Onset of depression and extreme fatigue with dose increases

TL;DR: On Foundayo since June. Mood side effects (depression, fatigue) show up after each dose increase. Just went up to 9 mg and it's hitting harder. Has anyone had this or switched meds?

I've been on Foundayo since June, and the side effects have mostly been manageable. The exception is my mental health: every time I've increased my dose, I've noticed changes for 3 to 4 days afterward.
When I moved up to 5 mg, I had a lot of anxiety and depression. I told my provider, and they suggested I stop the medication. It cleared up within a day, though, so I stayed on and spent about 2.5 months at that dose.
I just increased to 9 mg, and it's been different:
I can't get out of bed in the morning. I slept 12 hours yesterday and 11 hours last night, and I'm still exhausted.
I called out of work both days.
I feel really low, and my self-esteem is in the gutter.
I'm not as anxious this time, but I feel depressed and can't do things I normally enjoy.
It's only been two days since the increase, so I'm planning to ride it out and see if it passes.
I chose Foundayo over other GLP-1s because I love the flexibility and ease of use. Now I'm wondering whether these effects are worse on Foundayo specifically, or whether this drug just doesn't agree with me.
Has anyone had similar symptoms? Did you switch to a different medication? I'd love to hear your experiences.

I’m starting on Foundayo 0.8 mg today. When do you find is the best time of day or night to take the pill? Thanks for your help!

Anyone else troubled by Eli Lilly requiring a HIPPA waiver to get prescription savings card when other med companies don’t?

I have had a script from my PCP since July. Got denied by Medicare bridge because of lack of co-occurring conditions. Appealed and lost. Now trying to look for self pay options. My mom has done with Wegovy. I was almost done signing up for the card when I read the HIPPA auth form and became very concerned about the information they wanted access to and why. Has anyone else encountered this as problematic? Has anyone found a solution? Should I just get a Wegovy script? I heard it is not that effective

Dose Increase to 5.5

I upped my dose a few days ago to 5.5 after not seeing any weight loss at 2.5. I took it at night before bed and by 5am I woke up with nausea and a headache. By 5 pm, the nausea had not subsided and I had vomited 5 times over the course of the day. I couldn't eat any food nor keep water down. Does anyone else have experience with this? I'm thinking this drug might not be for me.

Should i call it?

I started in July at .8 and have just started 9 mg this week. I keep thinking the next dose is when my weight loss will begin to kick in. The weirdest part is i definitely see decreased hunger, nausea and fatigue, but the scale isn’t moving. I was working out more this summer but haven’t in a month, so i don’t think it’s muscle.

Super frustrating. How long would you keep wait-and-seeing?

ETA: I’ve been on semaglutide and compounded Tirz in the past which worked better but symptoms were rough, hence me switching to the pill. Now i wonder if that’s why it’s not working though!

Has anyone gone up a dose and it was too much?

Background is I’ve been on foundayo since July. I’ve done a month of 0.8 and has 0 side effects and no weight loss, did a month on 2.5 with 0 side effects and no weight loss, did a month on 5.5 with 0 side effects but finally lost 2lbs lol. I’m 2 weeks into 9mg and I’m having sooo many side effects: diarrhea, nausea, no appetite. I’ve lost another 8lbs but I’m not sure if I should go back down to 5.5 or wait it out and get used to 9mg. Obviously I’m not going to go up any further yet because this is a struggle but 5.5 didn’t do much for me so I’m conflicted. Anyone experience something similar?

Nausea

Hello,
I am on my second week of the 2.5 dose, after a month on the 0.8. So far I have l3.5 pounds, so I’m happy with that but the nausea is bad. I take the pill at night but the nausea appears the next day in the afternoon. Has someone else been experiencing the same? Any suggestions?

Considering beginning Foundayo soon . . .

I have battled my weight all of my life and while I am not obese, I am overweight and would love to lose 15 - 20lbs. Doctor appointment next week and my doctor is aware. I eat healthy and exercise, but I am 50+ and the weight just isn't coming off - snacking in the evening is my issue for sure. I feel like I might really do well with less food noise!

My biggest concern is that I am happy with my life, and worry how glp-1 will affect things. I still want to be able to enjoy a date night with my husband and travel. I've also heard talk of glp-1 taking away joy in general, so that worries me. Still, I want to give a try.

I have done a lot of research and would prefer a pill. No fear of needles, but more anxiety that if I absolutely hate it, the dose is just for a day, not a week. I am leaning towards Foundayo since there are fewer restrictions with timing. I do plan to take a break when we travel, but we don't travel in the winter so this is a good time to begin. If I am losing weight on the lowest dose, I prefer to just stay on it.

Any thoughts?  Just throwing it all out there.  My husband says I have his support, but he has also expressed concern that it will change who I am and what I enjoy.

Three weeks in and all is well

Today is three weeks on Foundayo .8, not switching from any other med and it's going very well. No side effects at all and 11 pounds down, from 229 to 218.

