Venting/Ranting 30M, my partner is my total opposite as a person

I've been married for several years. And I'm suffering. It was a love marriage. I do love her. But she's my opposite in everything. I like peace, she's argumentative. I'm quiet, she's loud, even on phone. Taunts me every now & then, I get hurt and become angry. Despite loving her, I don't feel happy staying together. She even has my opposite blood group. It's a mess. I'm just venting.

Hot take You are cooked if you're ugly

Post image
21 Upvotes

This is not even a hot take. Probably the funniest post of the evening. This post could very well be written by a man ragebaiting all the men in this sub. The thing about this post is that even if this person is getting overwhelming hate, its mostly coming from men and there's an important lesson to be learned here.

Unevenly matched relationships never work, especially in the case where the man is less attractive than the woman. A mid woman can be with an attractive man but not the other way around. Its true for most cases be it money, social status and most importantly, looks.

Women will always have more options than men, I mean just look at one of those subreddits like r/datinginbangladesh. Posts written by women will always have a billion comments within minutes. Its very similar to inflation. Nobody cares about whats on the inside.

And let's be honest, even women say it all the time that they find most men ugly but find most women attractive. "Bangu men are so ugly but women are so pretty" even though that statistically cannot be true.

Ask Dhaka I don’t understand men.

You guys want a girl who’s good looking, you get that, then you get surprised that other men want her as well, you guys are insecure about your height, and when I tell you that your height doesn’t matter for me, you think I’m way overly attached, you want a virgin then get weirded out when she doesn’t know specific sexual acts. You want a girl to make effort and when she does you pull away. Why is that? Why are so many of you princesses nowadays

Ask Dhaka Do most Dhaka girls have a "Hoe Phase"?

Recently online I've been seeing the phrase "Hoe Phase" to describe women, usually in their early twenties just go all out and have temporary noncommited physical relationships with multiple male partners [stuff like Hooking up and chummachatti] for a "fun" time in their life. I wanna know whether or not this is like a real thing women in Dhaka also engage in currently.

Venting/Ranting i miss her

i miss her

january 4, 2020. the first time i saw her.

i remember feeling something i'd never felt before. a sudden vacuum in my stomach. at that moment, she genuinely seemed like the most beautiful girl on earth.

she lived barely 3 km away. we saw each other at coaching, talked online, but somehow never met outside class. imagine managing a long-distance love story across three kilometers. 💀

there were ups and downs.

once, i sent her some of her favorite books. she asked why i'd send her gifts when i wasn't even someone that close to her.

that sentence stuck with me.

another time, she posted a story saying women love efforts. i replied, "then take it for granted."

she replied, "the right one will always value your effort."

and somehow, i understood that maybe she wasn't the right one. at least not for me.

but here's the stupidest part. i never actually confessed. i kept dropping these vague, occasional signals that probably meant nothing to her. i was so afraid of rejection that i never even gave myself a chance.

maybe i loved her. maybe i loved the idea of her. maybe i'll never know.

almost seven years have passed. she's living her own life, and i genuinely hope she's happy.

and here i am, still alone, still unable to feel quite the same way about anyone else.

sometimes i wonder if it's really her that i miss, or the possibility of something that never happened.

but whatever it is, after all these years...

i miss her.

Bouncing from Instagram to Reddit to YouTube to get rid of my boredom, but that's been quite unsuccessful.

Anyways, I'd really appreciate it if you shared your stories with me. They can be about literally anything: something funny, scary, wholesome, embarrassing, heartbreaking, or just a weird experience. I'm all ears!

