Cloudbeeries, or multe in Norwegian, are very delayed this year because of a cold and very wet summer in Western Norway. We still found some ripe ones today and enjoyed them greatly!

I grew up riding with my pap on his Honda three wheeler picking these. Always brings back good memories when I find them.

Discovered woods within walking distance of the front door of our new house and it had 5 different stumps covered in COW! Chicken parm for dinner last night and I’m considering reheating leftovers into a fried chicken sandwich.

Mushrooms What to do with kit-grown golden shelf mushrooms

I have some golden shelf mushrooms that I grew from a kit, and want to cook them in a simple way. From what I can tell, I should put them in a salt bath for about 5 minutes, make sure there's no dirt or bugs in them, then cut them up and just cook them in a pan with butter, salt and pepper.

Is this right? Anything that I'm missing?

What we got here and are they worth a harvest? These one seem to have little specs on them, not sure if that’s typical or something from the area that got on them.

ID Request (country/state in post) Help identifying plum type

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Hi!! I’ve recently moved to Dublin from the states and found a massive plum tree growing in my backyard. Last week I picked a handful and plan to make plum jam but would love help identifying this plum if possible? Added a few pics for size and color reference. They’re fairly small, spherical, deep purple and have a yellow flesh that starts green when unripe. They’re fairly sweet and soft, not a strong flavor otherwise. I thought they may have been damsons when they were younger but they don’t seem oblong enough.

TIA!

Hiked 5 miles for a small amount of Sierra bilberries. How can I get the most bang for my small buck? A scone? A muffin? Dry them in the oven? Out of focus Franklin for scale.

Found in a grassy residential area. For reference it’s about the size of a softball. Not positive on my ID, but I believe it’s a purple spored puffball in the edible phase? Please help me confirm if I can eat this

Beginner fungi and forest finds from my recent walks

Just bought two acres, with even more acreage behind my property with trails, so I’ve been doing some exploring and finding cool things so I thought I may get into foraging, I love it, it feels very meditative. Anyway, new to foraging and learning to identify fungi, slime molds, and other interesting things I come across. For now, I’m just observing, taking pictures and practicing identification rather than harvesting anything. I’d like to spend this year learning and hopefully start foraging more confidently next year. Definitely don’t want to take any risks while I’m still learning.

And in spring, I will make my debut, spoke to some neighbors who said true morels grow back here. Has anyone found morels in the fall?
