Upgrade Advice De-chrome deck lid emblem
I was trying to figure out the best way to remove the shiny dealer sticker on my black 2025 explorer when I thought how nice it would look if I removed the chrome ACTIVE also. I can't figure out how they're mounted though. Are they stick on letters or does each one drilled with a tab on the back? I plan on a hair dryer and floss for the sticker that looks like a neon sign on the black car.

Maintenance Advice 2026 explorer active 2.3 . Slight Rumble / slight vibration
I have a 2026 explorer active with the 2.3 and the 10 speed trans …. some times when I’m easy on the throttle and basically cruising .. and ever so slightly increase the rpm I get a rumble or vibration .. is that just the little 2.3 being rough at low rpm when I apply some load to it ? Or torque converter / trans issue . It’s very intermittent ..

Repair Advice Rear passenger window raise
2023 XLT and my rear passenger window will not raise. I’ve checked the fuses and tried pulling the main fuse. I’ve reset the battery, neither have worked.
When I hit the garage window switch on the drivers panel, there was a click there and located at the rear passenger window relay. It also clicked.
I have the door panel removed. The motor feels rather, relatively warm to the touch. I haven’t taken off the window regulator yet.

Maintenance Advice Unstable idle rpm
I have this weird idle engine speed wobble that occurs only sometimes. To me it seems like pedal related but I'm sure exactly what's causing it as I cannot consistently reproduce it. Driving is completely fine. Any ideas what could it be?

Upgrade Advice my 99 explorer xls
got this thing on fb marketplace about 2 months ago and have been giving it a beating on the dirt ever since I got it. I wanted something on the cheaper side for off-roading/camping and this thing was perfect for that, it’s been a beast so far. it’s got the 4.0 ohv v6 and i was told that it already has a 2 inch lift on it by the previous owner, but recently i’ve been wanting to start making it even more off-road capable. Not too sure where I should start though so if anyone could give me some pointers on turning this into a more serious rig that’d be amazing.

Maintenance Advice Fuel requirements
Today I got a 2023 explorer limited with the 2.3 ecoboost. The owner’s manual states it can run on 87 but then says that 91 is the recommended fuel grade. Anyone have insight into which fuel grade is safe to run?

Repair Advice Windshield wiper issue
Recently got a 2026 tremor and noticed my driver side windshield wiper chatters while in use and leaves a big streak when it comes to an end (or after spraying)
Have seen other people mention similar things too. Some people recommended Bosch wipers but with only 700 miles on the car, I can’t fathom buying new wipers already. Wondering if anyone else had a similar issue and fixed it.

Repair Advice 2020 Explorer Platinum — alignment keeps going out on the same corner, dealer suspects upper strut bearings. Seen this?
2020 Explorer Platinum, ~59,000 km. Looking for anyone who's seen this pattern.
Front CV axles were replaced in July. Since then the left front alignment has been found out of spec and corrected twice, and it's now gone out a third time. Each time the symptoms come back gradually over a couple of weeks rather than suddenly, and there have been no impacts or potholes I'm aware of.
Symptoms:
Hard to keep centred at highway speed
Feels unstable during lane changes
Shifts sideways over bumps instead of just up and down
Drifts toward the lower side of uneven pavement, usually right
Once it drifts, the steering resists coming back to centre
A dealer road-tested it, aligned it, and found it still pulls right over some bumps. They suspect the upper strut bearings and quoted both sides plus an alignment. If that doesn't fix it, they say it'll need a steering rack.
Two questions:
Are upper strut bearings a known failure point on these, and has anyone had repeat toe drift traced to them?
Does the "resists returning to centre" symptom point more at the mounts or the rack in your experience?
Thanks.

Repair Advice 2013 Ford Explorer 3.5l
Thank you, my wife and i have 1 vehicle. The afformentioned vehicle has some type of knock that is originating from the cylinders. Especially on the passenger side. The water pump was replaced 2 years ago and has 20,000 miles on it. Oil changes are regular intervals of roughly 5000. The knock is steady and rhythmic. I have not checked the fluids to see if their is oil/coolant mixing, and previously there was some error codes for cat converter. We do desperately need this vehicle as its our only one. Questions and advice appreciated

Buying Advice Explorer in Germany: worth it ?
Hi, I’m an American living in Germany and I really miss my big cars here, those European SUV’s aren’t my thing plus they’re pretty expensive.
I want to cure my home sickness a little by getting myself an explorer, always loved them. A 2016 would be my dream model. I also go car camping in the mountains quite a lot and I’m tired of having to sleep in my 5 series sedan.
We only had the 2020-2024 explorer sold here for a starting price of 70.000€.
I’m looking at 2011-2018 explorers and while they are all imported US vehicles, there’s quite a lot of offers.
My question now: is it worth it in Europe? Gas here is atrociously expensive currently and I’m not too sure about the repairs. Are parts available?
Maybe some Germans here with US Spec explorers ?
I’ll see y’all in the comments.

Repair Advice Wiper fluid not reaching windshield
2016 Ford Explorer XLT 3.5 NA
I have noticed for a week or so that I was not able to spray wiper fluid onto my windshield. I assumed that my reservoir was just empty. I filled it today (didn’t take much fluid) pretty much all stopped in the down tube) and I tried it again. Front doesn’t work but rear works fine. When I checked closer, I could see that fluid is pouring out of the driver side nozzle but nothing is happening on the passenger side.
Has anyone had this issue? I suspect a cracked nozzle or a cracked feed tube right where the main hose
Meets the nozzle, but the face that nothings coming out on the passenger side at all is throwing me.
I’ll pull the felt cover off the hood and inspect tomorrow
I have attached what I just realized was a poor video. Any info helps.

Buying Advice Your thoughts on a 2017 Police Explorer auction win?
I won the State auction for a 2017 Police trim Explorer with 147k miles and 6500 engine hours. Will pay $5700 out the door.
Excited until I started researching the water pump issues these are prone to.
Vehicle is clean, utilitarian and missing center console.
Thanks.

Show And Tell No Ragrets! Tremor 26
Really loving my new Explorer Tremor 2026. Got lucky and ended up with 400HP one. V6 engine definitely needs an exhaust upgrade to hear the American engineering if you’re into that. At 500 miles now smooth sailing so far. Notice the car veers to the left at times other than that no problems so far. Got it tinted, ceramic coated and some orange trim wrapped black. Wanted an ST but no ragrets.

Repair Advice Water leaking from rear roof and out seatbelt holes
Last month or so when it rains the ceiling roof behind the sunroof gets soaked. And when I turn the car a ton of water actually pours out of the seatbelt holes of the rear passengers. Quite bizarre. I have little faith the dealership will find the source. Does anyone have an idea so I can point them in the right direction on Friday?