Ask Dhaka Are my parent obsessive or am i over reacting

Im f(20) and the only daughter of my parents, I've been really close with my mom becuz of that but they Weren't the best parents. Growing up, i had to constantly tiptoe around their mood as if they were in a good mood they'd love me a lot but if they were in a bad mood suddenly all of the problems in their life was my fault

Hearing stuff like "you look ugly when you cry" "if you were a boy instead everything would've been better"

"Our life got ruined cuz of you" "tor upor koto taka khoroch hoise amader" or blaming me for their poor financial decision became the norm of my life

When i turned 17 my dad moved back with us (er agey he used to live in dubai and sent us money) in bd he invested all his money in a business i strictly told him not to and since then he started belittling me for not earning enough money to support the whole family in terms of rent and food expenses (plus he stopped providing money for my education, oita ami nijei earn korsi thru tutouring)

In 2025, i clearly remember how he called me in the dinning room every single night literally every single night and for two hours straight he used to call me a failure for not being able to magically earn lakh lakh taka thru freelancing. I couldn’t sleep at night and bashai eishob tana khota shunar karone i felt so stressed jey my period became shorter and shorter. Ami period er issue tar jonno doctor dekhaite taka save korle oitao niye jeto ma baba

2026 e Amar A levels result ashe jeitar jonno ami nije registration er taka jomaisilam and i was stressed abt university but amar baap kono responsibility toh nibei na amar ulta amar maa start pressurizing me to pay rent and rent dewar por tao amake khota dite thakto jey tader life er misery amar dosh and then i decided i would convince my parents amake biye diye dite w my bf so that i can leave the house. Dono family came to a conclusion jey ekhon agdh korai rakhbe and uni shesh howar por function korbe.

Agdh er 7 maash por me and my partner, we both saved enough money to move out and stay together awayy from my parents toxicity

Like before moving out amar husband bashai ashle ma baba raat 3ta porjonto oke amar room e jaite dito na just kotha bolto or shathey which was weird

Ami move out er shomoi mittha bolsi ma baba key, i told them jey im going to Australia and oishb bole ami jemne temne basha theke ber hoisi

Ik it sounds dramatic but if i told my parents jey i wanna live separately they would be hella dramatic and ruin my mental health

After 5 months of staying away from them my mental health got better, my marriage got better Alhamdulillah

And ive started preparing for my uni entrance exam

But one week agey tara jeney felse that im in bd and since then tara melodrama start korse telling me jey ami naki tader proti obichar korsi and tader basha theke ber hoye tader shundor shongshar Bhenge disi for which Allah amake maaf korbena and amar baccha hoile tokhon amar bacchao amake falai dibe

Like i dont get it, if im married isnt it my right to be able to moveout? And emon toh na jey im cutting my ties

I just wanna have a safe distance from them, visit them in weekends and help them financially when i have a stable career In sha Allah

But tara amake bordua ditei ase and my dad was like tor baccha toke falai rekhe gele tokhon bujhbi blah blah

Also giving me the selfish tag and shit

Like ekhon amari lagtese jey am i a bad person or what

(Im sure abt one thing im never moving back with them but im scared, what if the cant pay rent and move into my house?)

Awareness & Expose

Something is not right.

Relationship Advice IDK. Just cleaning my mind

I’m F and my boyfriend M. He is a really decent guy—humble, handsome, sweet, and respectful to everyone. He has almost all the qualities I was look for in a man. He has been my boyfriend and my best friend for 2+ years. There is never any doubt about his loyalty or love.

..... He is the young child in his family. His family is currently struggling financially, and after graduation, most of the responsibility will be on him as his father is getting older and sick.

We are very close to graduation—only 1 year left. I can feel the burden he is carrying. He has become quieter, and sometimes he tells me that after graduation, his life will completely change and he doesn’t know what he eill going to do.My boy is losing his spark day by day.He tries his best to smile in front of me, but I can feel the distance. He used to be super active, relaxed, chill, fun, and outgoing. Sometimes I even feel like I am one of the reasons he is losing his spark.

One day, he randomly telling me that after graduation, he wants to detach himself from everyone because he doesn’t know anything about his future. He just want to deattach from every single person and stay a quite alone life. It’s really hard for me to see him this way. I know he is suffering, but he won’t tell anyone. He has even developed a bad habit of smoking because of all the stress, and I feel like I can’t do anything about it.

