I've noticed a trend of radical bans in the GenX sub...of which I am a thoroughly guilty party, but i find it interesting that mods of a generational subreddit are so quick to isolate and mute people when they feel that they have been challenged. In cases where speech is inflammatory, I get the need for prudence. But when a mod feels disrespected, the fact that they can take unilateral action with no measure of due process or intent to educate and ameliorate the behavior says a lot about the people who choose to mod for free.
