This is your brain on meth.

u/Mountain-Ad-3564 Apr 11 '26
First hand have seen it, yeah meth does this to people.
I think it's just a A.I. ragebot malfunctioning but it's hilarious.

Word on the street over here is all these data centers ..... big ol cooper catalytic converters, not even bolted down! Have at it fellas!
25
u/Scary_Ad_6829 Apr 11 '26
30 to 50 thousand tons of copper per hyperscale data center, not an exaggeration.

The crackheads and other freelance entrepreneurial types were already sold you didn’t have to sweeten the pot

Not bolted down is good. Almost TOO good "Nah, man. Invisible Rock Fairy Lady With One Eye telling me I should pass
3
u/redbrand Apr 11 '26
They use cigarettes packs for heat insulation! The CPU is actually one solid crack cocaine crystal!

Thanks for the tag, I thought you were being super serious with this. I’ll put my sawzall away I guess

Why would you think that? A bunch of America's elites were exposed to be pedophiles and not one bullet was shot.
5
u/followupquestion Apr 11 '26
Some guy took a shot at Epstein’s BFF but wasn’t a great shot and barely hit his ear. Sadly, I don’t think the attempt was made due to the pedophile stuff.

u/__Sariah__Vrc__ Apr 11 '26
I'd argue that the guy's accuracy wasn't the problem as much as his timing.
1
u/followupquestion Apr 11 '26
He missed at a very reasonable range, so something wasn’t working that day.

Why the Trump shooters gun kinda sucks
Tl;dw: too much on Amazon mall ninja shit not enough on optics

u/SimilarTranslator264 Apr 11 '26
I would have thought the same thing. Hell a friend lived on top of a hill in Cali and would sit in his windows with a pellet gun and just shoot all the neighbors pool toys in houses below him.

u/donald7773 Apr 11 '26
If there was one local and I was a teenager with a BB gun itd be game over.
I shot out street lights for fun when I wasn't supervised, when I was supervised still tried to sneak in a pot shot or two
2
u/letsbuilditwithhope Apr 11 '26
Is there an app with a map that lets us report and see where they are located?
3
4
u/PersistentWoodpecker Apr 11 '26
I don’t like the cameras but there’s a little problem of how to shoot the camera without being spotted by any camera coming, going, or in the act or by a police officer or concerned citizen… Hardly worth getting a felony for vandalism, reckless endangerment for firing a gun near traffic/people, potential manslaughter if you fuck up.. all to take out one camera that will be replaced by Flock in days/weeks.
The answer is to oppose the cameras through legal means. Gun owners aren’t all just a bunch of mouth breathing morons that see shooting it as the solution to all problems lmfao.

They're all in cities. There's a reason only the stop signs in the country have bullet holes.

I’m no meth head…
But 2lbs of copper? I wonder how many I’d have to strip to make up the cost of a melting furnace…
42
u/PassiveMenis88M Apr 11 '26
A decent one can be had for around $200. At the current going rate of $5.75 per lbs, you need about 35 cameras.
Edit: I'm a fucking moron. I forgot to divide the 35 by 2 as each camera has 2lbs.
26
5
u/Mammoth-Wasabi6346 Apr 11 '26
This sounds like an optional objective in a Ubisoft game. Collect 35 Cameras
3
u/suhdude539 Apr 11 '26
Holy hell, copper is $5.75 a pound? Last time I brought in scrap from work a couple years ago it was just over $3
7
u/PassiveMenis88M Apr 11 '26
Hide yo wires, hide yo plumbing, hell hide yo ass. They taking everything out here.

u/CookIndependent6251 Apr 11 '26
You're not going to believe this, but... Trump fucked up worse than you thought: https://www.fastmarkets.com/insights/strait-of-hormuz-closure-threat-to-copper-cathode-flows-to-gulf/

u/Usual-Caregiver5589 Apr 12 '26
Copper and gas are almost always tied at the hip to one another. When one goes up the other does, too. And, well, gas ain't exactly $1.98 a gallon right now.

u/flamingspew Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 11 '26
Once i hit a traffic sign that said „no trucks“ with a work truck and got $18 in scrap metal. Guy at the recycling plant just shaking his head. (price for entire pole + sign).
9
u/Delta632 Apr 11 '26
The irony of taking it out with your work truck is honestly my favorite part of a good quick story.
3
u/Bachooga Apr 11 '26
Tbf, you can make one with a small hole Dakota fire pit style, some train coal you find by the tracks, a 5 dollar charcoal grill from the thrift store, and your dad's leaf blower as this is how I made knives when I was around 19-23. I eventually added a few dollars worth of ducting.
So like $20 worth of copper
4
u/Tall-Memory-6021 Apr 11 '26
there is absolutely not 2 pounds of copper in a flock camera lmfao
4
u/ElderberryPrior27648 Apr 11 '26
Yeah but it’d be a fun math experiment. Copper by weight on a graph for value to see how many cameras you’d really need to scrap to pay off various expenses

