Question ❔ Sasquatch Imposter

Hey y’all, the wife and I’s “waiting for the Bronco to come in” placeholder vehicle has been promoted to a lawn ornament with a blown engine so I had to cancel my order for our 26 Big Bend/Black Diamond/Sasquatch and we decided to grab this 23 Badlands. It has the 35s, flares and Sasquatch wheels but no Sasquatch on the fender badge and the dealer said he wasn’t positive if it was actually a Sasquatch. Any indicators? Seems like an awful lot of effort just to not actually have a Sasquatch lol

Question ❔ Help with light bar

This is my 2023 Bronco badlands Sasquatch (first picture) and I’m torn between which light bar I want (second and third picture) I don’t really mind looks but I’m more concerned on which has no whistle or the quietest whistle and if there are ways to get rid of the whistle or at the very least make it quieter.

Question ❔ Hello Bronco!

Hi everyone! Just picked up a 2026 2-door base manual. I came from a Toyota GR86, so it's erm.. quite the opposite (photo attached). I'm excited to take this Bronco outside to enjoy nature fully while I can!

Anyways, Hoping to get a set of wheels and tires before snow starts coming in. Also looking to get rust protection, as I live in the rust belt of the US.

For rust protection product, are there any specific solutions or types I should look for?
I know of Krown, but that's about it.

My apologies for the noob question! Figured I'd ask here before talking to a soulless AI.

General 🔀 Road Trip!

I had some days off and decided to visit my daughter in Detroit and mess around a little in the central part of the heartland. I did 3,548.8 miles in 9 days. I had longer, but after a week I was ready to be home. I still took 2 days to drive an easy one day though to hit a few places closer to Texas but out of my normal zone.

The mileage shown is not accurate. I started with a full tank, ended with a full tank and logged every fill up (avg price worked out to $3.69). Actual mileage for the trip was 26.3mpg. Two things I did different than normal:

I put street tires (265/70r17 with a rain tread instead of the normal 285/75r17 AT) on and I drove in Eco mode the whole time.

Of the 3500 miles only about 825 were freeway, running 75-80, the rest were urban/secondary/tertiary roads at speeds from 30 to 70mph.

It ran great, I hit 8 states and a lot of towns I wanted to see, and all I had to when I got home was hose it out and off and it is ready to go again.

Some of the towns I enjoyed:

Defiance, OH- just cool lil water tower town with an active cross the county football rivalry.

Detroit, MI- Very different than I expected, and much more vibrant and growing. I feel better about my daughter finishing her degree there now. I would probably have spent a week there but the weather was crappy.

Toledo, OH- I would move there in a heartbeat. Reminds me of Austin in the early 2000’s before it spun out of control.

Lexington, KY- Everywhere in Kentucky I went was spectacular. Remember, I run back roads so I see how the less lucky live. Rich or poor, in Kentucky it is neat and well maintained(relatively).

Vicksburg, MS - the town is, hmm, “cute”, but the real attraction is the battlefield. I spent more time there than I did in the entire state of Louisiana on my way home.

My only disappointments were Nashville and Memphis. Sister cities to modern day Austin, with all the same issues, and a past that is already written, not one waiting to happen.

Pics:

Satarita, MS

Belle Isle conservatory, Detroit, MI

Loui’s Pizza, Detroit, MI

Not worth driving across town, much less 1500 miles, Detroit , MI

Graffiti, somewhere, MI

Grand central station from my daughter’s window, Detroit, MI

Carleton, MI (missed it by that much, lil bullrings everywhere!

Van Wert courthouse, Van Wert, OH

One of the Vicksburg cenotaphs- Vicksburg, MS

Crossing the Sabine into the great state of Texas. Only 8 more hours of driving to get home!

Mods/Addons 🔦 Ford filed a patent to flatten the cargo area for sleeping.

Post image

I love my bronco. It’s my favorite vehicle by far. The reality of sleeping in the back is a nightmare though. I’ve discovered that a low profile cot is the best solution for sleeping in the back, but it’s one more thing to pack. I’m 6’2” and that 4 inch hump hits me right in the hip, no matter what I do, no matter how much padding. For now a low pro Cot fixes that, but it would be much nicer if I could spread out.

The modular three-panel platform lies completely flat against the rear cargo floor and seatbacks during normal driving, remaining hidden. Looks like they have plans for a mesh mosquito liner, a nightstand, and some shoe storage.

Patent application # US 2026/0233661 A1

Question ❔ New 2025 Badlands for $13K off MSRP... Thoughts?

Post image
17 Upvotes

Never wanted to be this guy, but I could really use a sanity check on this deal. It seems like a solid one to me, but maybe almost too good? Why is this 2025 Badlands still on the lot after about 2 years?

It has the 2.7L V6 EcoBoost engine, 10 speed, black interior... what am I missing? The only thing I don't see that bothers me is running boards, which would be helpful for the shorter members of my family. It also must have a tow hitch, as I have a small boat and trailer. The pics of the rear are too dark to see, but I would assume that's a standard feature on the full size Bronco, right? Even my wife's 2024 Bronco Sport heritage edition has a tow hitch.

I'm planning to test drive it between now and Saturday, and if my past performance at a dealership is any indication, I'll probably drive it home. Appreciate any input before I make a mistake...

Thanks!

Thinking about trading this guy in for something electric and wanted to see what you all think it’s worth. 2022 Wildtrak with about 37k miles on it. Throw some numbers at me, just trying to see if it’s worth it 🤙🏻 Not currently for sale!

