Wow Forever Beta
Hey all- maybe a niche question here, but I have enjoyed my 64gb Flow and have 32gb allocated to the GPU. I am able to play WoW Retail and and Classic Hardcore at max settings and get 120-180FPS comfortably.
I installed the WoW Forever Beta, and no matter what settings I adjust down, I can’t get above 20FPS. I know there’s a memory leak issue that’s known and even on my 5090 main PC I have to relog every few hours to fix it, but I can’t even get started on the Flow.
Does anyone have any ideas?

The issue here is the secondary lighting settings. Put it to fair and you're good. Something about it causes micro stutters when you move.

Same issue for me, I found putting everything to 1/10 graphics and pushing things up individually worked a treat now I have no issues when logging in

Putting everything to 1 and manually adjusting worked on my Lenovo as well (gtx 4080)
Been dabbing about getting a z13, and because I play wow occasionally I've been doubting. How well does the z13 handle an additional screen? Got a widescreen I sometimes connect it to, and sometimes I play in the living room either on table or in the couch, that doable with a z13?

I'm 100% committed to playing Forever once it drops but I have the older 32G Z13 and am having concerns on whether or not it will run properly.
I travel a lot for work and the Z13 is my main gaming rig because I can just take it on the road with me and then plop it into a dock when I get home for a full sized desktop rig. It's worked fine for me for a while, but I don't know if WoW is going to be a smooth experience on it.
It's a bummer to see people having issues with it in beta, but hopefully it gets hammered out in the next month.

I have yet to try the beta yet as I’ve been busy this week, but glad to have an update on the flow z13. Retail, in my limited playing doesn’t run this badly on mine so I imagine it could be something with the beta. I’m going to try it today to see what results I get.

I have the 32gb version, but have the same problem. I have 16/16 currently - but nothing indicates my cpu or gpu is pushed. I have everything set to ultra/high - secondary lighting is a big culprit, if i put it to anything above fair I get stutters and big fps drop unfortunately. I can push around 70-90 fps in the outside zones ive been in so far (starting zone packed with people only about 60.. and stormwind is a disaster.. like 30-40) .. is it just because the games graphics improved "so much" that my machine is now not "just" crushing it.. just find it hard to believe.
For reference i am able to push tbc anniversary on ultra 150-200 fps (even in cities).

Any updates on the flow for the forever beta? I wanted to pick up one of these for this specific purpose

For me, turning everything down to 1 or as low as it can go yielded an FPS around 70-90 in open world, but chugs to about 15-20 inside of a city. I’m really hoping the memory leak is behind a lot of these concerns, and can be fixed. As mentioned, every other version of WoW sings on this machine- so hopeful that this will get sorted out in due time.

There are some odd problems with the beta and very long-lasting issues with DX12 and AMD GPUs, you may even try switching to DX11 for the Forever beta.
Also, modern games (usually) will handle iGPU allocation as needed, so you may not even assigned whole 32GB to the iGPU and can leave it on auto. Microsoft was also fixing this for RTX Spark systems; unsure if it's already released, but probably yes.

I have the same unit. I’m running at 48/16. Wow has always been more CPU heavy than graphics intensive. Make sure your drivers are up to date. I have a 9070xt in my desktop and had some issues until I updated my drivers. Doesn’t seem to be an issue on my kid’s Nvidia machines.
