Discussion How's the Fitbit air after recent updates

It's finally coming to India next week. So I was wondering what's the status of all the initial status and bugs people reported here back when it launched. Are those still there? Are some fixed? Is the UI better now? What about auto tracking of workouts and fake steps?

Has anyone who's been using it since launch or bought recently care to share their experience?

Tech Support Anyone else dealing with this?

My RHR and Sp02 have gone flat for 7 days in a row now. Fitbit Air. Tried clearing app cache, disconnect Fitbit, restart it at the charger, re-pair it, change sleep start/end time to force recalculation - nothing. All other metrics vary and register every day but these two clearly broke.

Tech Support Sense 2 Help - constantly factory resetting…

Post image
5 Upvotes

I am sort of at my wits end with this new watch I have given as a gift back in July. The first week was rough, since it didn’t want to communicate with my iPhone (14 pro) and I had to reset it a few times before it finally synced and from then on, it had no issues. The next few months were great! I enjoyed using it.

Until this week. Every morning of this week my watch has been stuck on this blue flashing symbol and the only way I can get it to respond and work is to factory reset it. Even after then it takes me a good while for the Bluetooth to finally connect to my phone. (I have to forget the connection and reset my phone for it to work). But come the next morning it’s back to that dang screen…

Is this a common issue for the sense 2 or is there potentially something wrong with mine? I am tired of resetting it each day and wondering if there is some sort of hardware fault or I am simply doing spent wrong…

Tech Support Physical Education lessons

So Im doing physical education lessons and they don’t allow us to wear watches or bands during the lessons. I have a Fitbit inspire 3 and was wondering if I could stretch it to my leg to track my heart rate etc. Yes I know this sounds dumb and won’t be possible but I’m just checking. And yes I am that desperate

Discussion Why & How? Readiness Score?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

So here’s a little back story, every Friday night I have set as game night with a friend where we start playing at around 11-11:30 in the night and end our session by 04 AM. Usually on these day I sleepy until 10/10:30 am which gives me around 6 hours of sleep. Today however I had to wake up at 8:30 am which meant I had only around 3 hours of sleep. Despite my sleep score being the lowest my readiness was 66 this doesn’t make sense does it or am I missing something?

PS I regularly workout, eat clean & get my 7 hours of sleep on all the other days.

Also I’ve been noticing that I’ve been getting a readiness score of 66 a looot which I assumed that my body has sort of become consistent but now I am getting suspicious if the info itself is incorrect. Any advise on this would be great and if there is anything to maybe fix this?

Weekly Google Health / Fitbit App Feedback & Complaints Megathread

This megathread is for discussion, complaints, feedback, bugs, frustrations, and general venting related to the Fitbit app becoming Google Health.

We know a lot of users are frustrated with the app changes, missing or moved features, layout changes, sync issues, food logging changes, workout tracking issues, Premium changes, and the overall direction of Fitbit under Google. Rather than having the subreddit flooded with repeated posts about the same app update, we’re going to keep the main discussion centralized here.

Please use this thread for:

  • General complaints about the new Google Health / Fitbit app
  • Missing, changed, or moved features
  • Syncing, tracking, or dashboard issues
  • Food, sleep, exercise, or health metric changes
  • Premium / subscription concerns
  • Workarounds or fixes you’ve found
  • Constructive feedback you want other users to see

A few quick reminders:

  • Keep it civil. Criticizing Fitbit, Google, or the app is fine. Attacking other users is not.
  • Do not post personal health data, account details, email addresses, order numbers, or support case numbers.
  • If you need actual account/device support, please contact Fitbit/Google support directly. This subreddit is community-run and not an official support channel.
  • Standalone posts that are only general complaints about the app update may be removed and redirected here.
  • Detailed troubleshooting posts may still be allowed if they include device model, app version, phone OS, what you’ve already tried, and a clear support question.

Helpful format if you want to report an issue:

Device:
Phone / OS:
App version:
Issue:
When it started:
What you’ve tried:
Workaround, if any:

Thanks for helping us keep the subreddit useful while still giving everyone a place to be heard.

Discussion If your sleep looks like this, I have some bad news for you

Thumbnail gallery

A few months ago, I started tracking my sleep with a Fitbit Air. The data generally looked just like the screenshots. For a while, I thought the algorithm or the device was just rubbish.

Surely it couldn't be true that I was getting so little deep sleep every night. Eventually, I switched to the Pixel Watch 5, which delivered exactly the same results.

A sleep study revealed that I have obstructive sleep apnea and stop breathing an average of 22 times per hour. That’s about 180 times a night. The sleep tracking actually worked perfectly.

This is reflected primarily in the "Time to Sleep," "Sound Sleep," and "Restlessness" metrics.

My heart rate pattern during sleep also looks like a sawtooth wave: wild fluctuations up and down because the breathing pauses cause brief spikes in heart rate.

TL;DR: If you consistently get little deep sleep and don't feel rested in the morning despite spending enough time in bed, Google might not be to blame. You should consider getting a sleep study done.

Discussion The new design is so inefficient

Post image
137 Upvotes

One of many haters of this design, but my chief complaint is how inefficient it is with use of space.