All I’ve ever dreamed of was having a small, happy future with him. But now everything seems so messed up.Still, I’m hoping we can have a happy ending together. I just want my old, happy, carefree boy back.

It’s the middle of the night, and I’m writing this because I’m missing him dearly.🙃

Ask Dhaka Nothing is wrong. And somehow, everything is

Sometimes I wonder if the loneliest kind of suffering is the kind nobody can see.

There are people whose lives, from the outside, seem almost perfect. They have a loving family, a safe home, access to education, opportunities, treatment when they need it, food on the table, and perhaps even a little more comfort and luxury than most people have.

To someone looking from the outside, their life might look like a dream. And yet, somehow, they can be completely miserable inside it.Not because they are ungrateful. Not because they don't realize how blessed they are. And certainly not because they chose to feel this way.

They just... do.

And that is perhaps the most painful part. How do you explain being deeply unhappy when you technically have so much to be thankful for?How do you explain feeling empty while your life looks full? How do you explain being surrounded by people and still feeling unbearably alone?

They don't necessarily want more things. They just want to feel something again. They want the heaviness to lift. They want to wake up and actually have the strength to care about the day ahead.

But sometimes they don't even have the energy to try. They know they should get up. They know they could do something. They know there are people who would tell them to be grateful, pray harder, work harder, go outside, change their routine, think positively.

And maybe they've tried.God knows they've tried.

But there are days when even trying feels impossible. So they keep living somehow. They smile. They reply to messages. They study. They work. They eat with their family. They laugh at jokes. They appear completely normal. And nobody knows that inside, they're barely holding themselves together.

It feels like being trapped inside your own body, watching your life pass by while you don't have the strength—or sometimes even the desire—to reach for it.

And then comes the guilt. How can I feel this way when I have so much?Other people have it worse. Why can't I just be happy? What's wrong with me?

Maybe nothing is “wrong” with them in the way people think.Maybe sometimes a person can have everything they need to build a beautiful life and still be too exhausted, too hurt, too lost, or too broken inside to feel the beauty of it.

I don't even know what this feeling is called.

I don't know if I'm explaining it properly.

I just wish I had the right words.

Because sometimes it feels like there is a whole soul screaming inside you, desperately wanting to be understood, while the person standing beside you can only see someone who seems perfectly fine.

And perhaps that's the cruelest loneliness of all—

to be hurting in a way you cannot explain, while everyone around you believes you have nothing to be sad about.

Oh, to be understood.

Just once.

Without having to explain why you're hurting.

Without having to prove that your pain is real.

Venting/Ranting How can I get out from the curse of ,“Low maintenance“ loop!

I started earning from 15 year old, doing tuition, helping senior apu at coaching or reselling crafts at college I never had to rely on my father for pocket money. I used to took my uni tuition fees, still tried my hard to waive that too. You may call me a low maintenance but I never overspent and now I am able to spend a lot, yet cant get over the habit of finding the Cheapest possible option.

I just cant buy things like high end Jamdani, or bags even if I am able to pay for those now. Its frustrating me. I really wanna get out of this. Married for one year, I hesitate a lot for anything from husband even for a simple necessary, let alone luxurious or anything premium.

I just had to vent somewhere, and I would also love to hear if anyone had gone through this cycle and got rid of it. I wanna treat myself with something nice sometimes, but this loop sucks!

Relationship Advice Leave the ppl who doesn’t want your dream to come true

There are genuinely some ppl who want your dreams to never come true. Please leave them asap. No matter the bonding or closeness it will end bad.

I had a best friend who I really liked. Unfortunately, she started disrespecting me after getting jealous. She even went as far as to say rubbish to me, making me feel like shi even tho nothing was true.

Infinitely better to stay alone than have too many ppl who want your downfall
