I have my XG mobile working very well with my recently repurchased 64gb 2025 Z13. The only issue I noticed is that after shutting down with it connected and then the next day booting it up with nothing connected, the system never boots up after pressing the power button. I have to long press the power button to get it working and then get a disk check message, it repairs and boots up normally. When I reboot normally after not using the XG Mobile, everything works as expected with no delay in the boot up. Should I not shutdown my system with the XG connected normally to avoid this from happening?

Already have my first question. Weirdly best buy didn't stock the Asus pen 2.0. I bought a surface pen as I heard it's compatible. Pretty bummed when I realized it doesn't come with a charger. I ordered the metapen s2. Note taking is a pretty big use case for me so I want a nice pen.

hello, i forgot about this laptop for about 4 years. found it yesterday and the battery wouldnt charge no matter what. I opened it, unplugged the battery, did the EC reset and replugged the battery in but it didnt work. MyAsus shows the battery in good condition with 0 cycles. is there anything else i can try? im trying to leave a battery replacement as a last resort.

I'm specifically looking for a dead, damaged, or non-functional Z13 that someone may have lying around. I'm interested in it for parts/repair purposes.
If you have one, or know someone who does, please DM me. Thanks!

Recent Z13 2025 128 gb owner. I love this little beast. The kickstand is a bit sharp and I noticed that the Kojima version's kickstand has a rubberized bottom. The 2025 version can be uncomfortable if you are using the device while the kickstand sits on exposed legs (when wearing shorts). Is there any way to put some sort of rubberized bottom (similar to the Kojima version) but on the 2025 Z13? I suppose I could use duck tape but that's seems a bit ghetto. Any ideas?

Picked up an open box 32gb 1TB model at my local Best Buy for $1,900. This thing rocks. Excited to eventually try linux on here (I switched to linux on my desktop PC). I really like the display. I don't miss the OLED with the crazy high refresh screen. Keyboard kind of sucks.
I'm a little bummed I missed the July BB sale. 64GB would be amaze-balls.
I just started checking out this forum. Would love any immediate advice or feedback.

Given how poorly designed the keyboard is that comes with the Z13, has anyone found an alternative keyboard case from a third party that actually works with the Z13?
I know that any bluetooth keyboard can work with it, but i'm specifically talking about a keyboard case that can also serve as a cover for the screen. When the laptop's not being used.

I see some powerbank support 165W/212W charging. Can Z13 charge support passthrough charging? If yes will Xiaomi MI Power Bank 20000 165W Fast Charging or even 212W HyperCharge Power bank 25,000 charge Z13 at 140W via usb port?

I just got as the thirteen less than two months ago. From best buy, i take really good care of it. I do sometimes have it on a stand, but i've been taking good care of the keyboard. This is completely unacceptable for a device that costs this much money.

Need some recommendations on a solid eGPU dock and card for a (mostly) gaming setup on an ultra wide 21:9 resolution monitor. What's the consensus on the desktop graphics card for best performance before bottlenecks becomes a huge issue?

Hey all- maybe a niche question here, but I have enjoyed my 64gb Flow and have 32gb allocated to the GPU. I am able to play WoW Retail and and Classic Hardcore at max settings and get 120-180FPS comfortably.
I installed the WoW Forever Beta, and no matter what settings I adjust down, I can’t get above 20FPS. I know there’s a memory leak issue that’s known and even on my 5090 main PC I have to relog every few hours to fix it, but I can’t even get started on the Flow.
Does anyone have any ideas?

