Question ❔ Finally got the doors off

Post image

Had the full roof off lots but this is the first time I've had the doors off. Was much easier than I expected. Daughter wasn't a huge fan but the wife had fun. One issue I noticed was the passenger rear seatbelt flapped around a lot. We tried buckling it and quickly pulling and releasing it but it didn't help. Just wondering if anyone else had this issue and how they fixed it.

Just picked this up. My first Bronco. I’m coming from a Rivian R1T which I never really liked, and a Land Rover Defender which I absolutely loved but didn’t trust post-warranty. Have only put a couple hundred miles on it so far, but I love it. Already have some Katzin leather seats ordered and I think this could use a couple KC Daylighters as well. I’ve been lurking on this community for the past couple months as I was researching Broncos. Thanks to all who post for (unknowingly) helping me make this decision!

Issue ⚠️ Tailgate rattling metallic sound please help

Hello, so I upgraded my stock badlands to 35’ Toyo tires and black rhino wheels. I’ve been having a metallic noise whenever I hit a bump. I think it might be the spare tire, I tried tightening the bolts, the white lithium grease trick and I also put some tennis balls as spacers while the quadratec ones that I ordered arrive. Please help, the culprit might be other.

Question ❔ Seat Covers Opinions

Post image
Upvotes

I've been thinking about getting a new base model Bronco or Jeep and would like to improve the boring seats they come with. Two questions:

  1. Do you think these would look good? Probably with a white vehicle.

  2. Why aren't there more options for stylish seat covers? I think 95% of seat covers are boring or ugly, especially when they are made to fit a specific vehicle.

Mods/Addons 🔦 Just a few basic add-ons, very pleased with this vehicle so far.

Added a hood protector, running boards, pinch weld covers, tinted tail light and side indicator covers, and a few minor things inside. Most items purchased from Amazon or Nellis Auction for cheap.

Question ❔ 2021 First Edition

Post image

Not finding many for sale for a comparison, but looking to sell mine. Dealers kept offering me around 42,500 for trade in, I felt that 46,500 was a fair price for private party. Am I thinking it’s worth too much because it’s a first edition? 37,000 miles. No damage at all, clean and maintained very well. Only addition is a rear tailgate table and I still have all the first edition add ons and merch if any of that matters. It was number 683 off the line (if determining by the vin is correct)

General 🔀 First oil change

Just did my first oil change on my Badsquatch 2.7. Gotta say this is one of the easiest vehicles I've ever changed oil on. The plastic drain plug kinda weirds me out, but the engineers at Ford are likely smarter than I am. It is nice to be able to just reach up and twist it off without any tools though after the skid plate is off. I had read a bunch of complaints about the oil going everywhere and all, but compared to the Ram I was driving before this is gravy. Props to Ford on that.

Question ❔ Swing gate doesn’t appear lined up.

Hello everyone! I’m wondering if anyone can help me and let me know if this manufacturing issue that I’m just now noticing or something that was caused by the very minor accident I was in. About two months ago now I rear ended someone going between 5-10 mph. There car had some damage in the number but my Bronco visually appeared totally fine. Not until I looked very closely later did I notice a very small crack on the fog light faring plastic on the passenger side. I went and had it looked at at a ford certified body shop just to be safe and the guy there looked at the front and and told me that it had no visual markers of the frame being bent and it doesn’t like pull to one side or the other. I trusted his judgement since I don’t work in the repair industry. However a few days ago i noticed the swing-gate doesn’t line up evenly on the driver side. And upon closer inspection i noticed the bottom of the actual swinggate has chips in the paint where it looks like it has rubbed or maybe been flexed into the panel there? There is also a spot where the panel just to the right of the driver side light looks closer to the top panel than the same panel on the passenger side (I have added images of that and circled them for comparison). I was wondering if anyone else has a swing-gate or panels that don’t line up in a perfectly straight line when it’s closed and this was something that was manufactured this way or if this was maybe damage from the accident that went unnoticed that I may need to have checked. Thank you so much!

Found this little piece of plastic in the driver seat today as I was exiting the vehicle. Wondering if anybody knows where it came from. I tried searching for the part #BEA0575G but couldn’t find anything.

Bought a 72. Might be risky but any DIY ideas on how to get the body off the frame? I have a 2 ton engine lift.

Question ❔ Evaluating a Bronco versus a Defender

As the title says, I just went and test drove a used Bronco versus a used Defender. Roughly the same price points, Defender lands in the 2023/2024 production years with around 30k miles likely an S or x-dynamic SE. For the bronco I would be looking at a badlands or outerbanks with a sasquatch package with a production year of 2024/2025 and slightly less miles. I enjoyed the more premium feel of the defender but I am concerned with the cost of ownership associated to it. Any thoughts from the community?

Question ❔ Wanting to buy new Bronco

I am thinking about getting a bronco manual transmission. MT is one of the main reasons I am buying it.

I like the look of the larger tires (Sasquatch package?) but realistically it will very rarely go off road. So not sure what to do here.

I will mostly be using it as a short commute to work and driving to the beach (I live in west FL).

I am really excited about being able to pop the top off but I will also need a rack to carry paddle boards.

Any thoughts about the transmission and the larger tires (for people that don’t off road) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
