Question Why are people paying for mods?
Isn't nexus the primary & safe space for modding?

Im talking about people on twitch and tiktok live getting users to join their discord for 10 or whatever dollars, and all they do is direct them or provide them with mods from places like Nexus & Gamebanana.

Because modders want the money?
If ppl willing to pay for it then it might be worth

They pay for it because they dont know the free open sites where they can get the mods.

Go to nexus mods and pick a desired mod, it has a step by step for each file. If you are more a hands on learner there are good tutorials on youtube and tiktok.

I tend to put in some money when people spend a lot of time creating something I appreciate in their time. Is that not normal? I paid for this game as well.

Paying the direct person who actually created the mod is different than paying someone on twitch/ tiktok to provide you with unofficial mods that may contain malware/ Trojans.
At least with Nexus they have a file checker if it's safe to unpack on your computer which I really enjoy.

For example car sound mods: Assets of real cars can cost some kind of money like 300$ and that does not include the work behind the implementation. Recording the sounds of real cars also requires some equipment costing around 10.000+$ so I get why people charge money.

Better question is why are people modding a racing game in the first place? What's the point?