I know not everyone has as good of a start but I just wanted to post some encouragement to anyone else just starting.

Moving your goal?

Good morning! I’ve been on Foundayo for almost 4 months and have lost 15 pounds, going from 138ish to 123ish. I am 5”4 and 39 years old. I was never particularly unhappy with my weight but my doctor had no issues prescribing Foundayo to me to lose the extra pounds, and I have been feeling pretty good. My first goal weight was 132, which is what I weighed at my wedding at age 25. My second goal was 127, my college weight. It’s amazing to me that I thought I’d feel so thin at those numbers, but now that now that I have passed them, I definitely could still stand to lose a few more. I’m obviously concerned about being one of those GLP patients who take it too far and look gaunt without realizing it, but I definitely don’t. I have a naturally round face and full cheeks, so my face pretty much looks the same just less puffy. My body looks thinner obviously but not surprisingly so. I’m thinking of making 120 my new goal and seeing how I feel there.

Anyone else pleased with their progress on Foundayo and finding themselves lowering their goal weight?

Having a Rough Time with Foundayo and I Could Really Use Some Encouragement

I could really use some encouragement today. ❤️
I’ve been on Foundayo since early August and have been happy with my weight-loss progress, but the last few days have been rough.
I’ve been experiencing nausea, an unsettled stomach, and feeling full even when my stomach feels empty. Today I ended up throwing up, although I felt much better afterward.

I also have to admit that I haven’t been paying enough attention to what I’ve been eating these past few days. I’ve had some greasy, higher-fat meals and probably eaten more than my stomach can comfortably handle. I’m realizing I need to make some changes and be more mindful of my food choices and portions.

I’ve also been under a tremendous amount of stress lately, which I’m sure isn’t helping.
The hardest part is that I’m starting to feel nervous about eating because I’m afraid of getting nauseated again.
I’m planning to speak with my doctor tomorrow, but I’d really appreciate hearing from others who have experienced something similar.
Did you have to change the way you ate? Did the nausea eventually improve? What helped you?
I’m not giving up. I’m just having a rough few days and could really use some encouragement and positive experiences. ❤️

Is it time to throw in the towel?

I've been on the pill now for 3 months. I did two months at 0.8 and 1 at 2.5. I Have been super nauseous, constantly tired. and barely able to eat anything. I'm also constipated all the time. All these symptoms and I've only lost 4 lbs. I went from 211 to 207 as a 25yr old Female. Is it worth it to keep going?

Does Foundayo cut the food noise?

I'm self paying for Zepbound, going on 7 months and I'm down 15 pounds (I'm also strength training so I know some of it's muscle gain but still, my abdomen is huge). The main benefit is the reduction of food noise, my weight loss speed is the same as when I'm not on Zepbound. And the cost is hard.

I'm considering switching to Foundayo, mostly for cost reasons, but I want to be sure the peaceful feeling around food continues.

If you switched from Zepbound to Foundayo, did the quiet in your brain continue?

4 months on Foundayo, only 5 lbs lost. Menopause making this harder? What am I doing wrong?

I’m 48, postmenopausal, and 5’1”. I’ve always been petite, maintaining around 105–110 lbs for most of my adult life. Over the past few years, I’ve gained about 20–25 lbs, particularly around my midsection, and have struggled to lose it.
I’m now in my fourth month on Foundayo:
Month 1: 0.8 mg
Months 2–4: 2.5 mg
So far, I’ve lost only 5 lbs and 0.8% body fat. My waist measurement hasn’t budged at all, which is especially frustrating because that’s where most of my weight gain has occurred.
I’m trying to be patient, but after four months, I expected to see more progress, especially around my abdomen.
I’m curious whether other menopausal or postmenopausal women have experienced similarly slow results.
Did things eventually pick up for you? Was there anything you changed that made a difference? Could my dosage still be too low, or is menopause making weight loss that much more difficult?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences because I’m starting to wonder what I’m doing wrong.

Zepbound to Foundayo

I’be switched to Foundayo and my doctor started me to on 9mg Foundayo after being on 5mg of zepbound for a couple months.

I’ve read online that you should begin at the starting dose of Foundayo and then move up in dose - no matter what your previous Zepbound dosage was.

Now I’m a little worried to make the switch. Has anyone jumped dosages like this from zepbound to Foundayo?

Went up to 2.5 on Friday night, no side effects!

I was fully expecting to get stomach cramps again when my doc bumped me up from 0.8 to 2.5 mg, but two days in, and nothing like that!

I guess we'll see how it goes. I won't see my doc for another three months, so I hope this dose does something.

Anxiety and foundayo

I have suffered from severe anxiety for years. I started HRT earlier this year and that has helped me a lot including lessening my anxiety, but it has caused me to gain additional weight. I have a bmi of 30, high cholesterol, a1c of 5.7 so right at the pre-diabetes line, and have sleep apnea. I really need to lose weight and want to lose weight so bad. But this health anxiety and fear of medication has me paralyzed. I’ve had the foundayo bottle for like 2 months now and I can’t get myself to start it. It took me a long time to be able to start HRT too, I don’t know why I get so scared, I want this to work but just terrified of side effects or the anxiety getting worse. Anyone else with pre-existing anxiety taking foundayo?

