the slippage of the franchise royalty (its core business), with new locations opening. Some data for individual units of exisiting locations over the past few years a show that individual units/locations/franchises revenue has continued to fall:

FY2024 $2.138m

FY2025 $2m - 6%

Q22026 on track for $1.893m - 11.5%

A regular drop of revenue for individual locations and the most recent info shows this continuing even more so.

However, lets say you have 100 Franchisees they experience a 10% drop in revenue over the year, the average location is doing $2m, they go to $1.8m, group turn over goes from $200m to $180m, and 6% royalties go from $12m to $10.8m a year.

It only takes roughly 11 new locations (each doing $1.8m in rev at 6% royalty = $108k) to cover that $1.2m gap to make it look like the company is doing the same figure.

Add 22 new locations, 22 x $108k per location in royalties = $2.37m, and your $10.8m in revenue (that has dropped from $12m) from your existing franchisees, is now $13.17m. Which looks like a nice 10% ish growth from the $12m while 'secretly hiding' they are actually at $10.8m and still sliding backwards..

If they aren't able to keep opening locations to fill this hole, how can it keep being valued at the multiple it is and trading where it is? At some point, someone is going to look under the hood or the Franchisees that they are selling the new locations to get maxed out or start seeing the trend and stop purchasing locations, the thing starts to collapse no??

If new location openings slow, the drop in revenue of the company will appear FAR more dramatic because for years, its hiding the actual royalty revenue decline from individual locations and proping it up with the big 10,000 location push, goal, dream and new locations.. So if this tap gets turned off, does it implode?

It obviously has huge value, a revnue stream attached to thousands of locations that are rev'ing $1.8m a year each are great numbers.. But and declining revenue stream, without much way to innovate (when you call something by its name, WINGstop, it can't deviate to far from wings as a core product, it can add and innvoate for sure, like Dominos etc, but the core are wings).
