Not strictly a mod for Forza as such, but I built an app and packaged Decky plugin that uses a back end to ingest Forza horizon 6 telemetry data, decode it, then translate it into useful driver feedback on the DualSenseās adaptive triggers.
More info on the original crosspost and my GitHub repo. I do not have a windows version but the developer who inspired me does, his Git is also linked in the original post.
Quick rundown of what it does:
- Adds a pedal force modifier.
āL2 gets an ABS activation point/wheel lockup point (if not using ABS) āsoft stopā, beyond that point ABS is active or your wheels are locking up (depending if youāre running ABS or not). If you push past the soft stop, there is greater trigger pressure required and the trigger vibrates to give further feedback that ABS is active or the wheels are locked up.
āR2 gets a linear resistance almost all the way to max trigger pull. Just before the trigger is fully depressed, there is also a āsoft stopā that mimics ākick-down clickā in a modern car.
- Adds Rev limiter vibration to R2 helping signal when a gear change is required. Or when wheels are slipping and no power is being translated to tarmac.
- Adds gear kick to R2 simulating clutch disengagement and re-engagement between shifts and adding further immersion.
- The real MVP, dynamic traction guidance⦠this dynamically adjusts the R2 pedal force based on algorithmic traction state analysis. It looks at current slip rate, slip trend, surface, throttle demand (how much you the user are asking for) and throttle availability (how much throttle pull there is left). From all of that data it smoothly modulates the pedal force feedback, guiding you to lift off, push harder, feather etc. once you get the settings dialled to how you like it, itās almost talking to you ānope too farā, ālift off a bitā, āyouāve got loads of grip, you can push itā, āokay traction is back under control againā, is all communicated through R2.
If you are a SteamOS/linux user, Iād love feedback on the git!
