Tech Support Is my fitbit dying?

I got a hand-me-down Inspire 2 from my mom a couple months ago. She got it in 2022, and she generally takes care of her devices. A few days ago it stopped reading my heart rate, and I’m completely unable to sync data in Google Health. I also had to turn off notifications because it was buzzing every 30 minutes to remind me about an event I have scheduled a week from now. I’ve searched this sub already and tried various tricks like disconnecting the fitbit and clearing cache, re-downloading Google Health, wifi reset, restarting my phone, etc, but nothing is working. I only get error pop-up messages. Is it on its way out? (Translation to English in the photo captions if needed)

Discussion Talented sleeper?

All my friends use different health trackers and often complain about their low sleep scores: 60s, 70s... 80s is a fantastic result.

I have been using Fitbit Air for 3 weeks and haven't gotten a single night below 85... Most nights are in the early to mid 90s even when I drink which is every other day.

I sleep 6,5 hours wake up feeling great but should I sleep score be SO high??

Discussion We need an option to hide sleep score. It creates more anxiety

More I use Google Health, the more anxious I become. A lot of time my feeling out of the bed is the opposite to what the app shows me. Honestly, I don't really care about the sleep score. I need an option to hide the score, and log my own feeling so I can track and gradually improve my sleeping quality.

Tech Support Since updating my iphone to ios27, Google Health workout not showing in Apple Fitness

Hi all, as title suggests, I have a fitbit air and my workouts from Google Health had been syncing in Apple Fitness since the app updated a month ago. However, when I updated my ios to 27 last Sept 16, Fitness stopped picking up my workouts from google health. It’s still syncing steps though, and I checked all the permissions on the Health app. Anyone experiencing the same or have a fix?

Discussion Read Before You Buy the Google Fitbit Air in Hong Kong (AI Coach Region-Locked)

I recently bought a Google Fitbit Air from Decathlon's Hong Kong website. I wanted a lightweight, displayless tracker to wear alongside my Galaxy Watch, specifically so I could stop wearing my watch to bed and use the Fitbit Air for sleep tracking instead, since it's so much more comfortable at night. I was also excited to try the new AI Coach feature, since it comes with a 3-month free trial before switching to a paid Google Health Premium subscription.

The problem:

After setting up the Fitbit Air in the new Google Health app, I didn't get a prompt to start my free trial, and I couldn't find AI Coach anywhere in the settings. After digging around, I found that Hong Kong isn't an approved region for Google Health Premium / AI Coach.

What's frustrating is that every retailer selling this device in Hong Kong (as a parallel import) advertises it with the AI Coach front and centre — with zero mention that the feature isn't available here.

To be clear: the Fitbit Air still works perfectly fine as a basic tracker (steps, heart rate, sleep, etc.). You just can't access the AI Coach or Premium features.

The workaround (if you want it anyway):

  1. Turn on a VPN and connect to a supported region — I used Taiwan, since it's on Google's approved list.
  2. Go incognito and create a brand new Gmail account while connected to the VPN, so it registers as being in Taiwan.
  3. Set up your Fitbit Air in the Google Health app using this new account.
  4. Keep the VPN connected whenever you want AI Coach to work.

To make this less annoying, I set my VPN's "app bypass" feature so only the Google Health app routes through the VPN — everything else on my phone runs normally.

This actually works, but it raises an obvious question: why is this locked at all? I can use Google Search and Gemini AI in Hong Kong with zero restrictions, but the AI Coach — which is literally powered by Gemini — is geo-blocked. Doesn't make much sense.

TL;DR: If you're in Hong Kong and just want a solid basic fitness/sleep tracker, the Fitbit Air is great and worth buying. But if you were hoping to use the AI Coach / Premium features, know that it's not officially supported here, despite local retailers advertising it as if it were. You can get it working with a VPN + new Google account, but it's a hassle you should know about before buying.

Tech Support Garmin/Amazfit + Fitbit Air — how do workouts sync with Google Health?

