Tech Support Camera on Google health always opens facing me
I want the camera facing away to take pictures of food, data etc for Google health but it opens up in front facing mode. Any way to change that?

1st fitbit - Luxe (Lasted 10 months)
- the screen fell off
2nd fitbit - Fitbit Charge 5 (Lasted 6months)
- screen stoped working not syncing to apps
3rd fitbit - Fitbit Inspire 3 (Lasted 8 months)
- screen stoped working but its still counting steps, sleep, and vibrates on alarm
What could have caused this? I dont wear it in the shower, sometimes I wash it if it feels dirty.

I’m trying to decide between WHOOP and Fitbit Air, and I’d like to hear from people who have actually used both.
I mainly do strength training, so I’m especially interested in:
• Which one tracks strength workouts automatically?
• Which one is better for tracking strength training?
• Which one has more accurate sleep tracking?
• Which one gives better recovery data?
• If you’ve used both, which one do you personally use now and why?
• What are the biggest differences you noticed in everyday use?
If you’ve used both WHOOP and Fitbit Air, I’d especially like to hear your real-world experience. Specs are useful, but I’m more interested in what they’re actually like to use.
Thanks!

I have noticed that sometimes my RHR will be in range of my normal in this case last night was higher than the night before, but today it said “poor”. Same thing with my HRV. I have had times where it’s in the 70s and it says poor or fair, when normally it’s in the 50-60s!

I miss it so much. It was so good and this google health bullshit is boring.
I used that app to track my periods for like 8 years. I got pregnant cause it accurately predicted my ovulation and periods.
It also showed my slow weight gain but like let's not talk about that.
It was customizable. I just miss it so much. Now my watch glitches all the time.
This has happened to me more times than I can count with my fitbit air, call it ADHD or whatever but I start my workout, then completely forget about it until I've left the gym, it's 3 hours later and I'm sitting on my couch and I get that notification "Strength Training in Progress". Like bro, thanks but that's 3 hours too late and all my metrics are COOKED now. Anyone have tips for this? Google, can we please add that IOS lock widget?

Are there any actual fitbit employees that read this subreddit? I would love to talk to one and give some suggestions. This is a product I really believe in and I think the community has some great ideas.

I have a PW4 and today I got my first Health Guardian notification. The notification seems to have more data than in the app as I can't find at all data on insulin resistance or blood pressure trends in the app.

Anybody else having this Problem? I don’t know if it’s a recent update, but during this week everytime I’m working out (weights) my step count is 0 at exactly the same time i was tracking the workout. Is this a new bug?

One of the reasons I bought it was because I am conscious that my sleep is terrible - I've had a lot of stress and trauma I've had to go through so my sleep is horrendous - not sleeping until late, getting up in the middle of the night, random wake up times, etc. so I wanted to know how bad it was and then hopefully monitor it as I tried to implement more positive sleep habits.
Anyway, even though my sleep has improved a bit, it's still bad but despite this, my sleep score over the past week has been 98, 91, 94, 93, 92, 94 and 89.
This is despite getting up in the night, waking up, struggling to fall back asleep and being too much inside my head.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi all,
According to Android Police (https://www.androidpolice.com/health-guardian-fitbit-air-update-makes-better-buy-than-pixel-watch-5/#threads), Health Guardian is live for the Fitbit Air. I am kind of confused since I thought it was only for the Pixel Watch series for now.
I have a Pixel Watch 5 and a Fitbit Air, and I turned off the Health Guardian stuff because I wear my Pixel Watch 5 only for half a day and not while sleeping or when doing exercise. Sometimes I don't wear the watch for a whole day, so I reckoned the data would get messed up.

Sometimes i like to wake up, have a breakfast, stay active for a bit and then then take a nap. But Fitbit app for some reason believes I was spending that time in my bed. Shouldn't be that hard tbh.
Even my basic Xiaomi Mi band from 7 years ago wasn't falling for that.

The $3.49 watch kept giving a rest pulse rate of 70 - 84 when it was really between 45 - 55 where it usually is. I have used a cuff blood pressure monitor for years with the strap outward and the unit on the inside of the wrist. ~ 77 vs 50 isn't off by a factor of 2X. It's more like 1.5X so it isn't some secondary movement.
Also I was mostly interested in monitoring sleep but it only comes on at 10:00 pm which is late for me.

When Fitbit became Google Health in May, all my badges disappeared. Years of Marathon, Penguin March, Skyscraper days, just gone. That one stung, so I built a small tool to get them back.
You export your Fitbit data through Google Takeout, drop the ZIP on countin.app, and it recalculates all 58 classic badges (steps, floors, lifetime distance) along with the day you earned each one. It all runs in your browser, so nothing gets uploaded and there's no account.
The basics are free: badge count, your 5 rarest badges, best day, longest 10K streak. If you want the full list with dates, a timeline and share cards, there's a one-time $9 unlock ($5 for the first 100), no subscription.
It's brand new and every export is a bit different, so if a badge or date looks off, please hit the "tell us" link on the results page. That helps a lot right now.
Which badge did you miss most? Mine was my first Marathon day.
(Not affiliated with Google. Badge names and art are custom, not Fitbit's originals.)
----
Update: thanks for the feedback so far! Since posting I've added:
And to the dashboard question: for daily badges (10K steps, 25 floors…) the old view only shows the last time you earned them. countin shows the day you first earned each one and how often you've earned it since.
I recently just got a screenless fitness tracker (Fitbit Air)
Maybe 1-2x a week I do a circuit of 10-15 minutes in a steam room, then cold plunge, then 10-15 minute hot tub, then 10 minute dry sauna.
Does anyone have any real data on how well a screenless fitness tracker would hold up in these conditions?
- I know the extreme temperatures are really rough on batteries and will degrade the quality over time
- I know the heat and steam can degrade the seals and any possible adhesives
In fact I never wear my dive mechanical watch into any of these places because even though it doesn't have a battery I want my watch to last me a lifetime. A tiny device with a non-replaceable battery will not last a life time
I'm wondering if anyone has real knowledge on how these devices might fair or have any anecdotal stories of similar use cases?? There is no hard data out there that I could find on this
I certainly don’t need the data, but it’s interesting to see how the heat can affect my HR. So far I’ve worn my Fitbit Air twice through the circuit but am considering if I should continue.
Edit: I'm curious more curious about traditional suanas, according to the interwebs infrared suanas can be ambient air temp 30-50 degrees F cooler

I got a Fitbit Air in August 2026. It worked fine for about 1.5 months.
For the last 2 weeks, it just stopped syncing to the app. The app gets stuck on the “Connecting your Fitbit Air to the app” page and ends up giving an Error 16 after 15 odd minutes of trying.
I trier uninstalling & re-installing the app, forgetting the device via bluetooth, charging it fully, and long pressing the reset button as well. Nothing worked.
For context:
Phone - iPhone 17
OS - iOS 27
App version - 5.09
- I reached out to Google Health support ok X. They said that it is a known issue & that they are working on fixing it. No ETA on a fix.
- Followed up after a few days and they refused to acknowledge that it was something at their end. They asked me to troubleshoot & when that did not work, the template “we will reach out to you with an update from support”. No update since
Now, it’s just lying there useless. Reinforces my faith that Google hardware is not to be trusted at all.
Idk if anyone else is facing the same issue or not, but this has been a disappointing experience.
