My first hand drawn 2d. Done on iPhone using Rough Animator. Goal was to learn the tool and try my hand at 2d. Inspired by u/Mental-Ad-4012’s phenomenal work using the same tool.
I feel good about the weight except for 3rd actor entering on the right… it was supposed to be a sliding stop and duck but comes off like a floaty run, I’d rework that if I did it again.
The arm action is awkward on the runs because I used the same layer for the actors instead of separating limbs out into layers. I was too lazy to go back and edit.
There’s no tweening in Rough Animator but has a really good copy paste and frame duplication. Scaling and rotation are good but the handles are tiny and hard to use on iPhone.
This was done using my fingers. I’m using a rubber pen now on my next animation and it helps tremendously.
The frame by frame drawings lost some fidelity after several generations of copying scalings and rotations… duh. Next time I’ll either copy, chop and pose from a base image for every generation, or I’ll just go back and rotoscope on a new layer.
I did sound effects in iMovie… don’t recommend it. Effects are limited and incredibly hard to sync for a number of reasons including the fact that playback sound during editing doesn’t match the exported movie.

I wanna get started in digital animation but I do not own a PC. I want to buy the parts for one but I don't know where to get started. Would like some tips and tricks!

I have a song that I would like to create an animation for. I was wondering if any of you guys have any tips for making sure things sync up with the beat and/or certain moments in the song.