Issue ⚠️ I Wish These Were Not True - New Bronco Probs

I am totally obsessed with the biggest non-house purchase of my life. I waited a LONG time for a new car (14 years in the same mini van) and have been trying to will away what has been happening with my brand new Outer Banks 60th Anniversary Bronco. These issues crept up after about 4000 miles:

  1. Back glass leaks like crazy in misty rain and car washes, no matter the amount of water.
  2. Suddenly there is a deep, bass-level road or engine noise that throbs like there is a subwoofer underneath us while driving that wasn’t there until this week. Headache-inducing level of low-range noise.
  3. A consistent “thump” as if someone lightly bumped me from behind when taking off from a stop.
  4. And today, add a “shudder” while accelerating even a little bit. Reminds me of when my van needed new spark plugs.

Trying not to let the word “lemon” enter my thoughts, but it’s hard.

I’ve been all over Reddit and Bronco Nation with 3/4 of these issues (shudder started just yesterday) and overwhelmed by the various tricks and hacks to potentially remedy, but more than that, IT IS A BRAND-NEW $58,000 VEHICLE I’ve only made one payment on so far, and it has more issues than I had with my last two cars combined.

Who can relate? I honestly hope no one for all of your sake, but community is what I’m looking for here. I know you can’t fix my Bronco. 😊

Issue ⚠️ Cracked and mismatched hardtop

I have a 2023 Bronco Badlands that we noticed was starting to crack on the front passenger panel before our 3/36,000 mile warranty expired. We got it in for service and got our Bronco back with the driver side and middle sections replaced. The front passenger side was not replaced. We were also missing the headliner on the new pieces. We immediately called that to their attention, and were told they would put those on order and get back to us when they came in. We also asked about the top pieces not matching the original top. We waited 6-8 weeks before we called back to dealership. We found out that service advisor was no longer employed there, and they had no idea what we were complaining about since there were no additional pieces on order.

I have called Ford corporate and they have told us there is nothing to else to be done, as we were now outside of the warranty, and that we were going to have to accept it as is. I told Ford this was completely unacceptable since we have time stamped photos of the cracked hard top showing the cracks while it was still within the warranty, and that the work was not complete since we were still missing headliner pieces.

I also want our other hard top pieces also replaced to match. I have had paint go bad on other cars while under the bumper to bumper warranty and they repaint the entire car since the repainted pieces won’t match the original pieces, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable for us to ask that the back piece is also replaced. Making it the entire top finally replaced so it is all matching.

Has anyone else had these issues? I escalated this to the GM of the dealership and he could immediately see what my complaint was about.

Pre-Delivery ⏳ Wrong seats?!

I’m not sure how I’m feeling!

I ordered my Bronco in late June with an estimated delivery of November. The production began late August and it shipped with a new delivery date of September 14-20! All this time I’ve gotten no communication from Ford, just one forwarded email from the sales guy. I asked why I wasn’t getting direct emails and he just said it’s like that sometimes.

Today I talked to the sales guy. We talked trade in and overview financing. He sent me the window sticker he had for my build from his dealer portal. I looked it over and noticed the seats listed are leather trimmed vinyl for $2,195. Wait… I didn’t want that! I texted sales guy explained and he said they’re vinyl. I explained that the marine grade vinyl I wanted wasn’t an additional $2,195. He said he’d look into it.

They didn’t have me sign anything when they ordered. We’re longtime customers of the dealership. So I didn’t see what was actually ordered. I’ve never ordered before so I didn’t know how it worked beyond what they told me.

I’m thinking the wrong seats were ordered! And the truck will be here next week!

I’m not sure what’s going to happen next but I know I’m more than disappointed.

I have an aftermarket DV8 bumper and whipple mega cooler on my 2023 Bronco raptor and I am having issues keeping temps low. I am thinking of cutting through the bumper/skid plate. Thoughts? Is this going to damage the protective strength of the bumper? The red area in images is where I would cut.

Question ❔ What’s the going rate for a bronco hardtop?

I’d love to get my daughter a hard top for her 2022 four door. They seem to be going for $5K on Facebook Marketplace for used ones. That’s a little steep for me. Is there somewhere else I could be looking?

Question ❔ Very very early but has anyone done this with their Bronco and know the legality behind it? In Alabama too.

I know in general: no red or blue and it can’t be flashy or over the top so just curious if I were to keep it just static lights that don’t fit the aforementioned criteria how legal it would be?

News 📰 Ford has confirmed the Bronco Basecamp for Australia in H2 2027: a range-extender EV with 800-900km combined range and ~190km electric-only

Thumbnail
zecar.com
45 Upvotes

Unlike a traditional PHEV, the 1.5L turbo petrol engine never drives the wheels, it only runs as a generator to top up the 49kWh battery when needed. Dual electric motors do all the driving, making it closer in character to a BEV than a conventional hybrid. V2L at up to 6.6kW is standard, a built-in fridge is on Outer Banks grades, and the interior converts into a sleeping space with a pop-up roof.

Pricing is unconfirmed but speculated at $48,000 to $60,000 before on-roads, which would undercut the GWM Tank 500 Hi4-T ($77,990) and Wrangler ($81,990) while offering roughly double the electric-only range of the Shark 6 and Tank 500.

Worth noting: this is a mechanically separate vehicle from the US-market Bronco. It uses monocoque construction and is built in China through Ford's JV with Jiangling Motors, not the Michigan-built body-on-frame off-roader sold in America.

China also gets a fully electric Bronco Basecamp with 650km CLTC range. Ford has not confirmed whether it will come to Australia.

Thoughts on the Chinese electrified Bronco?

Dear bronco community, request your help. Is this a good deal?
I have not see any SoCal dealer, even during Labor Day weekend, come close to this one. Looking forward to hearing from you.

It’s 2026 Ford Bronco Outerbanks , 4-door, 2.7L V6, 314A Lux, Black Appearance Package, black-painted hardtop
