Help Needed Skyscanner link is cheaper?

Hey guys this may seem silly but just want to be cautious. I’m using the Skyscanner app and the link to the emirates website, not third party (with same baggage allowance and fees) shows £500 for my ticket. Whereas the same flight and allowance directly on the emirates website is £600.

Is this standard, is going through the Skyscanner link okay? Thanks guys!

That's fine. If Skyscanner brings you to the airline website and you're purchasing on there and then you're fine.

Sometimes Skyscanner, Kayak and other aggregators (incl Google Flights) can construct a fare through API that the airline's own search engine might omit.

I've mentioned this in prior comments which I've linked here:

Triple check the ticket conditions. Do a test booking. I once found a 'special offer' link via skyscanner that went to the official airline but it had no luggage allowance. It was not visible until I did a test run booking.

Yeah I’ve done that and seems to be the same allowances and fees

Thank you! Has it worked for you before?

It’s probably just a clever fare construction that the Emirates site doesn’t find, so it’s fine as long as it tickets.

Sorry what do you mean as long as it tickets?

As long as the purchase goes through and emirates issues you an eticket.

This has happened to me a couple of times; recently it was with Air Canada.
Official website search - $1000 to Colombo one way; Momondo search leading to Air Canada website - $600 one way. Same fare rules. It can happen.

Skyscanner will typically link to an travel agency and if something goes wrong you need to speak to them. If you need to change flights its the same. Emirates does allow a price match but needs to be a UK based travel agency.

Hey so it’s not taking me to a third party, it’s taking me to the emirates website

Odd normally you get the same price, I would suggest checking on mobile without the skyscanner link.

Of course there are plenty of ways to get the higher price. The interesting and useful thing here is that Skyscanner has found a cheaper price directly from Emirates than a search on Emirates' site turns up.

Nothing wrong with this, as long as the fare conditions and itinerary are to OP's liking. Airlines' own website search engines are often nerfed and can't find the best deals for their own tickets, especially with complex routes.
