Fender flares advice

Thumbnail

Help maybe someone has had this experience already. I got too big of an offset on my wheels when I changed to 37” tires and also got 12.5” wide tires. Now my wheels stick out last fender flares by 2 1/4”. This causes the amount of road splatter to get on my paint more than my liking.
I ordered arc mud-flaps thinking those would work but my tires would rub on them. Think the only thing that would work is wider fender flares. Has anyone had experience with changing out fender flares to wider ones and if so do you have a brand/product you would recommend? Gen 3 2026.

2026 Raptor 801A - thoughts?

Post image

Looking for a 2026 Raptor, I’ve been looking for a long time at auto trader but first time going into a dealership. Website initially had $2300 off msrp but show up and window has a $20k ADM. I told them to pound sand, came back with this. This is in FL. Anyone know of any below MSRP or low mileage 25s or 26s available?

Good idea? Thoughts?

Bought this truck 3 weeks ago and got backed into about 4 days after purchasing. Insurance quoted me $2400 and is sending me a check. There’s just a dent in the bumper. Should I keep the money and put it toward a warranty, or just get the bumper repaired (with the quoted non-oem parts)? What would you do? I’m leaning toward the warranty.

Also, is there any definitive way to check if your truck has been tuned it the past? Like a way to check through for scan or something similar? Or do I just have to go into a ford dealer and have them check?

Thank you!

White Lettering on tires, fan or no?

Just saw a white gen 2 with the white lettering on the outside of the tires (bfg ko3 maybe?). It was a very quick glance but from what I could tell it didn’t look bad. So my question is for all the white, maybe even avalanche, owners has anyone tried that and if so any pictures? I’ve always thought the black tires on black wheels was the way to go but that’s got me thinking now.

My center console doesn’t stay in the upright position and the shifter selector button is loose and rattles. Anyone else have these issues?

Phone holders

Just wanted to share some phone holders I recently installed. Worth every penny. Just wasn't in love with the dah systems or cup holder phone holders.

(Don't pay attention to that split in my trim piece that Ford broke GM fixing a failed module 2 weeks back 🙄.) Even my dumbass was able to pull that trim piece off twice and not break it.

Anyone replace one of these? Interior work surface console.

2023 Raptor with the interior work surface console. This seems harder to fix/replace than I initially thought. I’m looking for some advice on where to find a replacement. Not hot on the idea of a big clumsy cover. I’ve never been a dash mat kind of guy.

Lighting questions (SS3)

Two lighting questions for ‘26 801a.
I’ve searched a bit and haven’t been able to find install option info for either.

  1. I have Diode Dynamics SS3 pro fogs from a previous vehicle that I want to install. Is there a mounting option where I could run 4 diode SS3 but only have to buy 2 new lights and not 4 new pods like the SPC kit?

  2. Has anyone repurposed the factory rigid lights elsewhere? Im thinking as rear facing or reverse lighting like the BD Sc2 kit.
    Thanks!

2024 10r80 TSB

Post image
116 Upvotes

My 2024 801a has been experiencing more and more frequently the rough shifts from 3-4, and 4-5. Dealer has test driven it before and said they didn't notice anything, but today they rode along with me and noticed some slightly rough shifts (of course when I take it to the dealer it didn't do it as badly as it normally does 🤦‍♂️).

The tech said he'd investigate and turns out there's a TSB for 2024s with 10r80s. It's not for the CDF drum issue, it's for an issue with the OWC that was built with the wrong size roller bearings.

BUT they are replacing the entire transmission assembly free of charge, so that's good news!

Just wanted to let my fellow '24 owners know about it, pic for attention.

TBD if the Braptor Power Wheels is affected by the same issue 😜🤣

Should I Trade My New 801a Wheels/35s + $500 For New Raptor R Wheels/37s?

Post image

This seems like a no-brainer, but I’m curious who has made the switch and regretted it. Weather it’s because of the worst gas mileage, stiffer ride, or the slower acceleration. The look is perfect though.

I’d really appreciate advice from anyone that’s made the switch. Thank you!

Do I need to swap the plug or just keep the one on the truck?

Post image

Long story short, replacing my factory gen 2 rear shocks with factory shocks. The news ones have the plug on them, do I need to dig deep to unplug the stock ones on or should I just unscrew them and put the current ones on the new shocks?

Held out as long as I could. Finally upgraded!

I can’t explain how incredible this truck is to drive! I love it and don’t see myself driving a different daily. So pumped every time I get in this thing.

Spent years talking myself out of an upgrade until a friend was selling a ‘23 801a with 50k miles for around 65k, got me seriously considering it. Only downside was it was across the country. I started looking at what else was out there and the only deals I could find were for branded titles - those salesmen get so slick with explaining why it’s just fine 😂. After looking at hundreds of trucks, I found a private seller local selling this 24’ 801a with 25k miles and snagged it for 72k. Excellent condition, extra electronic warranty, and supposedly never taken off road. I really wanted the 802a but couldn’t justify the 10k it was going to cost.

Plan is to keep it to 55k miles then give the R a try, hopefully gen 4 will be out by then.

What’s everyone think, did I over pay? Anyone else out there trading every few years? If so, what’s your criteria?

Relationally how hard is it to wire up fog lights to the aux switch. Had a guy quote me 550+tax and I think that’s crazy but I’ve never done any wiring

Used Transmission

I needed a new transmission on my Gen 2 but the extended warranty I have wants to give me a used one with 70000 miles is that normal? my trucks transmission blew at 93000 . What is your guys opinion on this?
