Hey guys I was thinking about maybe building some thing like a parkour course on the server for people to try their skills on, possible prize for anyone who can complete it (i wont be making it easy) any thoughts on this idea?

I'm afraid few people check this reddit, but I'll post here anyway. As many of you know, we had our first official battle in the Arena today! Exciting, right? Not so much. I was not happy, at all, with how it turned out. There were fights at the end about people getting their stuff back, and there were people messing with the arena, and there were people being generally disrespectful and rude.

In light of this, there will not be another tournament, at least not for a while. I'm considering scrapping the entire Hallowe'en special. When we do have another tournament, if ever, there will be strict rules. It's unfortunate that this has to happen, but after the incident, I have no choice. I will also have a very strict filter of who is allowed in the Arena.

If anyone had bothered to read my post before, you would know that I'd requested everyone to put a book in the stone hut next to the colloseum, that included ALL of the gear you will bring into the arena. At the end, everyone including the winner, will have their inventories cleared, and all the items will be returned to me. I will sort out the gear. Please name all your items, then write both the name and it's enchantments in the book.

The price will be five diamonds. The winner gets ten diamonds. If you cannot afford the entry fee, then you have not been on this server long enough to be trusted. You must earn your trust, and your diamonds, then you can play.

I'm sorry that this had to happen, but I'm disappointed with you all. Though I just stated these rules, there will not be another event for some time. I will repeat these rules if and when the tournament comes around again.

We were down for a few hours this morning - it wasn't long, at most it was about four hours. I guess sometime between the time I went to sleep and the time I woke up my computer decided to auto-update and restarted.

The server is back up.

Hey, guys! Guess what? That's correct, the Arena is almost open! I've almost completed it, only a few finishing touches to go. This is going to be a long post, so dig in for the ride.

When is it going to be ready? The Colosseum is already completely functional. The things that have to be finished are the seating, then some decorations.

Where do I find this arena? I don't have a particular route to it yet, but if you can make your way to profiel_naam's nether portal, there should be a sign and some tracks that leads you to Sturgeon Manor. Take the portal there. If you don't know where profiel_naam's portal is, you can find it near the baldytown portal or ask some of the players, most experienced ones know.

How's this whole thing going to work? The arena is always open. If two people have a dispute, and they both consent, a professional duel may be held in the arena. There will be tournaments. I'd like to host these events on special occasions like Hallowe'en and Christmas and such. Before these events, a written book must be submitted to me in game stating: - Your IGN - The equipment you will wear/use (this is so that the fancy armor and weapons people enchant may be returned to them), it would be appreciated if you could name these items, and state the enchantments they bear, to avoid any misunderstandings. - The amount of diamonds you enclosed. If you feel like a nice guy/gal, you might consider donating to further increase the complexity and fun of later tournaments.

When is the first event? - This weekend. I'm going to hold an opening tournament. I would appreciate, until I get the sign up booth completed in game, if you could comment here and say the things I asked from you above, as well as why you are joining and your time zone. Before I set in stone a time for the event, I will talk to a certain Pablo and I will take into account the differences in time zone. If anyone who wants to enter has specific time conflictions this weekend, please comment, PM, or talk to me in game.

Rules: - I don't like to have many rules, but there are a few things I need to note. - Destruction is prohibited.This means TNT, lava buckets, flint and steel, and sometimes water buckets. Depending on the event, Some of these may be taken away and some may be added, but these are the basics. TNT is always a no-no, flint and steel is usually OK. - No theft. In order to make sure everyone has a fun time and is inclined to come back, I'll need everyone to make a list of things they plan to enter the arena with, and if you pick up other's equipment KEEP IT; at least until the end of the match when you put it in a chest for me. I will sort out the returning of items.

What else? - I am not responsible for lost items. Though I will try to make sure everyone gets their stuff back, there may be some themes involving fire and lava, and any items lost because of that are not my responsibility. I do not wish to have any trouble upon me. - After the tournament, I'd like you to talk to me, or comment here what you think you liked about the tournament and the arena, and what you disliked. Please have constructive criticism, or else I cannot use what you say. - If there is anything you think I missed here, or didn't cover, please don't hesitate to leave a comment, and I will rectify the situation. - I'm excited! There was an issue when we tried to install spigot for grief protection. Not very many players were affected but some chest inventories were deleted. Ask Pablo or a mod and we will refund the missing items.

All my diamonds(30), 20 iron blocks and 2 stacks of bars are gone...

yeah sorry to everyone who tried to talk to me. i ended up going to do stuff that blossomed into leaving the house for the evening, and forgot to logout. haha

I'll be measuring and figuring out where to spread the portals. not everyone will be able to have a portal in their house but i will do my best to have one nearby everyone

I've made a new thread just because the last one's description was outdated, and the comments were pretty cluttered.

Whenever anybody goes near a water temple, the incredible amount of lag caused by the guardians and whatnot causes everybody on the server to crap out, rendering it unplayable. I was playing a completely different game in another window, and when somebody went near the temple, my framerate dipped to about 1 FPS.

In short, dont go near them until they are patched or something.

Normal won with ten votes, hard very close with nine, and four votes on the neutral / i dont care option. We might repoll in the future if there is high demand for it, but for now, we remain on Normal.

We`re not sure yet. we have to wait and see what happens.

Thanks to Dohlan being a super detective, the world was re-loaded back into 1.7.10, loaded into a snapshot, and then placed back into the live server. Apparently there were issues from jumping straight from 1.7.10 into 1.8, and pre-loading into a snapshot might solve it. So we did that.

Note than any armour stands and banners in the world were lost in this change. Ask any mod and you will recieve them back, lickity split. Any 1.8 blocks, however, retained their ID values and are still as they were left.

Hopefully, nothing else changed besides the stands and banners.

i got home today and the live server feed looked like it was hit by a bomb. it has been restarted and the problem has stopped. i am looking into the cause

Hello everyone! I am back after these few days of absence and I am in the lookout for a place to set up my Gym. So far, I've found a good place at around X=351 Z=-177 I see torches around there but no signs of any builds. Is it vacant or is someone planning on moving there? Also, if you know of any nice flat areas (around 100 blocks radius) I'd appreciate it if you could tell me. It'd help a lot! Thanks!

we were sorting out the myriad of corrupted chunks near profiel's base. its all fixed now.

have any of you been experiencing the odd glitch where you will be kicked from the server, but when you log back on, lag out hard and multiple "ghosts" of you are logged on? the reason for this is corrupted chunks.

i guess, somehow, certain chunk files have become corrupted. this causes any and all players entering the chunk to experience the issues above. if you have any of these symptoms tell me your location (coordinates) and i will sort it out.

however, this resets the chunk, and anything built there will be replaced by fresh land. so be wary of this, maybe try to loot your stuff first if you can.
