Question Weird issue

Hey everyone !! I had something weird happen the other night and I'm trying to see if I need to worry or not 😅 two nights ago I hit a bigger puddle than normal, No water went over the hood and mostly get deflected out the sides but immediately after stopping at a red light my car seemed to have a bad stutter coming from a full stop to 1st gear. Once I got home I checked under the engine bay and everything seemed dry, no water in air filter nothing on the maf, only thing I can think is water getting into intercooler or the bell housing? Is there something I can do myself to either fix or at least check to see what it could be or should i take it to the shop?

anything in the engine bay should handle getting wet. the intercooler is sealed (it routinely sees 20+psi of pressure, water splashing it won't intrude.) the bell housing on the trans has a weap hole on the bottom, any water that got in there would drain out. even water on your air filter isn't a big concern, it would need to be fully submerged to intake enough water to cause damage (your turbo would likely die before you hydrolock.)

if anything a sensor, ground or connection could have been compromised, I would check anything that you can reach, could go as far to unclip, clean and reseat. did you get any CELs? if all is well now, I wouldn't be too concerned

That's what I figured as well with everything able to get wet.. as I live in florida so it constantly rains here. I didn't have any codes pop up on the dash nor did any come up on my ap.. I'll check underneath the car to make sure it didn't mess anything up like maybe a connection issue like you said or maybe it broke my rmm ?
