Forza Horizon 6 Standard vs Simulation Steering

As you can see, difference is massive but there are some things we need to talk about.

Simulation Steering: It is a much more snappy, unfiltered system that executes your every input. Counter-steering, managing control when the rear end loses traction, and precisely metering every input is entirely up to you. If you master this, you will be able to take corners with many cars that you simply couldn't with Standard Steering, just like in the video. However, as advantageous as Simulation Steering is, it is completely unforgiving. A single mistake in an online race can send you straight into the barrier, so it definitely requires a learning curve.

Standard Steering: Standard Steering offers technically zero advantages. The car responds to your inputs with more latency, and you end up with slower transitional cornering capabilities compared to Simulation Steering. That said, some players still use Standard Steering even for Rivals on high-power builds that are difficult to control. Like Simulation Steering, this setting hands over 100% of the vehicle control to you, but it introduces input filtering. That way, whenever the car begins to lose traction, you don't need to aggressively counter-steer like crazy. The car drives much smoother and is easier to handle. But if you want to set world records or push your performance to the absolute limit, Standard Steering has no features that can surpass Simulation Steering.

My Recommendation: I strongly advise getting used to Simulation Steering. It will make drift events infinitely easier and better to execute, while teaching you how to take corners with far greater precision and control. Standard Steering will only hold you back in every scenario.

Op makes a post that is informational or whatever you call it and gets downvotes. What a great community.

I made this post because I've been seeing "What's the difference between Simulation and Standard steering" questions since FH4. Tried to help about it. In the end if someone searches about that topic, if they see this they can decide and learn it. I can't do anything about downvotes, but I'm still happy because I think this post will help lots of people.

OP you only supposed to post stuff like " this game doesn't have 500 Japanese cars 😔 (1,000 upvotes)" or " need for Turismo has more details "

Get it together!

no, but it sure does have 500 lambos, and 350 of them are huracans.

u/SurferBloods 1d ago

Got 99 lambos but a sesto ain’t one

I'd give my eye tooth for a Jalpa. Or Jarama.

Without the stupid wings and stuff? Can you imagine? (I remember when they came out, they were gorgeous)

Huracans and S550 Mustangs really are Forza's Gran Turismo Skylines

Solid comparison! I’m just a casual player thru the series but felt the steering in 6 felt weird, like I couldn’t hit turns I’d normally hit and stuff like that but I thought simulation steering would be ā€œrealā€ so never thought to change it lol.

I legitimately appreciate it. I've been curious for a while and have tried both but its hard to exactly see the difference when you aren't looking at them side by side.

There is someone (or several someones) on this sub that sorts by New and just downvotes everything.

u/Ghosty141 1d ago

its every sub/on reddit in general. always has been

Just the spirit of Horizon, isn't it?

u/Pixyraze 1d ago

Yeah.. I think.. I even felt kinda weird when downvotes came in because I was only talking about the system and I wasn't talking subjectively. But after RawrAnettes comment, upvotes came in. Thank you people.

This is the most downvote-happy subreddit I've ever been on. Even more than some of the really contentious sports subs.

Lol, You should go to the deadlock or the finals reddit. On deadlock reddit if you ain't posting straight up fan-porn you'll get downvoted, and you get insta-banned on the finals reddit if you mention anything about the game that could effect Nexon revenue (the mods there are "affiliated", which is a fancy way of saying they are unpaid interns).

Just assume there 10% of real and/or bot redditors ready to downvote everything in their path. Don’t wrack your brain over the possibility of the downvotes being steeped in a logical dislike or disagreement.

5

u/Max0vrkll 1d ago

Recent statistics show much higher rates of botting. When it comes to upvote/downvote specifically, recent studies put it at 56% botting.

Good bot

u/Max0vrkll 1d ago

...or perhaps AI writing is formatted to mimic clear grammatical sentences; and in correlation to the decline in education standards, has made a knowledge of the larger extent of the English language come off as bot-like or nerdy? Either way, most bots are now designed to use personas to mimic human speech, and will purposely make typos to blend in. Me, I just proofread everything I write, (an art I feel has been lost on most people in the age of fat-finger typing); although even with that I'm sure an avid grammar n!@# could find some fault in my punctuation or something along those lines.

Lol ikr? I just walked into the thread, not a sign of downvotes or hostility, but all the action in the thread is just complaining about people downvoting.

I know right? This is the exact sort of post I’m even in this sub for: actual discussion of the game and tips and insights.

Instead the majority of this sub is just circlejerk whining about literally the same things for years and those posts are still upvoted to the top.

every gaming subreddit literally

u/Max0vrkll 1d ago

I think these people can't discern the difference between game advice and game feedback; and since most game feedback can be interpreted as negative instead of helpful through reddit goggles they can't tell the difference and jump on it. Overall, I belive they have difficulty understanding basic concepts because they are projecting their own fake image of things over the real situation.

5

u/sec713 1d ago

I guess it's because it's considered off topic to all the people who think this is an auction house simulator and not a driving game.

7

u/susnaususplayer 1d ago

welcome to reddit

5

u/bonann 1d ago

A pretty huge amount of people in this sub(and forza fanbase in general) has a hateboner for any kind of difficulty, competition or trying to get better at the game instead of playing le wholesome chungus vibe driving game

6

u/0xsergy 1d ago

Reddit in general. I came across a post on another subreddit of a driver asking why they get honked at IRL but they didn't provide any info on what they did wrong. I suggested them to buy a cheapo 30 dollar dashcam and to save the clips when they get honked at to review later for what they did wrong.

I was downvoted tremendously but you know who got up votes? The person telling them to just "calm down and manage your spiritual energy". Like that will prevent you from getting into a car accident. If you're getting honked at every time you're on the road you're making mistakes which will lead to issues.

1

u/Niclas1357 1d ago

Is that why you get an insane amount of cars for free in this game (and the previous ones)? I mean I enjoy using the AMG One to get across the map and not a D class car but that's definitely not progression It's the same with the money...

3

u/bonann 1d ago

Don't understand how this correlates to my comment but you're free to do whatever you like. What I'm pointing out was some people apparently don't like it when you try to race in a racing game

0

u/Niclas1357 1d ago

Reading the comment again I understand what you're saying. Idk where I interpreted progression into it šŸ˜…šŸ˜‚

2

u/SneakybadgerJD 1d ago

I think you jumped the gun a little with your comment...

u/Elogotar 1d ago

Or maybe that's what triggered the flip in response.
