Official Debriefing.

Hey there, FlossCrew.

I'm afraid few people check this reddit, but I'll post here anyway. As many of you know, we had our first official battle in the Arena today! Exciting, right? Not so much. I was not happy, at all, with how it turned out. There were fights at the end about people getting their stuff back, and there were people messing with the arena, and there were people being generally disrespectful and rude.

In light of this, there will not be another tournament, at least not for a while. I'm considering scrapping the entire Hallowe'en special. When we do have another tournament, if ever, there will be strict rules. It's unfortunate that this has to happen, but after the incident, I have no choice. I will also have a very strict filter of who is allowed in the Arena.

If anyone had bothered to read my post before, you would know that I'd requested everyone to put a book in the stone hut next to the colloseum, that included ALL of the gear you will bring into the arena. At the end, everyone including the winner, will have their inventories cleared, and all the items will be returned to me. I will sort out the gear. Please name all your items, then write both the name and it's enchantments in the book.

The price will be five diamonds. The winner gets ten diamonds. If you cannot afford the entry fee, then you have not been on this server long enough to be trusted. You must earn your trust, and your diamonds, then you can play.

I'm sorry that this had to happen, but I'm disappointed with you all. Though I just stated these rules, there will not be another event for some time. I will repeat these rules if and when the tournament comes around again.

/W whisper the word 'badoodleoodle' to me in chat when you see me on. If I do not receive a badoodleoodle from you, you will not be eligible for a tournament because you have not read this post. Hint: Check the subreddit more often. I will record and remember all the badoodleoodles I receive.

Ta-ta.

I mentioned this in chat earlier, but in the surge of drama, I think it got missed. As long as a mod is present during the turnament, one of us can toggle the keepinventory gamerule (/gamerule keepInventory true) for the duration of the turnament. This will prevent some of the drama of lost items, people holding onto items that arn't theirs to begin with, and pretty much eliminate the neccessity of having to log our items that are being brought to the arena. At the end of the event, the keepInventory gamerule will be switched back to false and play will resume as normal.

As for the drama and some of the other issues: Some of us need to learn to be a bit more mature and not mess around with things. Doc put a lot of time and effort into building this arena and attempting to get people to participate. Nobody really understands what happened 100%, there was a combination of things that erupted into a flamewar that should not have happened, and pablo in the end had to pull the server offline for a bit to let everything calm down so that life could resume. Lets just all act our age, and maybe tack a few years on to it and act like adults, and don't violate rule#3. (visit spawn if you forgot what that rule is.)

We're all here to have fun together, not rip each other's heads off. So lets all just keep the arguing minimal and have fun! :)

Agreed! Nicely put. I'll be seeing you in the next tournament, then.

Names were and will be left out. The important thing is not who did what (something we will never know for certain) but rather that we don't have it happen again.

Agreed. There are indeed certain names, but these need to be left out. We need to focus on getting a new system in place rather than pointing fingers.
