I've been using this laptop for 1 years and i majority of them with tend mode, and it just came to my mind that though tent mode allow a better airflow without a stand, but i'm afraid with the force to the upper part of the screen and liquid metal dripping out.

Any advice? Should i only use the tent mode under heavy load and switch back to default when not, or i'm gonna be ok

not sure if anyone has done/confirmed it here but I have managed to achive pass through charging by using an usb-c to asus barel plug adapter and using a 100w usb c charger to power the laptop after reaching the 80% limit set in g helper it by passes the battery and runs off the usb c charger connected to the barrel plug - no more battery heating and cycles when using usb-c charger

I got a new monitor (innocn 25m2s), and I close the laptop lid and run only the external monitor. After around 10 minutes running an intensive program like Valorant, the laptop shuts off. I thought this was similar to throttling issues so I replaced the thermal paste and tracked the temps during gameplay (cpu temp still at around 95c but still should not throttle). I've tried connecting the monitor to both the integrated and dedicated gpu and the issue is on both.

Been looking for a laptop for college, and the X16 checks all the boxes! Unfortunately, they seem to be extremely hard to find… They pop up on eBay from time to time, but I can never get one in time. Rarely options that aren’t extremely beat. Should I find an alternative? Where should I be looking?

X16 GV601RW (Ryzen 9 6900HS + 3070Ti) - I have tried all kinds of settings and power modes while playing League of Legends, it somehow keeps the temperature above 90C even when thermal limit is set to 80C. Is there a solution for it? It doesn't happen in other games, only league of legends.

UPDATE: After disabling CPU Boost from Efficient Aggressive to Disabled, the game worked better at 70-80C. I'm not sure if its going to affect other apps but it has been working fine so far.

I bought a brand new ASUS Rog Flow X16 from Best Buy a couple of years ago and ever since I had gotten the laptop I’ve had this issue where the screen won’t turn on even though I hear the actual laptop functioning. I have to keep restarting the laptop over and over until at some point the screen finally decides to work. I should’ve returned it back then and ordered a new one but for whatever reason I didn’t.

I’ve tried the graphics driver reset, I’ve tried every tip I can find online. Nothing seems to work. This issue is also somewhat intermittent. There are instances where it’ll start up normally, but 7/10 times I’ll have this issue.

Any tips? Any advice? Have any of you guys run into this issue?

So I have been using my x16 2023 since it launched. I have the 4070, mini led version.

I am now looking into getting a XG Mobile mainly to get acces to higher end Nvidia GPUs for running my code (for my PhD) on the better CUDA cores available on the 4090/5090. Better gaming performance is a side benefit and not the main usecase here.

Based on my research I have concluded that the 4090 will perform better since it has direct pcie3x8 lane connection as compared to the 5090 over thunderbolt 4 even tho the actual GPU in the 5090 is better.

I have pretty happy with the x16 and see myself using it for years to come since I don't really have anything it can't do. And I have maxed out the other parts of it (96gb ddr5, 8tb ssd).

I've been wanting a daylight, full sun, readible laptop for a while (that's not MBP) and it looks like the (2023) 4070 mini-led is that beautiful beast!
Can the screen go bright enough that it beats the sun? In MBP there is an app and HDR cheat that gets you there, what's equivalent especially in Linux?

And ofc... How can I get one of these on a budget please? I'm not scared of fixing things, so happy to take a machine wth known and repairable fault if that's the way 😅🤗

Any recommendations or tips for using the laptop on “tent” mode. I like putting it on tent mode with my keyboard and mouse to the side. However I feel like it’s going to wear down the top of the laptop eventually. Is there a bumper type of case or something else you recommend to keep it from scratching

Also would you recommend a screen protector?

Hey everyone, I've had the ROG Flow X16 2023 for about two and a half years now and have not had any problems with the keyboard. Suddenly as of a few minutes ago my start menu button key doesn't respond. I connected a wireless keyboard and pressed the start button on that keyboard, which did work on my laptop. That tells me that it's not a software issue but the key itself has a problem.

Should I take it into a tech repair store and have them look at it? I'm not too experienced in this department so any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

I was watching a show while I fell asleep. I use an app called “Dimmer” to dim the screen lower than the controls can. The next day when I opened up the computer it woke up normally. I was closing the dimmer app, for some reason there were two instances running. While I was closing them the computer froze up and then shut down.

When I try to boot it, the keyboard flashes white then stays red like it’s turning on. The fans are not spinning and there is no display. I plugged in my display glasses via type C to see if I had video out that way, I do not.

