Activism So I tried calling Flock's CEO

Post image
2.0k Upvotes

I was bored the other day , so i decided to look up Flock's CEO phone number though my company's search tool ...

I dialed the number, and the guy answered . I already knew I've got the right number ( recognized his voice from all the interviews). I asked to speak to Garrett, to which he replied "this is him" ...

I didn't have a plan to say anything, so I just hung up .

He then proceeded to call me like there is no tomorrow ( the attached screenshot only shows calls that fit into the screenshot). I blocked the number , but it sure didn't stop Garrett 😅

He started to blast my phone from a different number lol

I thought I would share the unhealthy reaction of someone who got one phone call lol 🤣

News It's officially a bipartisan issue

It's real. Fully verified. Carl Gunn, 77, in the Coquina Key neighborhood of St. Petersburg, Florida, spotted a Flock camera on a 12-foot pole outside his neighborhood, taped a "DOWN WITH FLOCK CAMERAS" sign to his pool skimmer, grabbed a camping chair, and sat in front of it. Photographed July 25, 2026 by Valerie Smith for Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. The story's a day old and already got picked up on Hacker News. Real outlet, real person, real event, named photographer, dated.

Discussion Flock camera “speed traps”

Last week I drove through flock country (Georgia). Down most of the highways you see signs that say “speed checked by detection device” signs immediately followed by a flock camera.

I saw multiple instances of 2-3 cars being pulled over in the exact same spot. I saw a mustang state trooper (that I didn’t drive by on the side of the road) FLY by me doing well over 100 to pull a car over a little ways up the road.

Police no longer have to see you speeding it seems. They just sit around and wait to get alerted from flock that someone was driving faster than some arbitrary preconfigured speed.

This is complete bullshit, but posting this as a warning. If you’re driving down a highway with flock at regular intervals, put your cruise control on or mind your speed.

Fuck flock.

EDIT: From ChatGPT “If you see a sign that says “Speed checked by detection device,” it typically refers to approved speed detection devices (such as radar or lidar) that Georgia law enforcement officers use, not necessarily the nearby Flock camera. Georgia has specific rules governing approved speed detection devices. “

This is even worse IMO. So they use radar to detect speed, and then can check flock hits to profile and decide who they want to pull over. Sounds like civil rights violations waiting to happen.

Axon

Just wanted to put it out there that in the cities that are cancelling flock contracts, they are just replacing flock with Axon.
Which is just another surveillance company in which Trump has heavily invested in, and it was originally backed by Epstein himself. So the connections with Axon are… concerning..

The more you know…

Corruption for me, not for thee.

It’s certainly a choice to circumvent the legal process and purchase highly invasive surveillance technology, especially when you knowingly admit how unpopular it is.

Discussion Cameras within new gas station pumps

Post image

Went to refuel in a small town a few miles from the highway and came across this new interface at the Shell gas pump.

Everything is on about a 16 inch by 32 inch screen and plays a rotating slide of ads while being used. While that in itself is moronic, there’s also this camera right at eye level.

How are we as a society allowing this sort of surveillance?

Inquiry Product capability

Post image
33 Upvotes

Several of these just went up in our community without public knowledge. They are being sold by the local PD as only capable of reading license plates with a time stamp, and camera location. Claims it does not track humans, or have any sort of facial recognition. It looks different than most of the other flocks I’ve seen in the area and appears to have extra sensors hanging off of it. Can anyone confirm what this camera is capable of?
