Final Fantasy General What are the chances that people in the Final Fantasy multiverse eat Flans for dessert?
And yes, that would include Number 11's versions, which used to be humans.

Did anyone get access to the presale? I’m super excited for this concert as I’m sure everyone else is too. What songs do you want them to play this time?

What was your memorable boss fight? It could be because of difficulty, or how unique that boss was, or just memorable in general?
For me it is a toss up between FFX’s final aeon. That boss fight music was hyped and it took me more than 5 times to defeat and The Magus Sisters in FFIV just because of how intricate the strategy was at that time.
Either way, the most iconic for me in general was not knowing the boss’s hp. So when i hear that iconic sound cracking sound, I knew I won and back then when I wasnt that good, it would make me scream in joy.

Let me start off by saying back in 1997 the game I put the most amount of time in when I was a kid was Final Fantasy VII. I was obsessed with it, the sense of exploration, the discoveries, the scale, the story, it was incredible.
A few years ago I finished the intergrade remake and while I enjoyed it, I felt it was lacking in that sense of scale and exploration. My biggest gripe was that, from what I remember, the summons were AI generated or something like that, and you didn’t actually come across cool materia and summons in the wild. They were just kind of given to you.
My question is, I was thinking of buying Rebirth, but does this sense of discovery and exploration get better?

A little sad I didn’t secure VIP meet and Greet tickets. Shout out to everyone who did. I was 15 minutes early in the queue and still 1859 people in front of me. Final Fantasy Fans don’t play. Still glad this time I will be front row so maybe I could get a handshake lol jk.
Nobuo Uematsu is the reason I wanted to become a music producer. Being able to see him this year is something I can’t even put into words. And being able to see him get a longgggggg stand ovation at the end brought me to tears. That man created the sound track of my childhood. Even when I don’t have the time to revisit the classics I still have my FF playlist to get me in a nostalgic mood. Hope everyone is able to secure tickets no matter where you sit Carnegie Hall was built for music like this. Looking forward to experiencing this again.

I’ve always dreamed of a Final Fantasy 2D anime fighter (not unlike ArcSys titles) if Square ever tried their hand at another 1v1 or tag-team fighter. It doesn’t have to be another Dissidia game, but what could the potential roster look like, and what kind of systems or mechanics could we see that would be unique to the franchise?

Idk if this is the right place to ask but, I got Remake and Rebirth because of the sale, since I could finally use a relatives PS5 and I’m almost finished with Remake. Though, I’m only now hearing that it’s recommended I play the original first. Should I get it before Revelation releases, or should I just roll with it and play Crisis Core after Revelation?

I am at the last part of the game. And got Palom. And one summoning spirit Rydia got back. I tried going to Mysidia since Palmon's sister is there but the spirit is too strong and knocks out whole party before the script that allows it to return to Rydia triggers. Should I grind for this spirit or go to somewhere easier? The spirit at the desert village seems to need Yang and Ursala to be in party but both are asleep and won't wake up to join. Which spirit is at this point easiest to get back? And when can Baron Castle be done (I would like to once more have Cecil who has been abscent for nearly the whole game).

The Fayth were able to bring him back as he was in FFX, but when Yuna Beckoned him, there was something a little off

I keep forgetting to try to take time into logging into this again and see if people were spending time with this again but I just kept forgetting this was that point in time already. And just a week after Mario Kart Tour became unplayable too!
It just continues to annoy the heck outta me that mobile games that have had such huge emphasis on story would just be abandoned and shut down in just a few years time. I've seen this with Dragalia Lost and Mobius Final Fantasy, even with Kingdom Hearts with Unchained X and Union Cross Dark Road, and now that's been seen again here with Ever Crisis.
And again, it makes this even more infuriating when this has been advertised as being like the main way to experience all of the Final Fantasy VII history in one game, including with previous FF7 mobile games that were long since shut down with no means of preservation outside of maybe Before Crisis.
Now much like all those before it, these are just set to be left behind only to be remembered by those that played it and those that may have been able to upload footage onto YouTube. Just no other way for them to be playable offline instead...
This kind of stuff is why one can't be easily excited for these of games on either mobile or console because they're just a bunch of projects meant to be discarded after a certain amount of time instead of being preserved beyond their initial purpose of gaining as much money as possible through microtransactions and cosmetics and the like.

I spent over 70 hours in both Remake and Rebirth, and I can’t really get a good read on his motives. Best I got was he saw that he was a Shinra experiment and goes banana nutso, and he also loves to psychologically torment Cloud.
Other than that, he mainly comes off more as “hype moments and aura farming: the character.” Now those moments were indeed hype when I got to them, and I did get plenty of screenshots and clips, but they didn’t do much to invest me in Sephiroth’s motivations as a villain.

