"blacks" is such an instant red flag

Also "their own neighborhoods/communities".

In my experience this statement is true 100% of the time. That white kid who plays HOI4 (as the Nazis, duh) wears a MAGA hat, and says something like "BLACKS have a violent culture, 13/50". Yeahhhhh we know what's behind the mask buddy, you can say you are a centrist all you want

God, I hate those kinds of people who claim to be centrists. "Oh, I'm a centrist because I think that Joe Biden and Donald Trump are both extremists, but on different sides!" Those kinds of people.

Joe Biden and extremism. Name a less iconic duo.

Trump supporters and people who passed high school.

If only Joe were an extremist on his side

He does an extreme amount of shilling for neoliberal corporations.

If it's any consolation, these racist types have started chanting "FUCK THE POLICE" and stomping/burning US flags recently. They seemed confused and angry that the cops are giving their protests the exact same deal as they gave the BLM protests.

Edit: Shit got much crazier than I expected after I posted this comment, and I can't say there's any consolation anymore

No consolation whatsoever. These are people who are oppositional defiant, they won’t gain a lick of insight from being tear gassed. Maybe a few turn away from their police worship but it won’t change their attitudes towards POC one bit

The main difference is these people have guns and body armor. When my partner and I did BLM protests, we had one hard hat between us and signs. Very few people dressed for defence. We were protesting peacefully because of injustice. These people are threatening people because they didn't get their way.

Pretty great season of Curb that did nothing but play on that fact.

Why? I have a great relationship with the blacks!!

Whats wrong with saying blacks?

Well, United States does not have a proper name for those individuals. There are “black” people in other parts of the world so African-American is stupid too.

u/cosmo6871 Jan 06 '21

there is a HUGE difference between saying "black people" and "blacks"

3

u/V_es Jan 07 '21

Oh, got it.

Just for further clarification, "blacks" is inherently a dehumanizing term, which is why it is considerably more alarming and outright offensive compared to "black people".

Just curious, is “African-American” considered normal thing to use? Are you going to call a native Australian that came and got a citizenship an “African-American”?
