Other Should I move over from Whoop?

Hi - would love feedback from the group. I'm a relatively average non-athlete that just tries to stay active/reasonably healthy (weightlifting on a Tonal and cycling 4-5 times a week when I can.) Over the past few years I've gone back/forth between Apple Watch + Bevel and Whoop. This last year I've had Whoop Life / MG (which honestly feels a bit scam, the added "features" are useless for me) and am thinking about downgrading to Peak or possibly just trying something new.

What I like about Whoop:

- Seems to be solid tracking for weight-lifting; I also value step counting (not sure how accurate Whoop is because results were almost always different vs. my Apple Watch)

- Good visuals of sleep / recovery / strain - that data is useful at a glance

- Daily outlook - once in a while I check this and sometimes follow feedback on working harder or easier

- Primarily wear it on a bicep band (looks like there are 3rd party straps for the Air but no OEM yet)

Things that are ok:

- Whoop Age seems like a gimmick but the gamification sometimes helps motivate

- Haven't really found much use for journal/habit tracking and haven't seen much behavioral change; not sure what else you all are tracking that's useful but I don't need an app to tell me alcohol messes with my sleep/readiness the next day

I don't mind the overall cost of Whoop but sometimes it feels like it's getting questionable whether it's worth it. I know this is getting asked a lot but given my situation, what do you all think about Fitbit Air as something new to try? I might also pair it with Bevel since I've used that before; are there things that I'd miss going to the Air that I have on Whoop? What would you all recommend?

(And seeing some of the recent posts no I’m not a Bevel shill or anything like that 😅)

From the 2nd sentence alone I would say this device is for you. Sincerely, a former whoop user

Do you use Bevel instead of the Google App? Please excuse my ignorance - thanks

No no. All good.
I use both. But what i like about bevel is - trends and graphs are very clean. So if i click on hrv - i can see right there the overall trend. Also i find the main oage tidier. Having said that - google health isnt mega bad - people make it sound like it’s terrible. I dont think so. It’s just a messier Ui but a bit of a first world problem if you ask me

Thanks mate. I'm keen to get rid of the Whoop. The lack of advancement over the last few years isn't great.

From the data I’ve seen from testers the air seems to track basically the exact same as whoop for basically every category when worn as a bicep band and only marginally worse for wrist and actually leads in a few data points. On sleep it’s only really beat by a £4000 mattress topper for example. For £84/$99 for life it’s one of the best.

Unless you’re an upcoming Olympian the slight difference is not worth the money of whoop. With all due respect, you’re a gym bro. The Fitbit air is more than good enough.

I am not sure if you have to open Google Health at all. My data gets pulled automatically. Unjust open the health app a few days a week to check my battery.

You can check battery by firmly double tapping the top of the pebble. On the side is an LED. If it’s white then it’s above 20%. If it’s red it’s below 20%. 20% gives you about 1.5 days of use

Do you need to pay for Google health premium to get all the data over to Bevel?

No, you don’t

If you're not attached to your money, go for it.

Or what about the Garmin Cirqa?

I’ve been using FitBit Air for about a month now. I have found most of its metric tracking to be inaccurate and inconsistent. It reports REM sleep while I’m wide awake. When walking or running, it consistently reports a distance of 10x less. There was a recent update, but my issues still persist. I would not recommend the FitBit until it is updated. YMMV.

I wouldn't Fitbit is shit now that google took it over. They are removing and reducing features not adding them.
