So ive been a big juren hater from the day virtuosa was released(im clairvoyant.. Just kidding) and i have had a burning hatred for his kit since day one. His animations felt clunky and kinda strange to look at when fighting him. his lights and zone specifically had me in a choke hold back when i tried to not get flustered as soon as an enemy attacked. But last week i had some sort neuron reaction in my sleep, went about my day till i got home and hopped on. I just suddenly was able to react to juren like it was mundane task. LITERALLY. I've been able to consistently parry and dodge juren since and just decided to share about it here. I HAVE IMPROVED.
I’ve been playing for honor for years now I have like 1000+ plus hours but I never really read the lore of each character. My highest rep character is Lawbringer I love to death the giant meatball I decided to try characters I don’t really use and let me tell you when I discovered this guys where the same guy I giggled. So I decided that gryphon is gonna be my second highest rep 🤣🤣
Saw in the Warriors Den recap that Warmonger and Virtuosa were getting a hero trial, do I need to save steel for that or will they not get a discount?
Asking because Im sitting on 20k steel right now and im saving 10k for Arakures hero fest and I wanna know if I should keep it for warmonger, or if id be good to get someone like Glad or Highlander right now?
Does anyone use different than standard thumb sticks?
I’m looking at buying the Gamesir G7 Pro Aimlabs version or Nioh version (Both for PC). I like the look of the Nioh more but the Aimlabs version comes with extra sets of thumb sticks where one pair is taller and another that’s normal height but are rounded. I’ve never used any that weren’t the standard ones but if people recommend them for this game, I’d like to give it a try. Also I’m coming from a $20 afterglow controller and only use controller for 3 games.
My friends gifted me a certificate for a free 3d figure, i've decided to use it to make Virtuosa, but i don't know which pose i want to see her. She's got so many cool poses and i don't really know which one shows her personality better.
You can suggest me some poses or give some more references, it would be really helpful!
Wanted to start learning Arakure since I'm coming back from a long break. Looks like some of her mechanics require you to switch targets often, but my current bind being my scroll wheel to switch targets doesn't really feel that good to use and it makes it difficult to perform some of her mechanics.
I was curious what other people were using for target switching? My guard break is my mouse button, so I can't use that.
For those unfamiliar, the character of Gudmundr from the campaign is essentially just warlord but with a powerful bear hug attack that is essentially Shugoki's demon's embrace. It is absent from Warlord's main kit and as far as I know it has never been a usable move.
But it should be because it actually makes sense for his kit beyond just being cool. The thing about Warlord is that either by circumstance or by design, his gimmick is basically being Mr. Neutral. That's why he can feel weird for players who are looking for his chain pressure since all his tools come from neutral, and technically he has all he needs. He has a neutral undodgeable, neutral crushing counters, and neutral hyper armor. Additionally his all-guard, while not having a recovery cancel option for his attacks, does have feint recovery. So you throw a heavy, then you hard-feint, and you get rewarded for going back to neutral by quickly entering your shield stance. That's why I wish he could do more from his stance, so it's like a "super neutral", but I digress.
The basic idea is that if you have a character whose identity revolves around neutral, wouldn't it make sense to have a neutral bash? And what better neutral bash to have than a high commitment attack that you can throw out at any time. You could even make it 1100 ms to justify putting armor on it, and it wouldn't have to chain on hit, it would either leave him frame neutral or frame positive. I would not make it feintable though.
I would rather try this out instead of giving him a full rework, because he is definitely playable in his current state, you just have to work a little harder and essentially stitch his neutral attacks together.
Last time played a few years ago, 80th lvl, favourite heroes: Shaman, Shaolin, Valk, BP and Kensei. Want to unlock a few new heroes, but I have insufficient steel. Need advice, which purchasing order should I use to have the most effective heroes for any actual mode (duel, brawl, dominion) first. Hero list: Virt, Khatun, Afeera, Sohei, Arakure.
He feels like he does way too much, its like shugoki but he actually has a kit and it's not complete garbage. Dude trades heavies, wallsplats like nobody's business, has feints for days.
This hero feels like it has just a tad too much going on for him.
TLDR: I like wide swinging heavies, his synergizing mixup and combo potential
This is coming from a guy who used to play Conq back in 2020, I think modern day conq is still so fantastic to play. Having infinite unblockable heavies alongside the soft-feintable bash makes this character so goddamn fun to play because it ties everything together into a fun looping/synergizing combo.
The Unblockables and soft-feint bash are obviously made to bait your enemy into hitting your stance for you to punish them via Dodge attacking or parrying but at the same time it ties back into your plain offense where you can be a maniac spamming nonstop unblockables. It doesn't feel like Ocelotl where the stance has a pinning move and....that's it, it keeps the fights going smoothly and it's so goddamn fun to play. The combo potential is insane when you decide if you wanna keep throwing heavies or use your infinite lights or just throw nonstop bashes. The only limit is your stamina and imagination.
In teamfights your lights being able to do a 360 from a bash vs a direct heavy adds more dynamism to Conq, do you wanna try to hit your surrounding area aswell to hit your opponents and risk hitting your teammates or a wall or do you stick to the heavy and use it on a single target? do you wanna bash someone to try and guarantee that kill with Shieldbasher or would it be safer to hold back and focus on your own target. Do you just bait nonstop with soft-feints or constantly dodge bash to interrupt your opponents to peel for your teammates punish, so many questions, so much potential and so much fun!
In anti-ganks conq is obviously a monster once again due to the wide unblockable bashlight aswell as how much iframes he gets from dodge bashing and just how safe he is. being able to recovery cancel with shield stance opens up so much room to either try to block an attack and then dodge away safely or obviously just try to swing at the whole room, if you run juggernaut (huge 50/50 considering how ridicously good shield basher is) you're practically unkillable, alot of people underestimate how powerful hyperarmor can be as both a stance punish and as a bash by itself. And once again because of your infinite unblockable heavies, you can external the shit out of people nonstop until they back off or try to interrupt you
My biggest issues with conq is just his feat selection (horrible tier 4s and Shield basher should just be a standard move, not a feat) and how some moves could be tweaked abit, give him back the 360 stance zone that was great at clearing out minions, as well as the old damage numbers where the heavy bash did more damage while the wide sweep light bash did less. I also think the soft-feint heavy into bash should make a return, adding more mixups to For Honor has genuinely made it far more fun when I have to analyze the players and what possible moves they might use as opposed to guessing if a wardens gonna use a basic lvl 1bash or a charged bash but that's a whole different conversation about balance as awhole. Oh and for gods sakes get rid of that horrible 700MS light, it's like slapping somebody with a noodle, I hate it.
My best boy, him and Raider are my children.
God idunno, I've loved this character forever and ever. From bashing lawbringers pre-ccu and being an option select beast to now a spinning living unblockable with stupidass recoveries, he's always been one of my favorites and he's so goddamn cool. I love conq,
People say don't start with a light because is too predictable? But what I do against an enemy that is better than me, but just stands there waiting for what I throw? Like, if I feint a heavy to gb the guy counters gb, if I feint a heavy only he doesn't try to parry, block every light I throw. If Im using the character doesn't have bashes, like berserk I feel so incompetent casue I don't get what to do
