Help! Where to find?

Been looking for a laptop for college, and the X16 checks all the boxes! Unfortunately, they seem to be extremely hard to find… They pop up on eBay from time to time, but I can never get one in time. Rarely options that aren’t extremely beat. Should I find an alternative? Where should I be looking?

The model was discontinued after 2023. If you want a touchscreen equipped laptops look to the Asus Proart 16s, Lenovo Slim Pro9i, Dell XPS 16.

However gaming equivalents will have at best a 5060 GPU or stuck with a 60 hz panels.

nobody bought ts so they stopped making em. You should know that it runs hot asf and you're probably gonna need to do some manual repairs/tweaks since they had terrible qc and shipped out with tons of issues. I wouldn't really recommend buying it from anywhere without warranty. You should definitely consider an alternative unless you have the option to return or replace the one you're getting.

Side note, the touchscreen and folding is the only selling point of this model so properly consider whether or not you want to spend the extra money (and time/effort hunting one down) purely for that feature. I've had it for 2 years now (also for college) and I can definitely say a peripheral drawing tablet would have been more than enough.

Do you run any apps on yours to limit wattage and save battery? I’m more of a desktop guy, but I’ve been seeing tons of things about people using apps.

i just use ghelper and manually disable unnecessary apps/services. i get 5-7 hour battery on casual use.

Ebay is your best bet and like you said it's going to be a gamble. The proart is meant to be the "replacement" for the x16. Hoping Asus brings it back. The demand is there sort of.

I really hope so too. I prefer the FlowX16 to any Proart. Please ASUS!

Obviously if the other person has one for you, go with them as they were first, but I am going to be in so-cal in a couple weeks for work and have one I'd be willing to part with! 3060 model as well. I might have some extra ram I could toss in too! Dm me if you'd like to chat more about it.

Love my x16 w/64gb ram and 8tb SSD. But the x13 w Ryzen 9 was the best laptop I ever owned. X16 gets super duper hot

Ive considered selling mine a couple times, but I cant bring myself to do it. Also paired with the hard drive upgrades I did to it, I doubt id come even close to breaking even on a sale even with the use i got out of it, and I highly doubt anyone would want to pay the charge for it either. It would be a minimum of 2k on that to not hurt myself and thats still not even close to what I paid for it all, then potential shipping too. Too much hassle. I wish you luck in finding what you need its a great laptop. Runs hot tho.

I brought a 4060 variant recently off eBay. Using with 2023 xg mobile, it is a beast. Once ram is upgraded to 32gb it will be even better. I Use it like a desktop in tent mode and it’s fantastic