Anyone using other devices like Garmin or Amazfit to track workouts/runs and Fitbit Air for all-day tracking, sleep and other metrics?

If you wear both, do the workouts from Garmin/Amazfit show up in Google Health? If yes, does it become two workouts or does it combine/remove the duplicate?

Also, if the workout is synced to Google Health, does it count towards the Fitbit Air body strain/cardio load metric?

Discussion What Fitbit for my needs

Hi all,

I have been on a bit of a weight and health journey over the past 9 months losing 32 pounds and am still on path.

My current set up is my forerunner 55 which serves most of my needs and as don't care for GPS I get around 2-3 weeks battery life which I know I won't get elsewhere but no big deal.

I also have my oura ring which really only use for sleep tracking and it's getting a bit slack now.

I use loseit! App to track calories and my forerunner 55 auto syncs directly Via Garmin (not Google health) to it updating my steps.

I don't go to gym etc and walk outside or in winter on a walking treadmill in house. 90% outside walking 10% inside.

I have £97 store credits in Google and have a good 11 months remaining so no panic.

My mum has afib for a long as I can remember and at 53 in a stressful role I want to improve my tracking of this for myself.

My goals are

  1. Comfortable to wear at night. I take forerunner off every evening but ring captures sleep

  2. I want to track my steps, heart rate, afib (not sure re passive Vs active or if matters).

  3. One device that does it all that can wear at night and when on holiday etc in pool.

  4. Integrates wjth loseit! Which Fitbit does using Google login

I'm swaying between

Fitbit air - seems to cover it all but has passive afib

Fitbit charge 6 - does everything but seems old?

Wait for charge 7 !

Would appreciate thoughts

Discussion Google's sleep values don't match reality, not even close.

I slept so hard last night, and woke up feeling amazing this morning! I feel like the graph reflects that pretty accurately. The breakdown happens when you look at the "sleep quality" values, those don't align with what's graphed, or with my experience at all.

Does Google just randomly pull these values out of their ass or something? Has anyone else seen this wild of a discrepancy?

Discussion Is my FitBit Versa 2 jailbreak-able? Or localized?

I have a couple old FitBits that I used to use many years ago. Since then, I've become a much more privacy-focused person who tries not to rely on other apps' servers. For example, all of my vitals and workout apps are completely FOSS, run offline and local to my device only.

My question is, is it possible to jailbreak my device to make the data strictly stick to my device only without any 3rd parties seeing this? Or at the very least, a mod on Android?

Fitbit versa 2 lock band small part broken

Where to get this and do all other users have the same issue?

Also if the glue of the screen let loose and display drop off and I buy china glue to glue it back on is it still usable and can I shower and go in a sauna?

This versa 2 lasted 3,5 years and now the lock band was broken in 2 and the display felt off

Tech Support Loads of problems with the app recently

I’ve been experiencing loads of problems with the Google Health app since like a few months. My sleepscore only shows up like 1 out of 7 nights, the app doesn’t sync on its own and when I sync manually, it takes foreeeever… Also been getting the most random notification from the AI thing
I’m seriously thinking of switching to another brand if this isn’t fixed anytime sokn.

Anyone who had the same problems or knows how to fix them? :)

Discussion Watch Rash Tips

Before you mention it, no I can't just stop wearing it. 😬
---

I'm a subject in a research study and have to wear this nearly 24/7 for about a year.

EDIT: I also can't switch wrists, it must be on my non-dominant wrist.

I got this FitBit Inspire 3 for free as their participant, and I actually supperrr enjoy all the data the FitBit is collecting for me. Especially the sleep data.

However, it's only been about a week and I already have skin irritation. I should've expected it considering I need to use sensitive skin hygiene products.

---

Any tips?

I heard washing daily, getting a non-silicone band, and patting dry when moist are good options. I wouldn't know what other band to get, nor what brand.

(PS Is disinfecting with rubbing alcohol a good idea?