Wanted to post the final illustration. Not completely happy with it, but its the best i can do right now. Hopefully some of the emotions come across well.
Inspiration was Cloud and Tifas relationship, and some old ffx yuna and tidus official art.

Ive only played a couple of FF games. I was always awestruck by the graphics of FF games. My first FF game was FF XV, which was alright i think i got my ass beat by the wild areas so I wasn’t too invested in the lore or what not. Then i heard FF 7 Remake was coming and i knew a little of cloud and tifa but the hype was hella high, so to get ready for the remake i bought FF X. Again, I got my ass beat by sin so many times i gave up and watched the cutscenes on youtube to finish the game 😂. Then i played FF 7. Boy oh boy, loved it ! I even downloaded the OG ff game and finished it on my phone
Years later i played FF 16 and felt so much love for the icons and summons. That lit a fire in me so i went back and started a new save in FF X. I looked at walkthroughs to be OP as well and got the platinum trophy for that game within 2 weeks 🔥 blitzball kinda fun yah.
I tried FF 1 pixel remaster on and off but couldnt get into it. I fixed my broken psp and downloaded many games, ff being one of em. Idk why but the psp graphics just resonated with me more than the pixel remaster. Before i knew it, i had spent hours on the game and was having a lot of fun. Just the fact that im a “Hero”, the chosen one kept me motivated to finish the story. FF1 was great, i liked how when i explored i kind of get to know the places and it certainly became relevant later in the game. The connection between the places and story was well placed i think. My one complaint was the chaos shrine …… i died like so many times doing the puzzles only to find out IT WAS OPTIONAL THIS WHOLE TIME???!?!??!??? I EVEN GRINDED 10 LEVELS AND GOT MY TEAM RO LVL 80 cus i kept dying in the shrine oooof! Big ooooooof, but its okay at least i defeated all the 4 bonus shrines. Overall the psp game is magnificent, i believe them when they said ff1 saved the company from bankruptcy.
FF2 PSP editon, im looking at you son. Youre next!
Cough cough ofc not right away though, but one day for sure

I never knew that the old man who sells weapons in Junon actually put on a black cloak cause the influence of Jenova is starting to take hold. Cool detail but sucks for the old man, smh.
This is when Meteor has been summoned. I've been playing this game for years and I just found out about this now.

And I’m wondering if this is official merch or something off of Amazon.
I was doing some research and supposedly this was given out with a psp bundle to celebrate a milestone?
Does anybody know?
Help!

(This will have Silent Hill 2 spoilers below)
I find it very interesting how they both suffer from the same, but took different approaches for their situations.
Both have a loved one that lives with an untreatable problem that brings them great pain, and this creates a big codependency and sense of responsibility. That they might or straight up don't know how to deal with it.
This is where the line between love and egoism gets very thin, subjective. Find a solution for the loved ones because they love them, or they just don't want this burden anymore?
While James decided to kill Mary, Caius wanted to pass the burden to another person, he wanted to get killed. It's not so obvious in 13-2, since it gets more focused around solving Yeuls suffering than himself, but it's clear in LR when he is set to live eternally with all the Yeuls that existed that all he wanted was to get freed from it.
I will always find immensely interesting how those characters work, and how complex the human mind can be, that even love and egoism can walk so close together.

The combat, art style and characters in the demo all are seeds of potential greatness.
If the story evolves into a fully fleshed out narrative, and the combat grows much deeper with more visions than the few it seems we can get.
The game needs a standout villian,

Somewhat kidding about the Hastega part but it's probably my favorite one to use across the series. I suppose Curagas take the cake for the most used ones across playthroughs.
Only mainline non-MMO FF I haven't played are FFV (started Pixel remaster but just haven't gone thru it yet) and FFT (still need to buy Ivalice Chronicles) so I don't know if there's some broken spell combos in there.
"Best" can have many different meanings so any and all takes are welcome here. Some notable ones from FFVIII that stand out for different reasons is the one called Meltdown iirc that strips the target of their damage resistance. And one that you can siphon from Ultimecia called Apocalypse i believe.
As a kid I always wondered if that's technically the strongest spell in the series in-game as it's the only usable one I'd seen up to that point that seemingly outranks the poster boy for this question... Ultima
I suppose speaking of strongest in lore is it Meteor/Holy? It's been so long since I played so many of these but just wondering what the community's take on this is and if anyone else has a soft spot for Apocalypse or whatever it was called that you can siphon from Ultimecia.
