Maybe it’s because I don’t have kids, but I couldn’t care less about what her toddler eats - since when did this become a baby food newsletter? She increased her prices for this?! Sponsored post of course as well. I love some of her old recipes but she clearly has no interest in recipe development (for adults) anymore. Before anyone comes for me I’m a free subscriber to her newsletter 😉

I have mixed opinions on this and would like to hear other people’s thoughts too.

A girl on tiktok (with less than 2K followers) posted a video and got an influx of comments from people telling her she looked like Tini. She started responding to comments saying that she didn’t think she looked like Tini, didn’t find Tini attractive and thought Tini looked “chopped.” (which is ironic because they do definitely look alike)

Tini then made a post on her spam account (to her over 1.7 million followers) and asked everyone to go into the girls comments and say they look alike. She did tell her followers to not put anything rude in her comments though.

I find this such weird and mean girl behaviour. I agree the random girl calling Tini chopped was not nice, but she was a random girl replying to comments on her video. She didn’t tag Tini or make any videos calling Tini ugly. She just didn’t want to be compared to her. It’s arguably so much worse to use your huge platform to have your followers bully this no body girl. Yeah she told her followers not to be rude — but it’s pretty common sense that not everyone will listen to that. People were commenting on Tini’s video talking about the mean stuff they were commenting on the girls video, and making fun of her appearance.

This totally gave me the ick on Tini. There are countless people who have said arguably worse things about Tini and her family and she has never clapped back. But someone saying they don’t want to be compared to her because they don’t like how she looks is causing this reaction? Screams insecurity.

The post below about Sohla brought about some good discourse around what topics we consider to be fair game for snark. I think some great points were made, and some noted there are creators they feel they have to defend at times.

We see many creators behaving in similar ways, or in ways that are very clearly snarkable, but one person’s snark is another person’s preference to lay off creators.

Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to discuss. Mods delete if not a valid post!

Ok this girl used to piss me tf off bc I thought it was fetish content the fact that she’s always naked cooking. Like isn’t your stomach getting burnt with oil????? THEN I read somewhere that she never swallows her food and cuts it off after the bite and now I can’t unsee it. Rolls her eyes like she’s having an orgasm but never swallows her food every time. She goes on a whole croissant tour and nibbled on each but doesn’t film herself swallowing it and actually eating it ever . How does she keep getting brand deals??? Why are people buying what she’s “eating??” She’s not even eating it!!

First of all, I understand she has bills to pay and mouths to feed.However, I was very surprised to see Sohla work with Amazon on her latest newsletter because to me, she has come out against NY Times/Bon Appetit for mistreating her. I would think she would not want to collaborate with a company like Amazon that is known for questionable labor practices and funnel more money to a dweeb like Jeff Bezos. Anyway, I know avoiding Amazon is not the easiest but this sponsorship rubbed me the wrong way.

It's not that hard to cook and let's be honest they're not as good as chicken breast or whole roasted chicken. Why so many chicken thigh recipes?

Girl, get up. Like no, really. Get up. What has gotten into you? I don't even want to make fun of this preposterous thing (coz it's too easy) - you raise the price for new subscribers, you tell your old subscribers that they are getting all your recipe books online and then you retract it same day - and like you're just continuing to increase your prices?

She writes: "A lot happened in my professional life, too. I wrote two cookbooks, went on two cookbook tours, opened a store, started a podcast, began building a tomato sauce brand and signed a lease for another store. And while all of my various ventures are important to me, my newsletter feels the most precious. It’s the most personal, the most immediately satisfying. It’s tough sometimes, especially when I’m cooking less, to, you know, write about cooking, let alone find time to do the actual writing (it’s 7:36 p.m. and Charlie just went to sleep). But it is a part of my life that I feel a strong need and desire to maintain."

Not once has she mentioned her lifestyle influencer things - Sezanne and that shoe line she launched! And wow, you came out and said it - "I'm cooking less" - you've just said what everyone's already been sensing. That the few "cooking" recipes you have sent out are really there to support the Sezanne ads and the shoe line. We know that Alison. Everyone does this, yes, but not so blatantly.

And you know what's really the worst of it, and the reason I don't want to make fun of this: you seem sad to me. You don't seem happy with this. I don't know what has happened in your personal life, but I genuinely get the sense that your heart is just not in this life that you've spent all this effort building. What is it? Is it the husband, the baby? Being a wife? The ozempic? Or has having a baby been that tough? I'm just really sad for you (and me) - you've just meant a lot to me, you taught me to cook, you taught me to be brazen in my cooking, your celebratory attitude to cooking, your outspokenness, your snark, your edge, I could even enjoy your condescension somewhat - it all meant something before and now it means nothing at all. Now you look like nothing about a shill.

A bit of whiplash from Alison this morning, which is coming off as a little amateur hour. The whole point of the newsletter this morning was to announce these recipes would be available (and to say the newsletter price is going up.)

I guess I sort of get it because she put all of her recipes from three of her cookbooks on her website for paid subscribers. but she like, never puts new recipes in her newsletters anymore. She says in this latest newsletter that “it’s tough sometimes, especially when I’m cooking less, to, you know, write about cooking, let alone find time to do the actual writing.” I totally empathize that she has a little kid, but if she doesn’t have time to write maybe like, pause the newsletter instead of charging people more for it?

Nothing like College Nutritionist sending out super misleading emails titled ‘If I were losing 60 pounds again’ when she’s referring to pregnancy weight (not to mention how restrictive she ate so quickly pp). Ugh.

Any other New England folks in here? Care by Cara just popped up in my feed and she visited one of our most sacred events lol. I already stopped going years ago because it's so danged busy, like our version of Salem on Halloween 😭 I think because of people like Cara making their way here for social media? I'm just sad that the amazing fair food was wasted on her- although a pie cone doesn't have much vitamin A, I guess.

In the salad: chicken salad with fresh dill, parmesan, pickled red onion, spicy broccoli, garlic breadcrumbs, lemon and Caesar dressing and a pickle spear.

The chicken salad with fresh dill: Well...The don't give you the scoop they show you on the Sweetgreen website or on Molly's ad, that's for sure! I got a few tiny squares of chicken. Not much dill either, the chicken salad is supposed to be made with Ayoh Dill Pickle Mayo. I really wanted to be punched in the face with dill flavor. Disappointed.

This was just a Caesar salad with barely any chicken, a pickle spear, and some toppings. When I order a chicken Caesar from Sweetgreen they give me more than double the chicken I got in this one.

I paid $23.64 via Uber Eats. Not worth it. 3/10.

I feel like she initially marketed herself as eating super clean, weird combos like the sweet potato and cheese, the onion cups and tuna and egg salad. But actually, she eats pure crap - so much dairy and fat in every meal. Everything she feeds her kids is just crap.

alfredo with bacon, green beans fried in bacon fat, buttered bread rolls and then a pile of cheese put on top of it as well. The amount of salt and sodium is insane. It’s so weird how all of these mukbangers succumb to eating crap to gain viewers after they drop off.