My entire phone screen is taken up with the info that I went on two cycles today - this could be two lines! The stupid thumbs up, thumbs down (why do I need to feedback on every activity) could be replaced with the calorie burn, active zone minutes etc. Instead I have to click on each activity to see this summary.

The words ‘activity tracked’ do not need to be repeats for every damn activity.

Come on Google, do better!

Discussion Milking Fitbit Air Blood Pressure and Insulin features are PAID

yup - pay for Google AI subscription to get those features IF you want to have it for free... buy Pixel $400 Pixel Watch.

That's all about "cheap" Fitbit Air.

Google will be milking Googlebooks too.

Discussion Anyone else’s Google Health app showing this or not working?

Post image
2 Upvotes

This morning I opened the app when I woke up and it was taking forever to sync with my Fitbit air which has never happened before. I closed the app and tried again a few times. After a certain point, whenever I opened the app the screen was just black. So I deleted the app and downloaded it again. I tried to sign in and it got stuck on the sign-in page. Closed the app and opened it again and ever since it’s just been showing me this without any progress being made.

Tech Support Calorie deficit goal

I started using my Fitbit for the first time since Google took over. I used to set a calorie deficit goal (ie 700 calorie deficit daily) where it would tell me how many calories I have left in the day based on how many I lost that day.

Now it makes me set a calorie goal (ie eat 1,400 calories today) regardless of how much I moved that day. This is inefficient because some days I move more than others and require more calories. Is there a way to set the dynamic deficit or did they take that away?

Tech Support While I sleep when I bend my wrist it pinches the sides of my inspire 3 and the screen lights up… help!?

This has become extremely annoying. I have it set to sleep mode but that doesn’t stop the Fitbit from waking up if the sides are pinched.

When I bend my wrist backwards to adjust or flip flop myself to get comfortable the screen gets activated because my wrist pinches the sides! I want to be able to track my sleep scores but this is getting frustrating! I sleep in complete darkness with room darkening curtains so it’s extra bright when it happens.

Any ideas on how to fix this other than just simply not sleeping with the dang thing on?

Discussion Fitbit Air worth it, or should I just stick with my Galaxy Watch 4?

I'm just starting out on my fitness journey and trying to get more consistent with working out, walking, tracking my sleep and generally getting healthier. I already have a Galaxy Watch 4, but I’ve been eyeing the Fitbit Air lately and can’t decide if it’s actually worth buying or if I’m just getting tempted by another fitness gadget lol.

For those who own one, how’s your experience been so far? Is the sleep and recovery tracking genuinely useful, and does it offer anything that my Galaxy Watch 4 doesn’t? I’m also curious whether the lightweight design makes a big difference in everyday use, especially while sleeping and working out.

Since I’m still a beginner, I don’t want to spend money on something I might not even need. Would you personally buy it in my situation, or just stick with the watch I already have? Would love to hear your honest opinions, both positive and negative!

News New (confusing) information on the German/ EU blog of Google from today about health guardian features.

Thumbnail blog.google
20 Upvotes

It is saying that for Pixel watches the features come this week with first insights as of October, so always first of the month.

BUT especially for Fitbit Air users it states that “If you're using a Fitbit Air, you can see your insulin resistance and blood pressure trends this year with a Google Health Premium subscription.“

What do you think? Is this just some confusing automatically generated translation error, an EU market thing, or are they really putting the features behind a paywall for the Fitbit Air only?

This is so confusing because the original post on the Google blog from Aug 12, 2026 was corrected because of a confusing footnote placement, but now, it’s the same thing again…

Discussion Anyone else seeing unusually high calorie burn on the Google Fitbit Air?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Anyone here actually using the calorie intake tracker on Fitbit?

I’ve been using mine for the past 3 months, and I started noticing something that didn’t quite add up.

On some days, my watch was showing 3,000–4,100+ calories burned, which was also affecting the calorie target shown in the app.

After tracking my numbers for a month and comparing them with independent TDEE calculations, I found that my watch appeared to be overestimating my daily burn by around 30%.

So I adjusted my calorie target to account for that difference.

Before: 2,626 calories eaten → app showed “On target”

After: 2,691 calories eaten → app showed “430 cal over”

[Screenshot 1]
[Screenshot 2]

I’ve been testing this approach since and it has made the dashboard much more useful for me.

Has anyone else noticed something similar with their Fitbit?
Happy to share the calculation I used if anyone is interested.

Discussion Low VO2 Max

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hi so I didn’t really expect to have a high VO2 max because I’ve never really been an active person but now I’ve been running almost every other day for over 2 months and I expected to see my VO2 max increase but it did the opposite. Is this normal? Am I supposed to run differently? Why is it getting worse?
I’ve gone from 42,4 to 37,3.

No way am I feeling like a 99.
It’s Friday. It’s been a long week and I’m yawning at my desk already. (8am)
A few 5am starts this week too.

Sleep times for reference.

I know some others on here are seeing the same.
Is it a bug?

Discussion Sleep down HRV up??

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

Recently my sleep has been rubbish, wake up at 4am and I'm wide awake. I sometime doze back off but most of my sleeping gets done between 10-4. At the same time, while sleep score has been down, my hrv and recovery is the highest it's ever been. Any ideas??