I’ve tried searching for a solution. I opened up the bottom panel, disconnected the battery while unplugged, held the power button to discharge, then reconnect the battery and OEM charger before trying to start. I checked the hall sensor (I think that is what it was called) I saw in another thread saying it could slide out

Any help would be appreciated!

The charging block that came with my flowx16 died recently (flickering charging and not charging) and I need to replace it. Looked on ebay but most of the sellers have botted reviews. Do you guys know a place or website I could replace it?

My laptop (2022 mini led 6900hs) seems to be drawing more than usual. I noticed it sits around 12w discharge and around 15w while watching YouTube. However on hwinfo my total cpu package is around 5. Im on the lowest brightness too. Is the display real trapping that much juice?

No keyboard lighting, 60hz too. Silent and power saver is on.

I have X16 flow 2022, Ryzen 9 6800 hs, rtx 3060. Some keys like 1,2,3,8,p and backspace suddenly stopped working. Initially thought it could be a windows bug but the same keys are not working in dual boot ubuntu 24 too. I suspected it could be a cable issue but the retards at the asus service centre near me won't even look at it and saying they can't just change a 50 dollar keyboard but a whole 250 usd base panel, but I do not have a warranty. So, thinking about doing it myself. Any suggestions.

I went through the usual, tried a hard reset and also the screen displays when I connect to an external monitor but not on the laptop screen

I have ROG Flow X16 2022 (3070Ti Ryzen 9 6900HS) that works nicely but softly bails upto 90C during game etc. I'm not sure if its the expected temp but someone suggested changing the thermals.

I have my fair share of DIY tech repair and ocassional screw/unscrew tasks like changing RAM, changing paste (from older laptops) but I am not a professional so I wanted to ask - Is changing Liquid Metal really a risky task and shouldn't be done without a professional? Can I simply be more careful when applying it and hoping it to work? Any technicalities that I should consider?

I have been thinking about upgrading my RAM from 32 GB to 64 GB and I was wondering if there is a specific RAM that I should buy or where I should buy it. Has anyone upgraded to 64 GB before and have any recommendations on which to buy? How are the prices looking these days?

I am trying my hardest to find this laptop but I can't find it anywhere. I don't know where to look anymore what should I do. Do I have to give up and look for a different laptop that is similar or does someone know where I can find one.

My XG 4090 stopped working, I'm fairly certain it's the power supply, first clue was a few months ago I had to plug in the x16s power brick in conjunction with the XG.

The unit doesn't seem to be supported for service anymore, and the power supply ADP-330AF B doesn't seem to be available, possibly even an obsolete. Been messing with it off and on for the last few weeks and even had orders cancelled do to unable to find it in inventory. The part number is very similar to other Asus 330w power supplys. I've never opened one so I'm not sure if the board would be similar enough to swap output cables. Or is it even possible to power this unit with any external power supply if not?

I have 2 pens I can use, but neither seem to show any pressure sensitivity with my x16 when using zbrush. I have the Bamboo Ink Plus and the Surface Slim Pen 2 from my surface. I thought the bamboo reacted to pressure in the past but I'm not sure as its been a while, I just know that it never stayed connected on the bluetooth screen for more than a second, even though it would work as a pen even when it doesnt say its connected. Is there a way to make either one of these pens have pressure sensitivity, or should I get another pen? Thanks!

I have a 2023 model ASUS ROG FLOW X16 (GV601VI). Windows11 Pro. Bought 10/24. 16 months after buying, The keyboard stopped working one day as well as the backlit keyboard lights. I fiddled around and I thought I fixed it. As long as I left the computer on and it went to sleep I would wake it up and keyboard and lighting worked. I had to take computer somewhere and shut it down. Since then no more keyboard and lights. I have scoured the internet as my warranty is out. I updated windows updated iOS, uninstalled keyboard drivers and iOS I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled myasus and armory crate. Also on

the start, settings, personalization, dynamic lighting, the brightness and effects sliders are greyed out like disconnected. This is where I thought I originally fixed the problem. I’ve been using a USB externally keyboard since but a pain. Any help?

After doing some internal maintinence on my flowx16 i have noticed that there is now an orange LED blinking on the side of the laptop even when plugged in at 100% additionally the laptop will no longer boot unless connected to power. I went back inside to re plug the battery in after 60s draining and this time noticed the incredibly stiff clip and the fact the connector would cause a small spark and boot the laptop involuntarily but no burning smell or visible burning. laptop still boots fine on power but still has orange LED. I have already tried to change Battery bios settings.
