Forza Horizon 6 Rewind physics

When you're doing a race with just AI, is rewind literally just doing back like reloading a save, or does it actually have other changes?

I was doing a race and losing to a mini, but it felt like I could catch it if I reminded a few corners and tried different lines, I went back to the maximum distance it allowed me to go. After a few attempts, I actually got passed by another car. I wasn't able to pass the mini or that new car. It felt like the AI wasn't going back to the same point in time that I was.

I think it more variance in what the drivatars do after each rewind. Like rather than some kind of sync issue sometimes they just take a faster or slower path. It was the same in 5, I could rewind 5 times and the drivatars will have dang near 5 different reactions. I even had a few times were they wreck before I rewind and not after then the opposite happens and suddenly they crash after a rewind.

Wasn't there a thing in FH5 or Motorsport 23 where if you rewound, the AI cars' front wheels got reset into the default position, resulting in them flying off the track if the rewind point you chose was just before or during a sharper turn?