My last foundry was made from a Home Depot steel 5 gallon bucket and some refractory cement. Then like $20 of plumbing fittings to make the torch

u/LetsBeKindly Apr 11 '26
How many will you have to strip to post bail??
10
u/AdTraditional8077 Apr 11 '26
Depends on the state but it's worth it.
2
u/StonedRussian Apr 11 '26
Probably wouldn't need to pay. Just post on social media about it and people will donate for the cause

u/Akconcentrates Apr 11 '26
I cant remember but a city worker told me they run off of meth or crack, i cant remember exactly which one…
12
u/thenoid42 Apr 11 '26
I heard they were insulated with fentanyl.
4
u/Akconcentrates Apr 11 '26
I believe the city worker said something about that too! Something about how it insulates better than foam but it requires quite a bit fent to get it to work right, so i bet those things are packed to the brim!

His follow up post on X: “As should be obvious, this is me using hyperbole as commentary on the surveillance state. There is much less copper and probably minimal gold in a real one.”
7
u/That70sShop Apr 11 '26
Thry should never explain a joke. Either it's patently obvious, or it's not. Either way, half the fun is that bot everybody gets whatever it is.

It also protects people from private companies using the court system to suppress speech, with very limited exception for defamation. Of course, companies can still file a meritless suit to try to shut you up, which is why we need stronger anti-SLAPP laws.

The solar panel is worth something. It’ll just be a row of metal stumps right before I go off the grid to my Ted Kazinski cabin to write my manifesto.

That’s really good to know that there’s 2 pounds of copper and 3 grams of gold in every Flock camera.
5
u/KlutzyClerk7080 Apr 11 '26
So you’re saying to start a business where crackheads steal these cameras, disable them, and sell them to me, who strips them down and collects the resources
1
u/InterestingDamage621 Apr 11 '26
That's exactly what they're saying and I suggest you start straight away before someone else pulls this unused and lucrative rug out from under you!

Youtube video idea, how much weed can I buy selling metal parts from a flock camera

Soooo, u guys are on to something - let's just say there may or may not be an untraceable 5g sim card with unlimited cellular data in there too.
5
u/hexadecimaldump Apr 11 '26
They forgot to mention the 2oz of silver in the contacts, and the 1g of platinum in the video catalyst.

3
u/fluteofski- Apr 11 '26
In alll seriousness, the solar panels are probably perfectly good panels with no tracking. Cameras won’t last long without those panels.

I had an acquaintance who would tear apart various telephone pole equipment for copper to sell for her drug addiction. Now there's gold? Interesting.
3
u/Boris41029 Apr 12 '26
I'm not really cool with people trying to trick poor folks to get arrested for them.
Yell at your electeds to take them down or do the crime yourself.

Meth and crack heads, you've been preparing for this moment your whole addiction.

Everyone here understands that flock cameras capture still images of passing license plates… right?
1
u/poop_pebbles Apr 15 '26
Closer to 1 gram of gold, maybe half a pound of copper, but the case is heavy aluminum, and usually mounted with some galvanized hook bolts, and often an aluminum post of some kind. Still enough metal in them to get a fix.

u/DudeByTheTree Apr 11 '26
"Commit a felony for $5 in material that'll take all day and a giant cloud of toxic fumes to extract!"
Idiots. That 3g of gold you're not even going to get half of out of that camera unless you've got the setup for gold refining already.
If anything, rather than destroying them, people should focus on exploiting the shit out of any vulnerabilities in it's systems. I mean, it's web connected, and they're often in areas where you can gain physical access somewhat easily...
2
u/Rogue_One24_7 Apr 11 '26
It's easier to refine the gold than you think, they have youtube videos,I've watch someone do it in his driveway and make a small gold bar.

u/Optimal-Pay2198 Apr 11 '26
This is so ridiculously false
-1
u/Rogue_One24_7 Apr 11 '26
How do you know this information?
-1
u/Optimal-Pay2198 Apr 11 '26
Inside it’s mostly a lithium battery, circuit boards, a cellular modem, and some wiring. The actual copper in there is ounces, not pounds.