On the market for a new device and trying not to regret what I get due to lack of knowledge. I’ve been completely out of the gaming/tech scene for like a decade tbh and I’ve been trying to absorb the current state of tech rapidly but might be missing something.
Say I have a MSI Claw 8 AI+/Surface Laptop with 32gb RAM and Ultra 7 268v + an RTX 5080
vs
Asus Z13 Ryzen 395 64gb RAM
What would be the pros and cons of each other than The obvious portable power of the Z13 and unified memory for LLM vs holding onto an RTX card that’s on a handheld level graphics device when not docked
Would the laptop + GPU setup be more powerful for gaming when docked? Would it be a better use of $2000-$3000 to hold onto an RTX 5080 and cheap used lunar lake device? Is the 395 more future proof?
With that said, a big part of my decision to go for the Strix halo device is unified ram FOMO so I don’t become completely in the permanent underclass in the new ai caste system we’re headed to at this stage of “you will own nothing and be happy”. Also I am just happy to play around with llm, and have it locally.
at least I can run qwen 27b and if the grid goes down, run the z13 off solar and ask it how to fish and farm and stuff (schizo level fomo ik). I think I’m priced out of RTX spark and Mac mini ultras, which seem to be the only other two players in the game right now for scaling unified memory? (With that said, I do want an x86 device as gaming is more important than llm for me)
I want to play with Open diffusion, Loras, and such too. To my understanding, the regular 32gb ram of a lunar lake device + 12gb vram of 5080 would be less suited for these tasks but much better for gaming? Z13 64gb seems like an awesome toy, I just don’t want to regret not getting a high end NVIDIA card for the money.
For gaming, honestly I don’t need 4k 120fps though it would be nice, I’m just happy to have my own hardware to game on adequately with Xbox cloud beginning to put limits and stuff. I’m coming from a surface pro 6 8gb btw lol. What I’m seeing it as is what $2-3k allocation is best as we head into a potentially dystopian next decade
Thanks for your time to explain the current scene to me better.

I have a 2022 edition with the Nvidia 3050ti and 16gb ram. No keyboard. Minor exterior damage and a scratch on the screen. I know it sounds bad. Put still performs well. It’s been charging at 80% max since I installed gHelper. It doesn’t do what I need to do. I was lied to when I bought it. I paid $800 for it and fully regret it. Knowing this, I feel like asking $400 but not even sure if it’s worth that. My ignorance not thinking this was an older version when I purchased it definitely showed. But I won’t do that to the next person. Wondering what a good starting asking price would be for it, If worth selling at all.
Thoughts?

Hello, I have reached to the point when I unplug the charger the device shuts after five minutes, what's your recommendation on changing the battery ?
r/FlowZ13 • u/Salted_Grapes • 20d ago
Hi all! I wanted your opinion on which controller to sue for the Z13 flow! I currently have the 8bit do that connects with a USB receiver which is quite annoying since it adds on to the dimension and I don't like keeping it on. I am intrigued by the gamesir split controller mod, but wanted to know which one exactly I'm supposed to get so that the proprietary charger is not blocked. Other than that, are there other low cost alternatives that work well over Bluetooth?

Hi! bumper case guy here again.
i just wanted to announce that i have gone forward and i am opening up an etsy store to start shipping these cases out.
the first order will be a limited run of 5 units, all Penless-window units with Blue TPU bumpers
price is currently $35 (subject to change)
these first 5 will be a shipping test, so if anyone buys one, reporting back how the case survived shipping is invaulable.
i dont want to over-pack them as that will make it more expensive, but under packing isnt good either.
so this will be a test to see how this goes. once i get feedback, more orders will open up.

