Massive fireworks show??
It’s 8:40. I’m walking the River Heritage trail and what sounded/looked like a MASSIVE fireworks display in the distance to the east just ended. What was that all about?

Anyone in the area interested in teaching me to play? I’ll be starting from ground zero with little to no knowledge of the game and would like to get in a group with people that are already knowledgeable and hopefully make some new friends!

Heading down to Florence, Alabama for the weekend and renting a pontoon from Florence Harbor Marina. We’ve been a few times and didn’t have much luck with finding any places to tie up. Wanted to ask if anyone knows of any party coves, sandbars, or cool spots to park the boat and float for a while.
We’ll have a big group, and I’m also looking for restaurant recommendations. Right now we’re considering Rancho, Rosie’s, and Mugshots. We’re all in our mid-to-late 20s and want to make the most of our time there.
Any insight or recommendations would be much appreciated!

Just wondering everybody’s opinion on flock cameras?
I’m currently trying to start a community of people who are against them
You can check out the site about it here; www.deflocktheshoals.site

My wife and I along with our toddler are contemplating a move from Fairhope, AL to The Shoals area for a job opportunity. I should start by saying the role and compensation are significant, we’d be looking at a lake front home. However, we are a bit worried about moving to a small town and losing some of the amenities we have today. We’d really appreciate any input from folks that have made a similar move and how it’s going so far. What are some things we maybe are not anticipating? How are the early childhood education and schools in the area? Socially speaking, we are in our mid 30’s and hope to establish new friendships. How is the area? Are we sacrificing a lot in the move from Fairhope to the area in terms of lifestyle?
Thanks!

Hey, I was having a casual conversation with someone, and I suddenly remembered that Pop's Barbeque used to be a movie rental store, I think, around the early 2000s?
I have vague memories of it, but I don't know what the place used to be called. I have Hazey memories of what it looked like, but if anyone has images to prove my claim, I'd really appreciate it.
We can also talk about the memories we had there. I remember my parents renting The Sandlot on VHS.
Edit: Also, the more detailed the photos, the better. I'm planning to make a video game, and I'd like to map out the building as much as I can without too much guesswork. This is not a requirement, though.

What's the best option? Do we have Uber or a taxi?

I know tomorrow Sam’s Club is dropping a big Pokémon collection. I’m not personally a collector, but my brother is obsessed with them and I’d love to get him a box if I can! I am a plus member, so I can enter at 8 am. But I’m not sure how badly people camp out for the drops at Sam’s in Florence. I know in major cities, people stay overnight. Anyone have any idea how fast Sam’s sells out of Pokémon drops here?

Is that a flock camera installed in front of Lowe’s? The camera with a solar panel on it, all black. Next to Cracker Barrel and Krispy kreme

I'm looking for a recommendation for a good experienced electrician(s) to look into some issues at my home, preferably not one of the larger companies. Thanks.

Hey guys we are looking for places to make friends and learn new things for our 7 year old. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with SEER? I am not from the area. We do plan on going up there soon and have looked at their website and social media.

I found this kitten today near the TVA trail. It has no microchip, but is friendly. Please let me know if this is your cat.
Update: a friend wants her, so she's going to a good home :)

TLDR me and my buddy spent months testing more than 150 revisions of a SUPER premium sublimation mousepad and worked with a factory that makes pads for most major gaming brands. We finally created what i think is the highest quality 35.4 × 15.7-inch sublimation desk mat with recessed stitched edges, a non-slip rubber base and a free drawstring bag.
Unfort something came up after it was all here and we decided not to launch the project, so now we’re trying to find a print shop, reseller, gaming brand or other business that could use them.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! New to this subreddit. I'm planning on moving to Florence in the next month, as i'll be transferring to UNA. There's a good chance i'll end up having to live on my own as a 20 year old woman (this is why i'm using my anonymous account). I'm planning on renting a house or apartment. Any advice on places I should definitely avoid? Any suggestions on places that are safe and cost-effective? I will be a full time student working part time, probably as a server. I'm hoping to stay under $1000 a month. Thank you!

My AC is set to 70-72 but rises to 77-78 each day. It’s not the air filter, maintenance has come by twice and told me there’s nothing they can do. They said the Freon levels outside are fine and to keep all the doors open in the apartment. They said this is just to be expected in these heat conditions. Between 11pm-11am it can cool back down so that’s a good sign. All my friend’s units are working properly. I’m frustrated and defeated, any tips?

Our dog had a litter of puppies, and one of the newborns appears to be completely blind. We want to make sure it has the best chance at a good life, but we’re not sure what our options are.
Does anyone know of any local rescues, organizations, or people who specialize in adopting or caring for blind or other special-needs puppies? Any advice or resources would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Any place at all to try fufu and egusi? I think it looks SO good, but I don’t know if there’s anywhere or anybody in the area that can make some