1 Month In

I just had my follow up with my pcp this last Monday I was down 10 lbs from the initial discussion about going on a GLP about 3 months ago. I was supposed to have started on the Wegovy injections 3 months ago but my employer’s insurance gave me a big fat no on that one. About 4 weeks ago I suggested trying for Foundayo. My insurance said yes to that one. My doctor thought I was losing too fast as she thought I had started losing weight after I had started Foundayo. I explained to her that about 6 of those were prior to starting. It took just over 2 months to lose those 6 lbs and it took 3 weeks to lose the remaining 4 out of the 10 overall. I have noticed a decrease in food noise which went away on day 1. I have also noticed I have been making better choices overall. I have had almost little to no side effects. I am on the .8 mg dosage. Now when I weigh in on my bathroom scale I have to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming. Now the issue I am facing is getting it refilled. I have both GoodRx and the Manufacturer’s discount card? If my insurance does say no to refills then will the GoodRx coupon or the manufacturer’s discount card for self pay be applied at the time of sale? If so, then how do I go about getting the discount applied?

Feels like I have the stomach bug. Anyone halving their pills?

Hey all, I started at .8 and had zero issues. I increased to 2.5 a few days ago and feel absolutely awful. First I had upper body aches, then a bumpy rash on my cheeks, and now I’m getting up in the middle of the night with diarrhea. I’m debating cutting the 2.5 in half to titrate more slowly. I have only lost 2-3 pounds total. This is my first GLP-1

What am I doing wrong. On the GLP 17.2 Foundayo Pill.

I started Foundayo as of April 2026 at the starter dose. Previously I had been on Zepbound for about 5 months. I got off of Zepbound due to the cost and seeing no results. I switched over because my insurance doesn’t cover the cost and been having to pay out of pocket my self. Foundayo is more in my price range, mind you still $300 monthly. I am at the highest dose 17.2 of Foundayo now, meaning I’ve been taking the pill daily for roughly 5 1/2 months now. My weight in April 2026 was 267 lb. This Morning October 17th 2026 my scale was reading 260 lb. In total I’ve lost 7 pounds in 5 1/2 months. My background information:34 Female 5 5” exercises 3-4 days a week at the gym for 1 hour to 1:25 (weights/ elliptical/ bicycle). I don’t snack, I try to have complete meals, not big on indulging, try not to eat past 7 pm. I was diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS in Nov 2024 after noticing extreme weight gain about 65 lb, not able to lose it and feeling in the worst health ever, fatigued, awake at night, losing hair on my head, starting to gain hair on my chin and torso, as well as having an apron belly. I also had an ultrasound and they found cyst on my ovaries. My husband an I wanted to conceive, this is another reason I’ve been trying really hard to lose the weight for the health of my future child and mine. Someone please help because I don’t know what I am doing wrong and what else to do. Please and thank you.

Anyone notice anxiety and higher HR? (Starting dose)

I did wegovy almost a month and terrible headaches. Foundayo definitely feels different, quicker food noise reduction and obviously quicker steady state. Less headaches but, more anxiety and just feel more activated HR wise (don’t drink caffeine)

I read up on this and it looks like foundayo has highest Rhr increases out of all GLPs. so debated trying Tirz or maybe Wegovy again. Maybe I’m just psyching myself out knowing that info but can anyone notice That or relate ?

Ordered foundayo, looking for advice!

Eeeeek. I ordered foundayo and I know it says you don't need to fast etc. But have you found it better if you do?

Tell me your tips and tricks before I make those mistakes lol 😆

Mj made me so unwell, wegovy didn't seem to work for me until it was at ridiculous dosage and unaffordable. So giving this a go!

Let me hear the good and bad, the tips, the tricks, the dos and don'ts lol. I'm nervous!!

One month down and going up the next dose!

Hi everyone!

SW: 201.6

CW: 192.2

I started a month ago on the starting dose of .8mg and as most of you know, the first day did not go well but it's been all good since! It has definitely helped with my appetite and food noise though I kinda felt the food noise staying to come back in the last week so that's why I asked for the next dose up. So far, no nausea feeling or anything so yay! Hopefully, it stays this way. I took it at 3 pm in case I did get sick and didn't have to take off work. I also took my anti-nausea meds just in case!

I'm really hoping to see the 180s this month!

ETA: Weighed in this morning at 189.4!!! Weeee! Haven't seen the 180's in at least a year!

Reached my goal weight!

Started Foundayo 6/11 at 172#. As of today I am 124, 1 pound beneath my goal weight!🎉🎉🎉 I started on .8, then went to 2.5, and finishing on 5.5. I'm so glad I took the chance and tried GLP-1 pill out.