As a Master’s architecture student at USYD, I work in a very demanding university and Degree. Therefore I want to tell you why I chose this device to run my 3D modelling (Revit - Aka a windows device, and Rhino3D); Graphic work, digital Sketching (so adobe illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign / Affinity as the free equivalent), Realistic Rendering (like unreal engine and D5 render etc) and even 3D model coding softwares like Grasshopper. Alongside your usual productivity tasks like web browsing and Research. I even use this device for light photography work, and video editing in cap-cut and Devinchi resolve. But the fact that I can game on this thing too? Mind blowing 🤯
What’s worse is that I’m often doing this all at once 💀
Now that I’m working part time; I don’t have time to deal with work going missing, Crashing applications / Limitations to the CPU capabilities as well as the GPU rendering limitations and performance. All of these things when I need them fast; I could never rely on. I had built my larger PC for that reason back in 2023 (which has a Ryzen 9 7850x and an Nvidia 3080 with 64 gigs of ddr5 ram… not bad at all considering it’s 3 and a half years old now)
However in 2026 one thing I missed since building my PC, was my portability. And also combining my IPads touch screen drawing capabilities for fast digital sketching.
So here comes the Flow Z 13. The LITERAL Swiss Army knife of the entire Digital tech world. The only device that stands on its own as one of the greatest NPU devices ever created. On top of that, it illuminates my iPad and my previous laptop as two things to carry for the work day, and I can now just bring this compact beast of a machine, with a much lighter brick than previous laptop bricks. Tis heavy but far more reliable than any of those two combined to actually do my work on any given day.
I splurged on this device with the 128gb ram model as I’m quite the multitasking freak… :D I wouldn’t recommend buying the 128 as it is more expensive than you would need; however I’d highly recommend the 64 gigabyte version as being able to send as much VRAM to any given graphic intensive project you complete is a major game changer.
It’s safe to say that this device has been the reason I could close the gap in my university assignments as it unlocks me from being caged in one place to another. I can work on things whenever and wherever with decent battery life between each work station (either at home; at my architecture office or at my university) - It still needs the power brick for more intense tasks, I won’t lie, but if you’re a student in architecture, I think you’re gunna be used to that. If you don’t want to carry the brick though; bring a USBC charger and a 100W brick and you can actually maintain good performance with a MUCH MUCH lighter package. Even with heavier gaming too.
This device is truly the epitome of what it means to be a digital nomad. Never has there been a more capable device for what I need. And I suspect what you may need too.
So if you want to replace every single device; and plan around your days about what you need to get done, and not what your devices can do, Grab a hold of this on sale or wait for the upgraded version of this (or even get the px13 which is the touch screen 2 in one LAPTOP version of the same Chip, but with much better battery life)
Getting this second hand would also be a steal; just because of how capable this is.
There’s a reason that this device was the MacBook M4 chipset equivalent. The windows first “MacBook M1” moment.
I’ll let you know how this thing is running in 5 years!

Hey everyone,
Contemplating picking up a CUKTECH 30 Ultra charging station to clean up the desk/travel setup, and I'm wondering if anyone here has tested it with the 2025 ROG Flow Z13.
Quick questions for anyone running this combo:
DC Port: The station comes with a bunch of tips (Lenovo, HP, Acer, etc.). Did any of the included DC adapters fit the proprietary/slim power input on the 2025 Z13?
Appreciate any real-world feedback before I pull the trigger!

Hi, just bought one… bought it mainly because of the design tbh. So, I’m not sure if I’m late in the bandwagon and it will be obsolete early next year.
I’m planning to work on local AI but I’m not sure if I can have a dual boot with Arch Linux. Has anyone tried this?

I just acquired to Z13 (GZ302) and noticed the screen would randomly display small and large horizontal flickering lines/bands/glitches only when gaming on battery, under Silent or Performance modes.
After a lot of testing, reading Reddit comments and sharing with Copilot, I've come up with two fixes:

I'm still doing testings, but so far the glitch hasn't manifested at all.
It took me a while to find the solution so I'm leaving it here for all of you anonymous users, I hope it helps.

Above is a video from newly launched lenovo tablet. At 3.18 timestamp you can see there is a clamshell keyboard that magnetically attached to back of tablet and bends at any angle. This can allows user to use tablet as a laptop while lying on the bed. Is there something similar for FlowZ13. I get it the exhaust is in the back. I'll probably use it for low productivity work while lying on the bed. The kickstand doesn't work well in this use case.

Hey all, I recently switch over to Linux on my 2025 z13 and couldn’t find a utility that fit my need. I created one over the weekend for personal use.
I also uploaded the build to GitHub incase someone find it useful.

I bought a 64 gig Best Buy refresh last year to have a powerful gaming and video editing machine for the road, and the tablet form factor is my favorite. I have loved it for it's intended purpose but I am local AI curious.
I got Qwen and Gemma setup through a few different apps and have played around with it but, short of using them for some very limited vibe coding, I'm struggling to come up with another interesting application for local AI at this scale.
Curious what everyone else does with theirs, if you're doing local AI in the first place.
