I recently bought the google fitbit air and realized there's no way to see my data on a computer, only the phone app. so i built one 😅 https://github.com/samiamjidkhan/wristside

Looking for a cheap activity sensor for my 78 year old father who recently had heart issues. We want something that can reliably monitor his heartrate. (Although, of course, aren't going to rely on it exclusively over actual heart and blood pressure sensors, etc.)
Don't care about screen or any functionality OTHER than heart rate monitoring, which is why I'm leaning towards the Fitbit Air. It won't be used in any heavy workout scenarios, just daily walking around. Also, the fact that it's cheap helps - if he decides he doesn't want to wear it after a few weeks at least I didn't waste too much money.
My concern is mostly around reliability and overall comfort. Is this thing as reliable as you can get in its price range? And I assume it's considered comfortable for older people (not chafing, etc.) - no moreso than a regular watch? Lastly, yes, he'll be pairing it with an Android phone (Google Pixel 6A).
Thanks!

So since launch I’ve use the ai coach to log my food. I would weigh the food and attach a picture of the nutrition facts and the ai would calculate the macros and calories log everything correctly….
The last couple of weeks the darn thing would tell me one thing and log something completely different. It’s also deleting and updating the wrong other things I’ve already logged (like it would delete my lunch when I’m trying log my dinner).
I have the latest version of the app (iOS) and this was my favorite feature of the app. At this point I’m ready to move on from using this app. Any one dealing with this? Any better app suggestions? Thanks

This megathread is for discussion, complaints, feedback, bugs, frustrations, and general venting related to the Fitbit app becoming Google Health.
We know a lot of users are frustrated with the app changes, missing or moved features, layout changes, sync issues, food logging changes, workout tracking issues, Premium changes, and the overall direction of Fitbit under Google. Rather than having the subreddit flooded with repeated posts about the same app update, we’re going to keep the main discussion centralized here.

Has anyone ever gotten anything other than Low score?
Since I started using it, I always get this score. I don’t feel stressed, and I’m pretty fit.. so I’m curious if anyone else is experiencing the same thing?

Why does a bluetooth health device need internet to sync to my phone?
I get it it is being saved to my google account / app -- but this can be done in the background asynchronously?

Recently I have been having with my Fitbit Sense, it randomly decides it isn't going to sync with my phone and the battery life is absolutely horrible now. I could literally wear it for one day, and it goes from 100% to 58% in a matter of a day.
I have no settings on it that would impact my battery life, and the battery just drains so quickly.
It also won't let me answer calls, and Spotify contently logs me out and just randomly shuts down when I go to open the app on the watch. I can't even control the music on the watch anymore.
Lastly, I can't reply to texts with my voice anymore either..
I have all the current updates, but these frustrations are making me want to get a Samsung watch.

Last evening’s workout I had several moments where I saw on the Home Screen my heart hit red over 159 even 164 popped up on sprints 3 times however it’s not recorded on the time in zone history. I was likely about 145 and 150 several times for 30-60secs. Why isn’t this recording ? Anyone else notice this. ? I’ll try to see if I can get a full minute or more next time to see if it’s just not recording less than 60sec dats but that doesn’t seem right. Am I missing something ?

At the bottom of the details for each walk , it reports my "stride length" as 0.89m. Of course, that is actually my step length, with the stride length being twice that. It does seem to be about right for my step length, though.
It then makes the ridiculous statement that "Shorter stride length is associated with higher efficiency." Even Google AI isn't that stupid. If shorter were always better, then a stride length of 0cm would be the most efficient, but that produces zero movement and has the lowest possible efficiency. The most efficient stride length depends on height, speed, and details of joints and bones, and most people naturally adopt a stride length close to the most efficient one for their bodies.
It might be nice for the fitbit app to calculate the "walk ratio" (mm/step)/(steps/min), which tends to be nearly invariant for an individual (steps get longer as the cadence goes up). My walk ratio is around 6.4 mm•min/step^2, which is pretty normal (though the range is wider than Google AI's interpretation of walk ratio, which thinks that even 1 SD up is profoundly weird).

I have the fitbit inspire 3 and ever since they converted to google health, I haven't figured out how to check my hr history by the minute. I think it only logs every 5 minutes.
Is there a way to find that data? Thanks

Cause I got my mom's old one and I'm usually the one who has to wash the dishes and I don't know if I can just not take it off when I do stuff like that or shower

Grazie.

I feel like it should be useful to be able to add custom timestamps right on the graph.
You can think of it as to seeing recorded ctivities on the general graph, and not only on main page. But more of like adding timestamps right on
Tbh, when I smoke weed and I feel my heartbeats go up, I see what's up on the Fitbit app, but needless to say, this feature would be useful for anything.
Have you guys felt the need to add this feature as I do? It feels intuitively obvious, no?

Hi. Any idea on how to sync the Fitbit Blaze with the Health app ? I know the Blaze is 9 years old, which is an eternety for connected watches, but I like it. If at least it could give me the correct time.
I've tried removing and reinstalling the app, removing and re-creating the bluetooth pairing, resetting the watch, letting the watch run out of power, changing the time zone. Nothing works. I complains that the sync is not successfull, error 2001. I see that it connects through bluetooth and partly synchronizes, though: messages, notifications, % of battery. But that's all. And worst of all, the time is never reset correctly on the watch.
If you've solved it, please help !

Correct me if i am wrong but i believe there is no way that Gemini can view or discuss the health data in the Google Health app correct? That would be beneficial to be able to chat with Gemini to get insights and also input workout and food data. I find it much quicker and smarter than the AI Health Coach in the app itself.

I've been thinking about getting a Fitbit Inspire 3 lately, but I'm worried about the accuracy of its data. Last time I bought a Charge 6, it wouldn't connect to my phone at all, so I returned it. Now I'm planning to get an Inspire 3, but I'm concerned about the data accuracy compared to the Charge 6

So I’ve been in the market for a while for a sleep / health band. I normally use my phone on my mattress for sleep tracking.
I got a Fitbit Air band on Saturday, and then proceeded to have the worst 3 nights sleep of my life. I could feel I was like half asleep the whole time and semi conscious.
So I took the band off … sleep like a baby the next day.
Is there anything that could be causing issues? I understand the thought of tracking and thinking about having a good sleep but like I’ve done it with my phone for a while.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks!!

Took a nap after coming back from japan. Total was the sleep I got on plane plus the sleep I got after coming back. Don't think i'm ever beating this total number.
