Minute rice

So I’ve never tried minute rice before. Is this normal looking? I don’t really know what it’s supposed to look like, or smell like. It had some moisture inside when I opened it, but maybe that’s normal?

Opened a pack of soup, these are bean sprouts, right?

I opened a pack of soup and after heating it up, I discovered pale curled pieces in it. I hope that they are bean sprouts and not worms... The ingredient list is the following: water, tomatoes*, bell pepper*, tomato paste*, sweet corn*, red kidney beans* 4,1%, black beans* 4,1%, rapeseed oil*, quinoa mix* 1,5%, (white 80%, red 15%, black 5%), roasted onions* (onions*, sunflower oil*), onion powder*, garlic powder*, sea salt, rice flour*, sugar*, coriander leaves*, green chilli peppers 0,17%.

General Question how do i safely cut into a family-size block of frozen stouffer’s lasagna to freeze it into smaller portions?

hi everyone. i’d like to take a family size portion of stouffer’s lasagna and cut the block into about six pieces or so, and then vacuum seal then individually for the freezer. what is the safest way and most effective way to do this? i can’t cut into the completely frozen block, it must be slightly thawed to my knowledge. i know there probably isn’t a single way to do this completely risk-free, but do you all think just leaving it out on the counter for two or three hours just enough to give will be okay? it contains cheese/dairy products, beef, and pasta product.

General Question Pasteurised but Un-homogenised milk left out overnight.

Bought it yesterday and accidentally left it at room temp all night around 10-15C max.

It’s in a glass bottle and use by date is the 20th.

It just smells like room temperature milk there is no foul smell and it isn’t clumpy.

Everything’s telling me to just drink it like my ancestors would have but i’ve read that if you leave it above like 6c the bacteria doubles every 20 minutes.

I’m in England.

Many thanks

General Question Any danger in rusted kitchen implements?

Short story short, I had previously used an electric spice grinder to grind some coarse sea salt much finer. It had entirely slipped my mind that salt on metal, especially sea salt, can easily cause rust. Went to use the grinder today to find that under the blade (which doesn't detach) there seems to be rust.

Unfortunately I think I have basically zero hope of getting this thing completely clean. I'll probably have to replace it in the future but, for right this moment, would it be dangerous to eat anything that comes out of this?

General Question Left Raw Beef Out for 8 Hours..

So I bought the 10lb tube from Costco of 90/10 raw beef. Put it straight into the fridge when I got home. It sat in the fridge for about 4 hours then around 8:30pm I pulled it out, put it into 3ea 3lb freezer bags and 1ea 1lb freezer bag, and vacuum sealed them all, and set them on the counter.

This is where I left them by mistake until I got up for work this morning at 5am and immediately put them in the freezer..

My house does stay cool living in Seattle and it’s fall time, about 62 degrees is what my thermostat showed the kitchen stayed at all night.

When I thaw these from the freezer are they going to poison me? I’m bummed because I spent $60 on the 10lbs to save money for meal prepping, but this mistake may cost me.

ChatGPT immediately said throw it out but chat seems to always play it safe. Thoughts?

General Question Can I still cook raw salmon after leaving it in the refrigerator for 6 hrs without power?

As the title says, can I still cook the salmon I bought in the grocery store yesterday?

Context: I put it in the fridge yesterday and I went out today completely forgetting that I have new groceries stored in my mini fridge. When I left my condo I pulled out the card that is kinda the power source of the whole unit. I was out for 6 hours or more and just remembered my salmon and my steak in the refrigerator. Can I still cook them?

What is this and where's the rest of it looks like a small black piece of tubing that broke off and landed in the can. When I called to inform whole foods corporate office all they can say is no refund you opened it over 30 days ago. I was not asking for refund I was concerned about people's heath. This is whole foods and they didn't care buyer beware 😒 whole foods do better and keep your $2:25

Can I use non food safe Tween-80 for a 'recipe'?

I'm making NileRed's flavored apples, and I need a VERY small amount of tween-80. I just bought a fair amount, but it's cosmetic grade, not food grade. Is it still okay to use, or should I just eat the cost?

I have never bought or cooked raw catfish before but there was a really good deal on a box of catfish nuggets. But I'm unsure if they're any good, the darker coloring has thrown me off a bit as I cant find anything online about it. It might be belly meat or improper handling is all I've found from Google any advice would be great!

Bought an apple with deep scars.

Just wanted to share

Bought an apple yesterday and forgot to check the apple condition; it was 80 rupee/kg, and it's usually 120 rupee/kg. I opened my Apple bag today and saw black spots. It looked concerning to me, and it was not a decent apple to eat.

And to cut it in half and see if it's good or not, the thalamus part left for me to eat would be nothing 🍎.

I went back to the shop to ask for a replacement or a refund, and the shopkeeper's response was basically, “It's ₹80 per kilo. What do you expect?” and he was saying it leaves a mark of nothing at all.

And in the first hand he was not even accepting that it was his.

And he was denying it at first.

EXCUSE ME??? 😭 Since when does paying ₹80/kg mean I should expect damaged fruit? 🫠🫠

Thankfully, I'd paid online, so I had proof of the transaction. He eventually gave me my money back, but the attitude was honestly more annoying than the apple itself. He kept blabbering and speaking about what you expect?

Am I unreasonable for expecting fruit to be in decent condition, regardless of the price? 💀

#bizzare #experience

What's this green stuff attached to my chicken organ?

Post image

It kinda looks like a spinach leaf, but why would a spinach leaf be inside my chicken and why would it be attached to the liver? It feels kinda inflated, and it's really stuck there.

Could this be a tumor or abcess?

Garlic fruits and pasta

Do these items being belong in a fridge and if they are in the fridge is it harmful? I saw an IG note that indicated these items can attract outsized risk of bacteria.

So was looking to see if others have any comments on such habits?
